Your Lawn Mows Itself Now! Navimow i205 AWDAjouté :
This is the Segway Navimow i205 AWD. It claims to be the ultimate set and forget robotic lawn mower built to conquer complex terrain and [music] give you your weekends back. But, is it one of our new top five gadgets?
Let's be honest, robotic mowers have got something of a bad reputation, at least in my experience. The first generation of them were nothing more than a massive headache. You'd spend an entire weekend burying a perimeter wire just to tell the thing where to go. And at the first sign of wet grass or a tree stump or maybe a dog's toy, the thing would get stuck and lost. You'd spend more time rescuing this thing and cleaning up after it than you would actually just mowing your own lawn in the first place.
But, what if you could get a robot mower that genuinely requires zero physical installation and has the off-road capacity of a miniature 4x4? Well, the Segway Navimow i205 AWD claims to be exactly that. This isn't just a toy that bumps into things. This is a highly intelligent all-terrain landscaping machine. But, is it worth the investment? The first thing we absolutely have to talk about is the setup process because that was my massive bugbear with the first generation of robot mowers. Traditional mowers require those boundary wires and physical antennas scattered around your garden. But, the Navimow i205 AWD features absolute hands-free setup.
There are no wires and incredibly, there is no local antenna needed. You literally just drop it and mow. And that's because it uses an upgraded tri-frequency network RTK fused with vision technology. It means that it gives you highly precise GPS data directly from the cellular network. And the best part, Navimow includes a lifetime free NRTK service and the required cellular data is provided completely free of charge. Once it's connected, you don't even have to walk the perimeter to map it. You just use the geo sketch auto mapping feature inside the application. You can easily edit boundaries, set no-go zones, and fully customize your mowing schedule in just a few taps of this app. You can even control it by voice if you want when you're away from the unit, integrating perfectly with Amazon Alexa and Google Home, if you're that kind of person. And whilst that wire-free upgrade is the convenience upgrade we all want from the next generation, the drivetrain is the performance upgrade here. Because most robot mowers are two-wheel drive, meaning they struggle the second they hit any kind of bump.
The Navimow i205 AWD is built for mastery of complex conditions. It features an advanced all-wheel drive system, hence the name, paired with a built-in electronic stability control.
This means you can easily conquer challenging terrain. It powers overexposed roots, uneven stones or paths, and can even handle incredibly steep slopes up to 45% or 24°. It comes standard with a rugged 9. 8-in off-road wheels, giving it the traction to never get stuck. But of course, Segway wanted to over-engineer this in the best possible way. That all-wheel drive system isn't just constantly all on with all three wheels spinning at all the time. There is an on-demand drive system that detects when each axis will need more power on the go, meaning that you'll save around 30% of your battery life compared to normal all-wheel drive systems that are on all the time. And importantly, because you want a nice lawn at the end of it, not a mud pit, it utilizes grass-friendly zero-turn steering. The rear wheel coordination enables it to make tight, precise pivots without scraping or tearing your turf, keeping your lawn perfectly intact. It even features a traction control system that automatically adjusts on wet or uneven surfaces to minimize slipping.
And finally, we do have to talk about how the Navimow i205 AWD handles obstacles and the elements, because we don't want a robot mower running over our favorite dog toy or getting stuck in the rain. The i205 is incredibly user-friendly and safe. It uses vision fence system powered by a 140° RGB camera. This AI power tech enables centimeter level recognition of over 150 different types of obstacles. It detects pets, wildlife, and toys in advance and safely navigating around them. It also features weather adaptive mowing, meaning it can handle extreme conditions. It has IP66 rating, meaning it is completely dust proof and can withstand heavy rain. And in an anti-theft function and an ultra-quiet 59 decibel operation, you have a machine that just works flawlessly in the background. It even has an enhanced mowing efficiency with an upgraded blade disk that moved from three to five blades. So, what is the TLDR on this whole thing? The Segway Navimow i205 5 AWD takes the headache out of automated lawn care and gives you your weekends back. The antenna-free network RTK setup means you don't have to bury a single wire. And that all-wheel drive system and electronic stability control ensures it can handle steep slopes and rough terrain that would stop other mowers dead. And that vision fence AI means it avoids obstacles without destroying your belongings on your lawn. At 699 pounds, it is a premium machine, but it completely crushes the competition by offering smarter energy use and better slope handling right out of the box.
Segway has smashed it clearly right out the park with this. But, is the Segway Navimow i205 AWD one of your new top five gadgets? Won't you let me know down in the comments down below.
