Nigeria to Citizens in South Africa: "No Free Flights Home – Return at Your Own Cost Nigerian gover?Added:
In Nigeria, the government of Nigeria says well, Nigerians in South Africa, if you want to come home, don't expect government to do what Ghana has done.
They are not taking any plane and putting Nigerians in them bringing them to Ghana I mean to Nigeria [laughter] as we have done. They say find your way yourself and get back to Nigeria. Don't expect Nigeria to do what Ghana has done. That's what the government of Nigeria is saying. We'll be back shortly. Stay with us.
>> Guys, I want you to watch this video to the end. I just chance on a live stream where some Ghanaians in South Africa are complaining that you know, they are recei- they've started receiving calls from their relatives back home that they should come back home and there is xenophobia going there. They are beating them there. Whereas they are saying there's nothing as such happening there.
That the people that were repatriated, they don't even like what the people that were repatriated back to Ghana are saying. According to them, those that were repatriated back to Ghana, they were you know, some Ghanaians there that they have no document. They were even looking for a free ticket to even come back home already. Those are the people which with all these things happening, they are even thankful to God that this thing is happening and they are coming back home.
But as they are getting back home, the things they are hearing some of them say that there is xenophobia, they are beating them, their families are calling them and then they are pleading with them and then the Ghanaian government that they've been in South Africa legally for long and what is happening now is just a protest whereby the South Africans are protesting that they don't want illegal migration in their country.
So to them, they are saying if you are there illegally, this is the time for you to either get your rightful documentation or if you feel you want to go back home, you go back home peacefully. But the more they are saying things like they are beating them and they are doing this and they which is not true, they are saying it's going to put them that are there legally at risk and then they are pleading with everybody.
There is no xenophobia going on there.
They are not beating anybody there. If you are in South Africa and you are a Ghanaian, if you have your legal documentation, just stay safe, stay okay. Anytime the authorities come, show them your legal documentation, you are good to go.
And they are also pleading with the Ghanaians that want to stir tension where there is no tension. You guys will cause problem for your Ghanaians living in South Africa.
>> As you can see in the news, there was a a flyer that is flying out right now.
There's some certain flyer and that flyer is that uh June June 4 Ghanaians are going out to protest, massive protest. Nobody I don't know whether my Ghanaians or or some certain group who organizing their selves say that they want to go and protest. I no just know because Ghanaians are law-abiding. But those people that are returning from South Africa to Ghana, among among among them, they are not law-abiding this time around. So, do you remember that in Ghana Ghanaians fighting Nigerian for illegal immigrant in Ghana. You will see now. So, the reason why you should not do this protest. This protest is If you mistakenly do this protest, you don't spoil everything.
Yes, you don't spoil everything. If I be you, you should not even if you are going to protest against Nigeria to leave your country, that is fine. That one is you even making sense. But if I be you, don't even try. As a Ghanaian I'm advising Ghanaians. You people I'm advising you. If I be you Ghanaians, you cannot even try to go on to go to the street to say oh you are protesting against South African, that is a big disgrace. If you people go outside there to do that, it's a big disgrace. The reason why it's a big disgrace is that according to the news that is flying on social media, you know, nobody say everybody know. They say that they they deport almost 300 Ghanaian No, the government repatriate almost 300 Ghanaians to to Ghana, right? And inside minus minus 10 inside 300 are legit. They are those people 10 of them are living legit in South Africa.
The remaining all of them are illegal immigrant.
You see now?
The same thing you are fighting and the same thing you do in another people country. So, if I be gone if I be you, I know Ghanaians will not even those one who are going to do all these things I will not even think they are they are part of you because Ghanaians they no go do this thing because it's a disgrace.
It's a disgrace. It's a pure disgrace.
No even I see the flyer because what are you going to protest?
If you are protesting about Nigerian, that is fine. That one is making sense.
You can if I be you now, you can this is opportunity. You can go out and say illegal Nigerian because Nigerians are the people who are disrupting Ghanaians in Ghana, right? You can go to social media and say, "Oh, illegal mean Nigerian to return back to their country." It's well understanding, but don't even try to say you are going out to go and protest. What are you going to protest against South Africa? How many South Africans is in Ghana?
How many South Africans? That is the question. What are you going to protest for?
How many South Africans? If you go let me even tell you one thing since we're talking today. If you the uh normally before before people are talking about Nigerians have a bank in Ghana. Let me tell you if you go those bank in Ghana, Ghanaians are the one working there. Because I've been some bank in Ghana when I was they were they would send me from office. I would go to the bank there to go and deposit money for them or from my office. If you go there now, Ghanaians did there. No Nigerian there operating there. That mean the bank was open, but people who are working there are Ghanaians. The same thing South Africa where you are talking about the bigness of the because I see in the flyer, they say DSTV. Who are the people using DSTV? South African uh Ghanaians. Who are the people working there? Ghanaians. What are you going to prove? The South African their self safe. They are not many. We are not even jump South African before. Apart of The only way you can jump South African, you have to go to their community, which is the place where they the embassy there. So, when I see the flyer that they are going to they are going to do it in they are going to protest against South African. I don't know what you are going to protest. You should be able to achieve about South Africa repatriating 300 Ghanaians from from there. They repatriate, you know, 300 Ghanaians from South African. And minus 10 of them having legit document. And you say you are going to protest. Say you are angry.
When you yourself you don't want illegal migrant in your country. You even Ghanaians do not want illegal Nigerian migrant in in in Ghana.
Let us imagine that South African is not West Africa.
If it would be West Africa, no problem.
But South African the place we actually we need to get visa before we go there. South African is not West African.
It's not like West Africa we don't need visa to enter one another. So, that one should be even different case. But this one if it's South African, what are you going to protest about? I know some of you will not like this thing and some of you it doesn't concern me. This thing is a shameful thing to me normally. If you say you are a Ghanaian and you are coming out to say you want to go and protest. Say South African you are just although Ghanaians will not do this thing because according to the slogans of Ghanaians, Ghanaians are law-abiding.
But this time around the case of this South African now it does not sound like that slogan does not go in with the legit Ghanaians. So, you people should just respect yourself and be I hope you understand. You people should respect yourself. Those people who are going to say they are going to do protest. Don't respect yourself and be.
It doesn't even go well. I hope you I know some of you will come and insult me. You know my thing. I'm telling you the truth. Because you want the illegal Nigerian to go back. And that is why what I be expecting you to go out there to protest. Not a South African. They do the South African not do you anything. They do their duty. That is what you should do.
Now, you now go out there and search for illegal illegal in Nigeria and deport them back to Nigeria. That is correct.
Then, that one even better than say how many South Africans are going to find it.
>> I want to show you something. You see these all stores? This is a small town where I work. All these shops, you see?
Some are closed. Some This one is closed.
A lot of them are closed. You see the one there is closed. The blue one is closed. You see all these stores?
Yeah?
You see it's closed?
You will not see anybody here.
Small village.
It's not even a size of Nima.
This is not even a size of Nima.
Eh?
You see all these shops?
It's a government shop.
Nobody is selling around here, oh. You see? Government shop that they rent to their citizens or anybody that is naturalized or he got this thing to to trade in Europe.
They are not here even if you are a foreigner. This is where you have to come and get it. They are not here to sell on the street. Look.
Look, village. This is their school. One of their school, college.
This is a college school.
We are late in Africa, oh.
Nobody is selling on the street. Look.
If somebody This is their bus stop.
This is their bus stop.
Nobody is selling on the street. Look.
Nobody. Who they selling in the street?
I greet you, my brother.
Um I have seen a video on your platform where a Nigerian guy was trying to challenge South Africans that he's looking ahead to see South Africans can do on that day, which is 30th June um in this year.
You see, this guy is trying to ignite more fire into the fire which is already there.
And instead of being to uh call upon his government to do exactly what Ghanaians uh foreign affairs minister has done, he's rather provoking South Africans. And he thinks South Africans they are like Ghanaians.
Huh.
I've I've already said that if you're looking for men in Africa, South Africans are the men.
You see?
Um this guy seems like he does not even know who South Africans are, and they will show him who they are. I know.
I'm not trying to um support the violence, but we must be truthful.
You know, we must be sincere that uh all those things that we are observing in South Africa, it's all because of Nigerians.
The truth must be said.
Because uh what sort of uh brought all the um flood and disasters happening in South Africa, it's came from the result of the attitudes of Nigerians being provoking South Africans, telling them that they have impregnated South African ladies, and out of these pregnancies, um their seed will become the next president of South Africa, which was a very provocative message that nobody would like to hear.
Again, they installed themselves as kings in South Africa during that uh Igbo coronation day, which also provoked them, and it brought about all these incidences that we are seeing in South Africa.
They have been selling cocaine and other hard drugs to their youths, which is destroying them.
And people couldn't pay attention to those negative behaviors which Nigerians were putting on the land of South Africa.
But the moment that South Africans started to retaliate, it became a news across the globe which people are describing them with another kinds of words, words for me I do not agree with them.
Um the best thing that Nigerians have to do is to accept to go back to their country as Ghanaians have as Ghanaians have already done.
You know, we are the kind of people that um we respect people's opinion.
If we come to your area or your space and you don't want us, we easily find our our our ourselves um you know, simple way. We'll make our simple way. We will not force ourselves on you since you don't want us. That is the nature of Ghanaians and that's what makes a Ghanaian so different from other people.
You know, we are the kind of people that uh if if you if we come to you and you don't want us or you are we are not welcomed, we don't force ourselves on you. We'll make our simple way to make sure we keep peace which is already there.
And that's what Nigerians can never do.
You understand?
And um another thing, I want to applaud Akwasi Ablaqua for this uh initiative that you took to go to the aid of Ghanaians and then bring them back home.
You know, because South Africans say they don't want you.
And uh as we uh understand understandable people and we are cultured and civilized people, we have to give them um uh what they are demanding for.
And that's what we have done. So, I'm looking ahead to see that Nigerians uh can also do the same. If they If Nigerians resist not to do it, means what I said the other time that they are bastard is true.
It and then then it means they don't have parents. They don't have home. And they don't have hope. That's why they cannot go back to their uh origin.
But because Ghanaians, we have hope and we have um a place, that's why we are making our simple way back to our land.
You understand?
And then for me, I will keep supporting South Africans because um South Africans want every African nation to be developed. That's why they are saying we should go and hold our leaders.
Yes, they are saying we should go and hold our leaders for our leaders to to fix our countries for us. So, imagine that all African countries are developed.
My brother, let's capture this this this let's picture this.
If all African countries are developed and work opportunities are there, which African member will moving to another space another African country to go and destroy their peace?
Eh? Because all that you are there for is is is for you to have a better life, to have money, be able to be able to enjoy life.
You understand? And if you're having all those things in your country, what is it going to make you move to other country?
What is it?
This is this is this is the situation that This is what we have to understand.
This is This is the situation we all have to come together and think about it.
That assuming Ghana is developed assuming Nigeria is developed, assuming Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cote d'Ivoire, all African countries are developed and there are many job opportunities there, which member will be invading at others?
Eh? Which member will be going there for anything like greener pasture? Which member?
Because you have it in your country. You can only visit and then explore what you you have never seen in your life.
You can only visit and come back. That's that that will be the only thing that we will will be doing.
Are you getting it? So, for me that is this is why I keep supporting Sarbah can so because I know they are helping other African African nations to develop their spaces so that their their their members will be no moving around and then be causing chaos.
Are you getting it?
So, for me to end my my message I want to once again applaud Akuffo-Addo for bringing back for bringing Ghanaians back to their their destinations.
You know, and I'm looking ahead that the promises that they have given they it will be a genuine promise that Ghanaians will be enjoying what they supposed to enjoy because our resources money and the taxpayers money that they are using to you know, give scholarship to foreign student should be used on Ghanaians.
The money that they are spending unnecessary, those money must be spent on Ghanaians. Ghanaians have to feel that yes, this is what we have and this is what belongs to us. It shouldn't those money shouldn't be spent on foreigners.
Are you getting my point? This is why I will keep supporting what Sarbah can do because if they did not do that, if Sarbah can do it did not ask Ghanaians or did not ask people to leave their country.
The promises that Ghanaians are receiving right now, they wouldn't have received them. They wouldn't have received them.
The all those um things that they put in place to make sure that Ghanaians can enjoy those things they will not enjoy if South Africans did not ask them to go back to their country. Have you seen where I'm I'm supporting Have you seen reasons why I'm supporting South Africans? Yes, because um me for me I have seen that out of what oppression that South Africans are doing, it is what Ghanaians are now going to enjoy on their own soil.
You understand me? See, so this is um how I'm going I'm coming to land my my message today that I will keep supporting South Africans because I want every African nation to be developed.
Thank you.
