[00:00:00]Actually, before we came, um we had a big fight at home and we were sleeping in separate rooms. We didn't speak for 3 days and I was thinking to myself, "I'm really glad that we're going because this is literally our last resort." Oh my god, we are staying at a castle.

[00:00:16]Behind these castle walls, love will be tested. Feels surreal. I can't believe that we're in the UK. I've never been here before.

[00:00:26]It's beautiful. It's not as cold as I expected. I feel like I'm in the history book, you know, any kind of history book, you know. It's something else.

[00:00:40]Unbelievable. A lot of things happened there. I mean, they they keep it as itself. That's what I like, you know.

[00:00:47]They don't change a lot. Still very often. I feel like a king. Yeah, I feel like a real queen.

[00:00:55]I mean, when you found out that this opportunity was coming to you and it was going to take place here at a castle where you get to feel like a king and a queen, is that what made you say yes or was it more so the therapy part?

[00:01:06]Actually, I was a little thrown off at first because I was thinking last resort, somewhere tropical, somewhere like, you know, resort wear.

[00:01:15]And then I found out it's the UK and I was like, "Wait, I'm going to be bundled up clothing." Like, I guess I don't have to work out as hard >> [laughter] >> before filming.

[00:01:23]>> [gasps] >> Um so, it was a little bit of a shock relief. Then it settled in and we were excited. But the main reason we're here is for the therapy, of course. Yeah. So, what are some of those things that you really need to work on here at The Last Resort?

[00:01:35]Oh my god, where should we start?

[00:01:37]>> We have a lot of problems. I mean, but not very big, not very big, not unsolvable, but we as characters we look like each other. We are we were born in the same day as you all know and that's why our characters match each other a lot. And if we have a even a small problem, it becomes so big.

[00:01:57]>> Yeah. I think we thought our problems were really huge, but now that we're hearing the problems of other couples, we're realizing we're not so bad. We just went through like a sexual healing therapy session, which I didn't really have high hopes for because I thought the way things are the way it's probably always going to be in that department, but we actually made some headway.

[00:02:17]>> We don't have a sexual problem, but we're a little awkward. I mean, you will see it. I cannot tell details about it, but I am mostly awkward about it, but I'm getting healed.

[00:02:31]Isn't? No, babe. I'm strange.

[00:02:35]You're pretty peculiar.

[00:02:36]>> Unique. Unique. Unorthodox. Okay. That's more castlish castlish words.

[00:02:41]Unorthodox. Okay. And I tried a lot, you know, I'm I'm doing something I normally I'm skeptical about therapies, to be honest, because we tried before and yes, and it didn't work out. But here it goes well. And I'm shocked.

[00:02:58]>> good. Oh my god, they're amazing.

[00:02:59]>> And I'm shocked.

[00:03:01]I wasn't expecting that because I mean, I want to solve my issues and if it's the last hope, let me try it. That was my mindset, but right now I'm seeing it's really working. Yeah. We wish we could take these therapists back to LA with us because they're amazing. They're so talented, so good.

[00:03:18]They're really helping us. Do you know why I'm wearing this wig today? For handyman?

[00:03:23]No. [laughter] >> You look so beautiful for a handyman.

[00:03:25]>> I'm wearing this because you've been stressing me out so much that I think I'm losing my hair. We've had a lot of communication struggles, so we're learning how to communicate better and then when we do have big arguments, there's explosive language, there's things that are really damaging that happens and it takes a situation from from bad to worse and then we don't recover well, so we're learning how to use new tools to recover better from those arguments and I think it's helping. I mean, it's up to us at the end of the day to really implement these tools that we're being given, so >> Yeah. We have to see if we can maintain it back home. I mean, we have some specific homeworks. You know, I cannot tell details, but I mean Yeah. it's really working. Okay, you know, I mean, I wasn't expecting that much. It's I'm not talking about only about sexual, but about marriage things. Uh it's really working.

[00:04:18]>> And we're doing our homework. We're not cheating. Yeah, I Yeah, at least she's trying. I love that.

[00:04:23]>> At least you're trying.

[00:04:24]>> Sometimes I have to remind you some words, you know, I mean, some words that we were using when we were together first. I mean, when we were lovey-dovey in Turkey, everything. Then I don't know how, but he stopped using those words.

[00:04:38]>> those sweet words, and they're Turkish words, so they mean a lot to Sarper. And over time, I just kind of stopped saying them. I was saying babe, or you know, like American terms of endearment. And the Turkish ones mean a lot more to him, so I'm using them more. The one that he likes the most is aşkım. [music] It means my love.

[00:04:56]>> Yeah. So, I'm saying it like he's making me say it all the time.

[00:04:59]>> whenever she says something is turning on inside of my and I when I was talking with therapist, I I I mean, it's I noticed that. Yes, she's not using this word.

[00:05:11]>> drop. So, I didn't know that. So, that was So, this is an advice whoever watching us, this is an advice. I mean, if you're a international couple let him or her learn your language some love words. Yeah, just a few It really helps.

[00:05:27]>> Really nice. Yeah. So, it sounds like you really do believe The Last Resort can save your marriage.

[00:05:32]It's looking good so far. I think that we're >> We will see. I mean >> We're already making progress. We have a lot of things, I mean, not >> [music] >> everything is Yeah, I mean, overwhelming because I was in the middle of comedy tour of my career mean, a comedian and I left everything to be to solve this because this is the most important thing. It's more important than my comedy thing.

[00:05:56]Yeah, I mean I if my relationship is healthy, everything in my life goes healthy.

[00:06:32]And we have to see if we can maintain these new things that we're trying from therapy. So, we'll see how it goes.

[00:06:40]Sometimes resetting is good, you know, I mean coming to UK, talking therapist, and seeing other couples which have problems like us, worse than us. I mean it makes at least I mean we are not the only couple that dealing [music] with those. It shows us and it becomes more thing.

[00:06:59]If you look that way, yeah, it is it can call it last resort, really, for our And we're not here to build relationships with the other couples. We're here to work on our relationship. So, we're not trying to get distracted by all the noise that's going on around and you know, it's been hard.

[00:07:24]It's been challenging. There's a lot of personalities here. We don't mesh well with everyone.

[00:07:30]Some of these people are people we would never really hang out with, you know, in the outside world. So, we're getting put in environments where we're you know, interacting with people that are not really our vibe. So, it's have making some, you know, Yeah, we have picky about couple friends. We have picky also in Los Angeles like this. I mean, we have not many >> Yeah, we're kind of friends. We just stay together and fight with each other.

[00:07:56]And it is difficult here. And because none none of them looks like each other as character wise. There are some great ones, but there are some one not at all. Who has surprised you most when getting to know them?

[00:08:13]I think Jenny and Semeda are our favorites. We love them. They're just the most adorable humans I've ever met.

[00:08:20]>> Yes. I mean They're just so authentic and sweet and innocent and they truly love each other. Like you can just see it. They're never leaving each other like they have big [music] problems.

[00:08:31]Like bigger than us and we just start like, "Oh my god, we have so much to be thankful for because they're overcoming obstacles I could never imagine."

[00:08:39]Yeah. They're great. I mean, they're my favorites for sure. And by far. I just want to put them in my pocket and take them home.

[00:08:47]>> [laughter] >> Yeah. Yes. And who would you say are the drama starters? Who's causing the trouble at the resort?

[00:09:05]How would you rate the drama so far on a scale of 1 to 10? I'd say it's a 10 out of 10. 11.

[00:09:11]Believe me. Yeah, there was glass flying at my face last night. Claws were out.

[00:09:31]We opened ourselves up to criticism a long time ago when we agreed to do the show. So, we've been used to a lot of outside feedback coming in. Um so, you know, we take it with a grain of salt.

[00:09:42]We know our true issues. People are going to give us their perspectives and their, you know, version of what they're seeing, but we know what's really going on in our relationship, so um and we're here for the feedback, too, because I think that that's only going to help us grow is to see, you know, how other people perceive us.

[00:10:00]>> difficult, in my opinion, because we both of us, I mean, we are we don't like to be criticized. We have a big pride ego.

[00:10:09]And if someone criticize us, we don't believe it right away because I mean, first, I mean, I'm not thinking that way because whatever I think is right. I'm talking in your behalf, too.

[00:10:21]Yeah. I know you, too, because you don't accept it, but that's right.

[00:10:26]We need a therapist. Bring a therapist to us, right now.

[00:10:28]>> [laughter] >> Well, if you want there, how has the public opinion and all of the noise from you people watching you on TV affected your relationship? It affects a lot. I mean, at first it was more. Right now, it changed. We got used to it because you get used to it. But first, yeah, it was because everyone has an opinion and you cannot shut the Yeah. F up the people's mouth, you know.

[00:10:54]>> sword because in one way it's kind of nice because for me I'm like, you're doing this to me and I don't like it and he's like, oh, you know, you just think that, but when he's hearing it all over the comments and news and it's like, okay, everyone is seeing me do this, maybe I should do something about it, you know? Yeah. [music] Um last season was a little hard for me. People thought that I was mean to Sarp. And I was like, you guys do not see how much I put up with.

[00:11:19]And >> [laughter] >> so, that's hard is when the perception is a little bit skewed, you know, and people think >> And then you cannot know, you know? You can't truly know.

[00:11:28]>> Something happens and you say that, oh my god, people will react this so much when they watch it.

[00:11:34]But you they don't react that way. I mean, you cannot guess what people think. Yeah.

[00:11:38]>> going to take things. It's a surprise always. Watch and see the all details, see it and then Yeah, I would say just wait till the whole season comes out before you start judging characters in the very beginning because different faces emerge and different sides of people come out. So it's an evolution.

[00:11:59]Yeah. What are you ultimately hoping to take away from this experience?

[00:12:04]I'm hoping to take away new ways to problem-solve, communicate, um, >> [music] >> new ways to have sex.

[00:12:12]>> [laughter] >> A lot of things that will save, you know, this marriage because we think we have something special and we don't want to lose it. His dad always says we didn't, you know, cross oceans to drown in puddles and I really feel like that's one of the main reasons why we're here is because we overcame a lot and to lose it all for these small issues, you know, would be a shame.

[00:12:33]And we have a Turkish saying [music] we say, of course we have we didn't come here to eat fish, we came here to learn how to catch fish. So, I mean, right now it's not the thing that, okay, we are good, we will be good and we are going back.

[00:12:53]No, we will learn how to deal with our problems because both of us are so have stubborn and so we have to change that.

[00:13:03]We have some tactics. I hope it will work. Yes, catch those fish. Catch to catch that fish. At this point, how would you describe your relationship today?

[00:13:12]Today we're good. Every day change, honey.
