Warm week with a few temps close to the record highs by mid-week

[00:00:00]Let's get things over to first-alert chief meteorologist Dave Aguilera. Dave, it was warm out there today and we might be breaking some records later this week. I think we're going to do a lot of sweating this week. We made it in the mid-80s. Can you believe that? Just a day after Mother's Day. That's crazy. As we look out our weather window here, we are mostly clear. Skies have been a little bit hazy. We do have a little air quality issue which we'll talk about in a minute. Ozone levels might be up over the course of the next 24 hours. But we take a look at the satellite. Look at the clear skies from Denver down to Pueblo out to the western map as well.

[00:00:33]There's a few clouds though pushing into the northeastern corner of the state and that's actually a cold front that's just kind of dipping in that area. This will drop our temperatures by about 5° tomorrow. So, it'll be a cooler day but certainly not not too crazy the way things look right now. All right, let's take a look at the highs today, shall we? We made it to 85 at DIA, Boulder, Fort Collins, Kimball, Sterling, Holyoke. All 88° today. Trying to get 90 here. We did make it to 90 down in Lamar. 75 in Aspen Vail was at 80 today and 88 in Grand Junction. Everybody enjoying the heat. Problem with the heat though, it creates the ozone build-up that we typically see this time of year. So, we do have an air quality alert from Douglas County all the way up to the northern part of Larimer County. Mainly the cities along I-25. Ozone levels are unhealthy if you have any breathing issues or anything like that till 4:00 tomorrow afternoon. Here's the way things look now tonight. We might have a few clouds drifting over the northeast with that cold front coming through. But there's not a lot of moisture with this system. So, tomorrow we'll start out mostly sunny. clouds here and there and then the late hours of the afternoon into the evening could see some isolated showers in some of the mountains and maybe some virga popping around the Denver metro area. Not much in the way of moisture at all though. Temps tonight, 30s in the mountains will be 50s and 40s down low. And look at the highs tomorrow. Woo boy. we're going to cool down just a little bit but by cool down as I said about 5°. We made it to 85 today, we'll be close to 80 around our area tomorrow. 80s and 90s down to the southeast, 90s out west in Grand Junction. You might make it to 94 and it looks like another 80° day in Vail as well. Fort Collins areas, we look at the neighborhoods here. We are looking at about 79 at the CSU campus, Troutman Park, The Landings, Paragon Point, Fossil Lake, Fox Stone, all those neighborhoods right in the upper 80 upper 70s I should say to near 80° for most areas. Here's the super 7-day now for you. Let's take you in close and show you what we're looking at. 79 tomorrow, 89 on Wednesday and look at that record, 90 is the record on Wednesday. Might tie the record with a slight chance of a late day thunderstorm. On Thursday, 86 the record's 87, close to that. We clear out on Friday and make it to about 80° and then if you're wondering about the weekend here, holding on to the 80s through Sunday, little better chance of some of those isolated afternoon thunderstorms kicking in gear and then the next cold wave, if you could call it that, will be probably close to 69 on Monday of next week but we're not even worried about that now. We're just going to enjoy the early taste of summer we got rolling this week.
