Low pressure systems create strong winds that, combined with low humidity, elevate fire danger, particularly in high country areas where dry air sinks on the leeward side of mountain ranges.

Windy conditions and fire risk as cooler air moves in追加:
Tracking your most accurate forecast.
I'm meteorologist Justin Hans. We have some windy conditions on the way to state 48 as we head into our Wednesday.
Gust here in the valley could be anywhere from 20 to 30 miles per hour.
Would not be surprised we get even some 40s up in the high country. We also have a red flag warning in place for some of you in the high country as well. All thanks to a storm that's moving into the west and that's going to help pull those temperatures down. There's that area of low pressure that's going to bring us the winds. You see our lines here, our pressure lines getting close together.
That means the winds are picking up.
This stays in place. going to peak on Wednesday, but we're still going to feel some breezes even as we wrap up the work week. It's not going to be till the weekend we really see these winds start to back off for us. That low will eventually lift off to the north. High pressure gradually building its way back and that's going to send the temperatures back into the triple digits as we head into the next week. Until then, we'll enjoy the cool down that's in store to wrap up the work week.
There's a look at those winds as we head into our Wednesday. Gust 20 again to 25 to 30 even miles per hour here in the valley. up in the high country 35 to 40 miles per hour. Now over towards the Colorado River in Mojave County, we could see those gusts up to 50 miles per hour. A wind advisory is going to be in place through the early part of the morning. We'll see if there's any extension in these advisories we head into the day as again winds are going to be strong across much of the state. Now, as that air does go up along the Mojian rim and goes on the leeward side, that northeast side of the rim, it's dry air that's sinking and that's why you have the red flag warning where it is located. It's a windslow page. Going to have an elevated fire risk here as we head into our Wednesday. So, everyone be careful though as we see these winds pick up for the middle of our week. For the valley, we'll start the morning out 70° 87 by our lunch hour, only climbing to 95. Elsewhere across the state, we still have some 30s there for Flagstaff.
40s at the canyon and along the rim.
Sholu at 47, 50° over Presc. We'll look for 60s and 70s across the high country, Sedona, and 80 mid 80s across western Arizona towards Bullhead City. So overall not looking too bad and temperatures even get better from there.
We're dropping down to 93° by the time we head into our Friday and overnight lows upper to mid60s here across the valley. So make some Friday afternoon and evening plans especially because it is going to feel great out there especially for late May. Unfortunately we say goodbye to these below average temperatures as we head closer to the end of the weekend. As that ridge of high pressure builds in so do the high temperatures. We're back to the triple digits starting on Sunday and then as we head into next week looking really warm.
We have a few clouds moving in but Monday we're at 104 degrees and then as we head into Tuesday highs up to 106.
