THE ROAD TRIP DRAG CHALLENGE CONTINUES WITH THE CRUISE ROUTE AND MORE RACING @ PALMYRA DRAGWAY...
Added:[music] Oh, we'll head out on the cruise.
See if we can get some footage of uh people cruising the countryside.
Uh go and catch up with Jonno's mint VH if we can get around this schlow car.
Looks like they're only ped up there anyway, so it shouldn't be too hard.
>> [music] [music] >> Ah, two VH's cruising the countryside.
That's what life's all about.
>> [music] >> Oh man, I love this. Oh, little ties.
[music] That didn't work so good.
No bars in the number plate. Looks like she's got a few bars.
[music] Parachute bar.
>> [music] [music] >> Performance power Yes.

>> [music] [music] >> My old stickers trying to leave the chat.
Little bit of air in this bad boy.
Thanks, mate. Appreciate that.
Checkpoint sword. They can go in the in the keep pile.
>> Bit of fuel. Need a bit of fuel, eh?
>> Bit thirsty get alive. Oh, especially with that little little mini tank. Hey, what's this shirt about? What's this?
What do we got here?
Sugar Valley Street Car Certifications.
>> Hey, for all your >> plate >> mod plate needs.
And check it out. Hey, man knows what he's doing.
>> She's all business in here, I tell you.
I even got the the radio playing, the wireless going.
Oh, how good is it cruising the countryside? Couple of tough VH's.
That made my weekend right there.
Sorry kiddos. Hey, back to school for you. Do some learning.
>> It's bloody mint out this way, eh?
>> Yeah, it's nice. That was awesome.
>> Yeah. Fuel. Plenty fuel.
>> What a spot. Look at that backdrop.
The top end like just cruising all here.
I'm like, "Oh, [ __ ] I hope that's just the suspension sorting itself out, not the diff."
Yeah, it seems all right. The rest of the runs were all right. It's probably just um just from all the drive and probably the anti- roll bar and all that just a little bit notched up. I hope.
>> Well, I got a jack and come over.
>> Hopefully hopefully we don't need to uh worry about that. But you never know.
>> I got plenty of tools.
>> There's one right here driving.
>> Sweet.
>> What a spot.
What a beautiful sight.
>> Ah, the kiddos came out just at the end.
Ah, yeah, boy. That's what I'm talking about.
Good old road works.
Might need a bit of fuel. Oh my god, farmer.
How good's road works.
Isn't it just our favoriteest thing ever?
So there we go. That's the uh day one cruise done.
Happy days.
I may need to check my fuel though. I underestimated what I might need for the weekend, but park up, let it cool down.
Go and film some racing road there. It's uh got out to about the 50, which is our first block. You can see just past the start line through there.
Big over rev and it just seems to lose drive and it's coming to a a halt.
just past the half roof there. But yeah, I'm going to say something right there for >> we are going to have to rescue this car pretty >> little golf coming around for another run.
Bit of felt smoke as it went in over pretty quickly.
>> That's why Mitchy loving life.
>> How many runs you had, Mitchie?
>> I've already handed my dial in.
>> Have you?
>> Yeah.
>> Why was your dial in? I did 840 with a six. I went, "Oh, I'll go 840 with a five." Because I did 840 with you >> just have a run with a nitrous.
>> Yeah, [laughter] >> just to do me 750 and went too quick.
>> Yeah, I was spewing.
>> Well, close enough. You just know that you're nearly there. You >> just got to dial it back a little to go get a 750 now.
>> Yeah. Sweet.
>> So, what was your dial? 840 >> with a six. Oh, no. I 840 with a five.
My dial in.
>> And what did you get? 840 with a six.
>> No, no, I did 840 with a six last year.
I did 840 with a six on my second month.
I'm like, "Oh, well, that's what I'm dialing in."
>> Hey, plug that laptop in over there.
You'll get plenty power.
>> What's that?
>> That laptop over there. Just plug that in. You'll be right. Give you extra 100 horsepower.
>> Is it in MS GOS?
>> Uh, it might be.
>> Yeah, I got one that does.
>> They're all the same to me.
>> Not about 60 foot on street tires.
>> What'd you get?
>> One 78.
>> What?
>> That can't be right.
>> It's loving life.
It loves the gas. It must be compression I'm down on cuz the [laughter] gas will fill in the holes.
>> Yeah, she's like, I like this. I like it.
>> Definitely makes up for it. I need bigger jets.
>> You always need bigger jets.
>> Put big ones in it. Crack a six.
>> Do it.
>> Do it, Mitchie. So, we're about to head back out for the afternoon session.
Mitch's in front of me. He's uh gone spot on his dial in. So, happy days for him. But now he's just going to try and get a 750 or a 760 so it can go in the shootout.
We'll uh see if we can tighten up our 651.
Try and get a 650 something.
Heat. Heat.
Heat.
Heat.
Maybe needs um little bit more of a skid. Perhaps just a touch more. It was close.
Little bits of wheel spin on that one.
670. So, we'll uh see if we can crisp that up a little bit.
Get rid of the wheel spin. We might be right.
>> Thank you.
back 30.
So 16360 671. So yeah, that would have been pretty well on the money, I think, if it uh >> took it on the hit. That's all right.
We'll just uh go out and have another little run.
>> Break axle.
>> Ah, bugger.
Mitchie smacked an axle.
Oh, one more run then we're going.
Yeah, boy. Bit of VH on. VH crime. Haha.
Hopefully. Anyway, should line up.
H should be fun.
Heat.
Heat.
60.
I can see why everyone was lining up in the right lane cuz uh that left lane was not playing the game.
She will need some uh berries taken out of it in that lane for sure that just spun. So did the right thing. I sort of got back in it and then I got out of it. I'm like, "What are you doing, >> Mitchy? Why are you laying under your car?"
>> Is it comfy down there?
>> Did you bring a spare axle?
>> Nope.
>> Oh, no.
>> He's going home to get drag drag wheels lubricants.
>> I've got some axles coming. I just didn't think I'd break one. I want to hit hard.
>> Oh god, >> man. That left lane's horrendous.
>> Left lane.
>> Yeah, slippery as [ __ ] >> Nowhere broke on the street tire.
>> Spin city on that one.
>> Must.
So, we're going to put a little bit of boost uh bit of ignition timing [ __ ] off the hit. Just a couple of degrees.
And a little bit another pound of boost up in there from about 3 seconds, I think.
See if it takes it off the hit.
Um, yeah, >> not playing the game at the moment on those last couple of runs, but that first one was very close to going. But that left lane, second run, that was a big no.
>> So, we'll have another go. Mitchie's over there pulling stuff apart.
Yeah.
>> Oh, he didn't bring spares. He thought, oh, he's just running mostly aspirated this weekend. So did that and now chasing his 750 so he can run in the shootout and banged an axle.
Time for a 9 in I reckon and a turbo Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat.
half mile.
So I think the draggy set a 670 on that one. So not really what we want.
Can we get that elusive 650 to take the hit and then uh yeah, happy days after that and just cruise through on the boasties. But this might be our last little crack at it. Heat.
Heat.
So yeah, I don't know if we're uh battling the headwind at the moment. So, I feel everything's kind of working all right, but it's just not quite getting there. But there is a pretty healthy breeze.
So, it kind of looks more a cross track at the moment, but Thanks mate.
So yeah, 664 158260.
I just don't know.
Heat.
Heat.
Quarter mile.
It's not always easy.
Thank you sir.
>> You're welcome.
>> 15960 658 108. So a bit more mile an hour but >> maybe need to take off a little little less maybe on the RPM on the leave.
Okay, we're actually going to try something a little different here. I'm going to try 5400 RPM off the launch, but still only about 10 or 11 lb of boost. See if the RPM will stay up there or see if it dies back down from there as well.
Got to try a few different things when things aren't working. So, Come on.
Heat.
Well, that felt better, but it doesn't look better on the draggy. So, still a 659.
160.
Oh, well, you got to try these things.
Switch it off and roll just in case we want one more run.
Thanks, mate.
>> 11.
>> Both the numbers are folded up.
>> Yeah. Too fast for him, mate.
>> Going for one more.
Heat.
Heat.
60 100 quarter mile.
>> No good on that. I'm pretty sure we spun and we spun out too like I'll have to check the data but it was yeah maybe like 100 foot 150 ft something like that.
That is it for the day.
>> Well, going the shoot out, but plenty of runs.
>> Well, mate, >> thanks buddy.
>> No worries.
Frankie Running out what we've got in the middle for this guy here.
53 128 >> 128 >> focus.
>> What are you getting your trophy already? Yeah.
>> Yeah. It's a trophy for the >> smallest >> person to sleep in tomorrow morning.
>> But I'm going to make it through tomorrow. I'm not going to be in bed all day like last year.
>> I like it.
>> Hello.
>> Hello.
>> Thank you.
>> You want to turn on the 650 shoot?
>> Yeah, may as well.
Look at our beautiful merch over there.
Hey, has everybody got their road trip merch? Their lakeside merch.
No prep, no problem. Hey, check out those umbrellas.
You might need one of them.
>> Thank you.
>> So, that's uh the road trip racing part of it. So, there is a shootouts tonight. I'll actually try and film some racing cuz I've been >> busy trying to get my number today. I think I did 11 or 12 passes. So, probably should have left it at the third or fourth one. That was my best.
But hey, you got to work these things out sometimes the hard way.
This thing's pretty sexy. Fastest car on the property.
130 mph to the eighth.
It's a very cool looking VK.
And that's where we'll leave part two of day one. Come back for the shootout.
