Welcome back to ILV on the hour. I'm Devo Klein coming to you live from Israel with all of the latest developments and breaking news from the region. So, let's quickly recap all of the top headlines. In a dramatic escalation in the war with the Israeli Air Force conducted a wave of precision air strikes in Beirut's Dia neighborhood. This after nearly a month of quiet in the Lebanese capital.
According to Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Katz, the target of these strikes was a commander of the terror group's elite Radwan forces, the unit responsible for carrying out attacks against Israeli civilians and troops. The strikes mark the first time Israel has hit Beirut since before a ceasefire took effect on April 16th, underscoring the fragility of the current truce. Now, while there is no official confirmation from the IDF forbala on the outcome, Israeli leaders made clear that quote, "No terrorist has immunity," warning that Israel will continue to act against threats.
Meanwhile, the fighting on the ground is continuing. The newest threat by Kisbala, explosive laden PFV drones have entered have injured seven IDF soldiers in the past 24 hours. this according to the military. IDF chief of staffel Zamir visited troops in the field and emphasized that commanders now have full authority to use all available capabilities to locate and destroy all enemy positions. And meanwhile on the Iranian front, President Donald Trump says a deal with the Islamic regime in Iran could be just days away. Trump remains optimistic that a permanent end to the war is on the horizon. Take a listen to some of his recent statements.
In the case of Iran, we're not going to let Iran have a nuclear weapon and we're not going to let that happen. And uh we won't let that happen. And so we're uh we're dealing with people that want to make a deal very much and we'll see whether or not they can make a deal that's satisfactory to us. We have it very much under control. The blockade is unbelievable. The Navy has been incredible. The job they did, it's like a it's like a wall of steel. Nobody goes through. in particular the Iranians.
They're not getting anything through one way or the other. So, they're out of business. And we'll see whether or not uh they are agreeing. And if they don't agree, they'll end up agreeing shortly thereafter.
So, that's the way it is.
>> Trump's comments come despite heightened tensions in the Persian Gulf. Asencom says the American Navy has intercepted an Iranian flagged oil tanker that attempted to cross the straight of Hormuz despite the military blockade.
The military said the vessel ignored multiple warnings before it was intercepted and the ship has now been stopped and is no longer in route to Iran with SenCom adding that the blockade on Iranian shipping remains fully in force. And meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says that there will be no surprises in US Iranian negotiations for Israel.
Speaking at a weekly cabinet meeting, Netanyahu reiterated the close contact and coordination between Washington and Jerusalem. Take a listen.

Israel.
And in Gaza, the son of senior Hamas leader Khalil Alaya, who you may recognize as one of the last standing faces of Kamas, has been eliminated.
Reports claim that Israeli air strikes in Gaza City killed the him. Though there is no official confirmation from the IDF and few additional details have been released. This would mark the second loss in the family after another of Al-Qaeda's sons was killed in a previous strike targeting kamas leaders in 2025. The IDF did say that air strikes were carried out against armed cells that were identified approaching the ceasefire line and nearing troops on the ground posing an immediate threat.
This development comes as ongoing efforts to disarm Hamas produce little to no results and the fragile ceasefire remains stuck in the balance. And that's a wrap for this edition of ILV on the Hour. Thank you so much for watching.
