26 Ghanaians in South African prison were also evacuated after negotiationsAdded:
And let me let me specially welcome the 26 Ghanaians who we negotiated. They were in prison. They had been detained for visa for visa violations.
We negotiated with the South African government that since we are evacuating our nationals, we don't want to leave anybody behind in prison. And the South African government agreed with us. So, I want to thank President Cyril Ramaphosa and my counterpart, Foreign Minister Ronald Lamola for accepting our plea. So, now there is no Ghanaian in any South African prison for visa violations.
We have brought all of them back home.
Your government will continue to care for you and President Mahama will never ever disappoint you. I thank you very much. God bless you.
