The 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution explicitly prohibits the use of federal funds to pay any debt or obligation incurred in aid of insurrection or rebellion against the United States, and this constitutional provision is being invoked in legal challenges against slush funds that provide financial support to individuals who participated in the January 6th Capitol riot.

Trump’s LATEST THREAT Just Put Us All in GRAVE DANGER! Malcolm NanceAdded:
This is going to be the defining election, quite possibly, in all of American history. And I want to point that out to everybody because >> Um, so our friend Harry Dunn and also Officer Hodges are suing to block this slush fund. Dunn and Hodges did not back down on January 6th. Instead, they held the line to defend democracy and the rule of law. They bring this case to do so again. Their suit reads, "The fund violates the 14th Amendment's prohibition about use of federal money to pay any debt or obligation incurred in the aid or of insurrection or rebellion against the United States."
And it also contends they have faced ongoing harassment, including death threats. We've talked to Harry about that Mhm.
>> in the riot. They allege they have a personal stake because the fund can be used to provide financial support that's likely to fuel that same sort of harassment in the future. I I, you know, again, I'm not a lawyer. I don't know the chances, but I I feel like I just can't believe this can stand. That we can have a slush fund to pay violent terrorists.
You know, I I personally think that perhaps we should start talking some of the lawyers that if this goes through, that we start filing 75 million civil suits against these people individually. Yeah.
To make sure that not one penny of that goes anywhere. And I'm sure there's probably a few thousand lawyers that'd be ready to do that. Yeah. So, we just talked to Mayor Bass about election officials brace for ice at polling locations.
While some officials say they're not worried, the majority said they had major concerns, especially as these statements come as a much broader attack on elections and democracy from the Trump administration with 6 months before the midterms. They say they're now scrambling to reassure voters, replace federal election resources eliminated by Trump, and try to plan for scenarios they've never had to contemplate before.
Malcolm, I keep saying we need to be prepared for all of the above, don't we, regarding these elections?
Yeah, this is going to be the defining election, quite possibly, in all of American history. And I want to point that out to everybody because I know there's still a lot of people in the African-American community who thought that they did all the heavy lifting in the last one and that they're just going to sit this out. They're going to do, you know, they're going to be listening to the Jill Steins and the Cornell West and, you know, I mean even in California, you're at risk of electing a Republican because Democrats can't get their act together. Y'all had better get very serious, very fast, immediate ma'am. Yeah, I I agree. I agree. We also we would coalesce when we had a frontrunner and we have a very clear frontrunner in Becerra, but And and you know Malcolm means business when he bring breaks out the French. Yes.
>> Oui.
>> [laughter] >> Vive la resistance. Um Yeah, I So what it was I can't Oh, cuz speaking of California, cuz this is the kind of nonsense Trump is This is what he said yesterday. You have a rigged vote out there. That's the problem. The votes are rigged. You have really rigged votes in California. You have the mail-in ballots, everything else. Very hard to win cuz the elections are very dishonest. If we had Jesus Christ come down and count the votes, I would have won California cuz cuz I do great with Hispanics, but it's a rigged vote. They send out 38 million votes. Nobody knows where they're going.
Of course the Democrats do, I guess.
Disproportionately Democrats get many more votes. Right, cuz we're a democratic state.
Uh some get eight votes. Lost by 20%.
Lost by 20%.
>> Thank you. He said some get eight votes.
They get eight cards. No, no one gets eight ballots. Uh and Republicans have to call in, "Where's my card?" It's a rigged system, but one of the worst I I'll give you a list. I'll do my list, but California is one of the most dishonest states for voting. That we are one of the safest states for voting. And and it's but this is the kind of stuff he's going to pull. I I would say Malcolm up to and including going to the Supreme Court saying, you know, you got to overturn this. It's you know, rigged.
It's fixed. It's whatever, right?
>> They won't. According to Rueben Giat, they'll they'll uphold whatever he says.
Look, this is a a time for and we've said this many times. It's time for people to turn out in the streets. Every time we entertain this mental illness of his, where he says these things. He's only speaking There's a crazy guy here in Greenland right now who's 82 years old, walks around in a suit with a purple tie, and promises Greenlanders $200,000 each if they sign a pro-Trump statement here. This guy lives off $2,000 of social security a month, but his mental illness from watching Fox News has him in Greenland thinking he's shilling for Trump.
Right.
Right. Those people out there, did you see the polls that Trump dominates 65 and above? And everyone 64 and below who doesn't show up gives him elections.
Yeah. Yeah. Well, I And also uh that's the Fox News audience. I hate to say it, right? I mean, it's it's But but they Yeah.
Uh all right. Well, Malcolm, fly safe home from uh Greenland. We look forward to you next week.
>> And good luck at the protest today. Yes.
Be safe. Oh, this protest is going to be massive. I'll send you Yes. Send videos.
>> audio and video.
>> All right. Yeah. All right. Love you.
See you.
