[00:00:12]There's nowhere else I feel more like myself than here along the California coast.

[00:00:27]When I return to these shores, [music] I bear witness to the evolving landscape making the place feel new every time.

[00:00:53]We're at my favorite place in the entire world.

[00:00:56]And we're going to go tide pooling today.

[00:00:58]Besides cool too.

[00:01:00]>> At low tide, the ocean peels back its layers revealing this web of life tucked between the land and the sea.

[00:01:09]For this fleeting moment I get to tiptoe my way through the intertidal.

[00:01:15]Where aged rocks hold pools of salt water establishing the canvas for the mosaic of sea life that inhabit them.

[00:01:24]There is life everywhere.

[00:01:27]If you're willing to stop and notice.

[00:01:33]>> Morning.

[00:01:34]>> Morning.

[00:01:35]>> We're looking for slugs today.

[00:01:37]>> How many have we found?

[00:01:39]>> I think we found Okay, opalescent Hopkins, Laguna white-spotted sea lemon >> The world between the tides is not empty space between the ocean and the shore.

[00:01:53]But an unexplored crevice bustling with life.

[00:01:58]Between species, between ecosystems, between observer and observed.

[00:02:22]>> [music] >> What a gift it is to be held by this landscape.

[00:02:50]No longer separate from it, I am a part of all of it.

[00:02:56]This place has changed me, and my presence has changed [music] it, too.

[00:03:02]With this, I carry a sense of responsibility as I move through the shore, leaving no harm where wonder is found.

[00:03:15]I return to this place where, like the intertidal species, I can also feel temporary [music] against the old rock beneath my feet.

[00:03:24]By returning to this place, I found myself woven within all of it.

[00:03:34]So, I keep coming back.

[00:03:36]Back to the tide pools, back to the space between the land and the sea, and back to myself.
