The DEMS Are In A Civil War. What Comes Next?

[00:00:00]Look, as much as I know that we're all enjoying watching MAGA, not only fracture, meltdown, and get their lick backs, I think it's also fair that is Dems, independents, and anyone not voting solid red, that we turn around and look inside our own party. Because, y'all, when I tell you we are having a civil war of our very own. So, the war is not just Republicans versus Democrats, it's old Democrats versus new Democrats. That fight inside the Dem party. And guys, I'm aware that there's an independent party. There are third-party candidates, all the things.

[00:00:31]But you guys understand what I'm saying.

[00:00:32]For the purposes of this video, any I'm saying Democrat is anybody who isn't red. And that fight is about who does this party belong to, the Democratic Party. Who does it belong to? The voters or the donors? Now, obviously the term vote blue no matter who has been around forever. And I would say that on whole, that term has served the Democratic Party well. But in this moment, in this particular election cycle, it's no longer just vote blue no matter who, it's what kind of candidate are you voting for? But also, side note, if you find yourself in a situation where you don't have a new Democrat type candidate to vote for, obviously, vote for the Democratic candidate. Because for years, and for me, a huge part of the reason that the Dems didn't win the 2024 election is simply not being MAGA or not supporting Trump is just not That's not a political platform. It's not an ideology, and it is certainly not a policy. Because at least we're not fascist is the floor, not the ceiling.

[00:01:32]Old institution Democrats, that's part of how we got here. So, the civil war inside the Democratic Party is old D versus new D. And who doesn't love new D? Yeah, I said it. Old D is the institution Democrats, like a Chuck Schumer and a bajillion others that I could name, who they campaign like fighters, but then they exercise policy like a hostage negotiator. They tell us it's too much, it's too early, it's not safe. Ones that tell voters to be patient while we're drowning and while they're still collecting huge salaries every year. Old D, they're the ones that tell us to be realistic while minimum wage hasn't been raised in 17 years.

[00:02:09]Housing is unaffordable, college is unaffordable, healthcare is unaffordable. Old D, they're the ones taking the corporate money, the PAC money, the billionaire money. You guys know the people I'm talking about.

[00:02:20]That's Old D Democrats. And you will know Old D Democrats cuz they'll be the ones attacking New D Democrats harder than the damn Republicans. Old D is too safe, too polished, too buttoned up, too damn institutional. It's time to put the Old D Democrat party to bed. These dinos and their donor approved language is for a country that we are not living in anymore. These people are too afraid to use power when they have it and genuinely when it comes push to shove, instead of voting for the working class, they always vote for the policies that help the billionaires. Cuz if you as an Old D Democrat are supporting policies and systems that crush regular people, then I don't care that you have a D next to your name, you're part of how we got here. You are not the future of the Democratic party. You are the firewall protecting the past. Time for you to take a nap. Not in like a threat way. Hi FBI agent. New D is completely different. Think your Mondaires, your Brand Platners. Basically, anybody that makes Republicans and Old D Democrats afraid. New D Democrats, that's voter power, voter engagement, campaigns funded by the people, not by PAC money.

[00:03:29]Candidates who don't take that money, who aren't afraid to say the thing to piss off the billionaire class because they actually understand who the hell they're there to serve, the people. And these New D Democrats, yeah, they're ruffling some feathers, all right?

[00:03:41]Because guys, drain the swamp shouldn't belong to MAGA. MAGA never drained the swamp. In fact, if anything, they just filled it with billionaires' money, lobbyists, you guys know. You're living on planet Earth right now. The actual swamp is the donor class, the billionaires, consultant class, the revolving door. People who bankroll both parties, no matter who's in office. You only have to look at the behavior of the GOP and the institution Democrats to see that what I'm saying is true. Because what both of those groups are terrified of is an awake, informed electorate who's going to turn out to vote. Look at all the people that they're trying to disenfranchise. Black voters, women voters, pretty much everybody that they think won't vote red, they're going after their vote. And that's before we discuss the fact that that you know who is assembling a personal army so that he can do insurrection 101 over again, but get it right this time. They are terrified that if these New Deal candidates come around that they will energize people. They will make people turn around and pay attention to politics again because they will see that politics isn't some boring thing that happens on the nightly news.

[00:04:50]Politics is your rent, your college tuition, your interest payments on your credit cards and your mortgage, your wages. It's your damn future. And that's what both of these groups have in common. The GOP, the Republicans, and these institution Democrats. They are terrified of these candidates who will say the things, do the things, take only public money, completely tell to piss off, and they will actually go there and work for the people. Because candidates like that make people believe that maybe things can change. That if we had elected representatives instead of leaders representing us on Capitol Hill, that maybe things would be different.

[00:05:33]Maybe policies could change. Maybe we actually could participate in shaping the future of this nation. The very things that these two groups of people attack about New Deal Democrats are the very things that we find attractive about them. Who care? Graham Platter has a tattoo. Okay, he got it covered up. He said he didn't know what it was about.

[00:05:53]He's made some stupid comments online, but listen, who among us has not made mistakes? Yes, these people have lived, they have learned, they've worked real jobs, they've seen real consequences.

[00:06:04]Some of them have been to war multiple times. These are real people. These aren't people trying to sound like every damn sentence has been run through a consulting agency to make sure that it's approved for TV. They're innovators and disruptors and that is terrifying to old D Democrats and to MAGA. Guys, please know this, protests are great, videos are great, sharing videos is great. All of those things are wonderful, but they can wait out your anger. They can ignore a hashtag. They can just not cover a protest, but look at what they're trying to do to make sure to interrupt the vote because they know that that's where the power is. Poll power changes things.

[00:06:45]Because the second that people start paying attention, checking who their candidates are taking money from, researching candidates and not just voting because they have a D or an R next to their name. Print out sample ballots, make sure that they have a ride to the election. Take a friend with you.

[00:07:01]That's an engaged, informed population turning out to take back the seats in the people's house and that is terrifying to them. there's no nice way to say this. There's no one coming to save us. That's it. It's up to us. This is the last shot, these elections, at us solving this in a peaceful manner. So, it's either going to be the ballot box or the bullet box.

[00:07:27]I I would encourage you guys to choose the ballot. It's not just the big elections. MAGA got one thing right.

[00:07:32]They have been building power at the local level. School board officials, judges, clerks, all the way up to the Supreme Court and the White House. Every election matters. You need to be plugged in and voting in every election. So, look, I know that I'm throwing a lot at you, but also we find ourselves in a time where I'm sorry, I just personally can't stomach listening to more bad news. So, here's the thing. We We're in a moment now where action matters more than being upset. I have made a resource. I've talked about it before and I added some resources to it. You can go to it. It's free. It's just a word document, okay? It's at the top of Ask Raffaela. It has all the things that you know, links to voter registration, links to find a free ride to the poll, links to see what candidates are taking, you know what money, links to see to learn more about the candidates that are available in your elections. This is how we do it. You lock in. You find a buddy.

[00:08:25]You give a ride. You register to work at the polls. You make sure that you are voting for New D candidates so that we can drag this nation to the left. Like I always say in my real life, don't about it, be about it. Let's get it done. Share this information. Get registered. Get to the polls. Make sure you understand who your candidates are.
