Another Female Reporter Faces Trump's Rath追加:
know, understanding what that means and totally losing any kind of idea that we don't have kings in this country, we don't worship idols, we have three branches that are equal, and how off the charts his narcissism narcissism is. It's just it's disgusting. And I bet so many countries are making fun of us. I mean, we toppled Saddam Hussein, remember that? That statue?
>> Absolutely.
>> And like that's the sign of a dictator, you know? And to for us to put that up on his golf course is just so distasteful. It's just so distasteful to me.
>> Rojo, what are your thoughts, man?
Dude, I I I I mean, it's uh you like I get what you're saying, but it's also like to go there's three branches of government that are equal power, he nobody has shown that to him. Fair.
Yeah, fair. At this point he I at this point he go, "Let's see how much the [ __ ] I can leave around." Totally fair.
Nobody's you go that wild thing he said they were under budget on the on the ballroom, but it's twice as big.
Are you talking about when he called the reporter a dummy? Mhm. And did you see that clip, Tory? Yeah. Okay, so we're going to talk about this. I was um running late, but Michael Dean did send this to me. So, why don't you talk about it and I'll let you know when I have the clip ready?
Um yeah, so lately Trump, as I told you guys, his tail is lashing out at reporters in mean ways.
>> about you when I thought about you when I saw it. When you said that, yes. Yeah, and it's not like smart responses. Like if Pete Buttigieg or someone like you know, had a response, it would probably be like, "I'm going to beat you in a debate." But he just uses like words from like the playground. And someone did a long history of Trump's vocabulary and it equaled a third grader. Like he uses the same vernacular. Like, "It's going to be the biggest the biggest crowd the boldest the most beautiful."
He uses the same words like over and over again. And so, he called this reporter a dummy. He recently, and I we've talked about this, called Rachel Scott a black female.
Oh, here it just starts, sorry.
Yep.
So, what happened is we have a ballroom that's under budget. It's going up right here. I've doubled the size of it because we obviously need that. And we're right now on budget, under budget, and ahead of schedule.
I doubled the size of it, you dumb person.
I doubled the size.
You are You are not A SMART PERSON.
OKAY, WE CAN PICK IT UP FROM THERE. Ro what did you What did you Obviously, we hear the words, but there's a visceral anger with that response that was like palpable.
Oh, sure. I don't think he thinks women should be allowed to talk to him.
>> Right. First of all, I think that's a real thing.
>> Absolutely. Um and it's uh I'm done with this math.
You can It's physi- just physically impossible to double the size of something from the original from your original specs and then be under So, you If >> You're under but but also on budget.
Aren't you either under or you're right at your budget or you're over? But you can't be all three or two of the three.
Yeah, Shelly goes in budget, under budget, and on schedule. Like, none of that makes any sense. [laughter] That's That's when you're like, "Oh, we're on budget." Yeah, yeah, I know where budget is. Yeah, we saw budget over there. We saw it about 3 weeks ago.
It was just such a a a wild response. And it's just like we have fallen so far that the story of the president somebody erecting a gold statue of the president holding a effing Bitcoin.
For the love of it it's like mind-blowing.
And on top of that last night he went on another tweet fest. I think he tweeted 72 or 79 times last night. This is a tell too. This is a tell.
>> Yeah, I think he's up all night. And then he as soon as he closes his eyes to go to sleep it's like 6:00 a.m. And they're like so you need to go talk to some reporters and they're getting that old angry man that just wants a quiet day in the community center. And it's like the the kids from the preschool are here and he's like, "You're a nasty little girl." And you're just like, "Why is that man so mean?"
He's been up shit-talking his grandkids all night. Except this guy's the president. It's like it started with you're a nasty woman. And I remember that so well from the debate. We were all like, "Yo, I don't know people like talk like that." And then it got all the way to Rachel Scott the other day who's a black female reporter, excellent at her job, calling her a [ __ ] And what surprises me when he's like, "Quiet piggy." Remember that one on the Air Force One?
Or you're you're not a smart person, you're a dumb person. I'd really like some male reporters to start standing up for these women and being like, "That's completely inappropriate." Now, they probably feel like they'll lose their seat and I get it. The access, absolutely. But it is entirely inappropriate relationship between the president and the press to have this kind of reaction. But it really tells you what state he's in. And I think it just says he's desperate.
He's losing losing losing. The more he says things like you're a dumb person and lashes out, he is he is he is under pressure. He's under pressure. And some people call it sundowning. Some people say it's like an old man thing. But to me it's more of like I'm I'm getting squeezed and so you're getting insulted.
That's That's how he reacts. You know what I mean? Yeah. Right before we came on, I saw a tweet that he He said it was treason for the news networks, news programs to say that Iran was doing okay in the war. Yeah. Yeah.
And that just means that they're going, mark my words, they're going to try and make an example of a reporter.
They've already kind of tried to do it with the woman that reported on Kash Patel and his drinking in the Atlantic, but they can't >> her, remember?
Yeah, but like they I'm talking about I think they might try and call me I agree with you. you know, a reporter for treason. And it's just you know, for as much as we will all sit here and be like, oh, if they do, you know, to be a BS case, sure.
But it doesn't mean it's not scary.
Christina, that's what I was about to bring up if >> Don Lemon. Don Lemon and also there's a the woman, her last name was Ford.
One of the things that I will take away from this presidency is especially this iteration of it.
Obviously like images in Minneapolis, but when that reporter Ford she's making a video as the the feds and the ICE were outside of her house and you could hear her kids crying and just like the idea of you being with your young children and you knowing that you're in essence powerless to help them.
Yes. The case was thrown out or it's not going anywhere, you know, but it doesn't mean that those kids aren't scarred forever. It doesn't mean you won't be audited. It doesn't mean your your brother-in-law won't lose his job on some vindictive [ __ ] >> And you can bankrupt someone even if you never if it never goes anywhere. Yeah.
>> Right.
>> fees. Just the lawyer fees. That one woman, I think she's at the post. She got docs and then someone broke into her house and was all over her. I mean she was targeted. She just won the Pulitzer Prize. So I'm so proud that like at least some journalistic integrity stands. But I really appreciate what John Venturini says shout out about independent journalism, local news. Like that's why it's so vastly important that we keep that freedom of the press there.
And I will say Trump is never as used the press in a way we've never seen another president. He goes back in Air Force One to the press pool. He uses them in a different way. It is it got him elected. I mean he really understood the power of the press. And that now they're like his enemy. And you see the arrests and all that and that's what started when you I mean I'm not going to talk you know, when you talk about a dictator, fascism, they arrest the doctors, the scientists, the press, the journalists, everybody that's trying to tell the truth. The comics, yeah. The comics, right? Stephen Colbert, like you see the this pattern and he's just following it to a T.
Respect that.
