[00:00:04]Well, amid race for post within the Karnataka cabinet, now there is hectic lobbying that's taking place. Congress insider H.K. Patil has spoken to CNN News18 giving inside information on what the next government could look like, what the upcoming DKS era could look like.

[00:00:42]>> At the same time, a lot of focus on the BJP saying that vote bank that Mr. Siddaramaiah has managed to grow over the years, the Ahinda vote bank. That might get scattered. Do you think that's the case? He'll continue to mentor the party?

[00:01:02]Siddaramaiah is in forefront of all these changes happening, you know.

[00:01:09]Not only that, he is resigning from the post.

[00:01:14]It is he without any high command man being present, he declares, he openly says that next chief minister will be Shivakumar. What do that mean?

[00:01:39]And all this has led for enhancement of his stature, not only his stature, but for the strengthening of the Congress party.

[00:01:49]>> [snorts] >> At the same time, it's a party that has more than 135 odd MLAs. A lot of aspirants. Is it going to be a tough task sir deciding on cabinet births, who will get it, the cast and regional balances that need to be maintained?

[00:02:03]>> Cabinet uh making all the time is a difficult process.

[00:02:10]But however, for Congress, it is not that difficult because uh uh there's a high command. Everyone listens to high command. And I don't think that there will be any difficulty in uh cabinet making.

[00:02:27]>> My final question to you, how has the last 3 years been satisfactory for you as a law minister? Some important bills that were brought in during uh your term over the last 3 years. And also, how do you look forward to the next cabinet, sir?

[00:02:41]>> As regards my tenure as law minister, parliamentary affairs, and tourism, I'm very well contented man.

[00:02:52]I'm proud of my department's record.

[00:02:58]See, law and parliamentary affairs together, with the assistance of Kilpar 2, we have made the national record in parliamentary affairs activities.

[00:03:15]We are the first in the country.

[00:03:19]As regards legislations done in uh any states for that matter in India, we have been able to make 170 enactments during last 3 years.

[00:03:38]We have made laws which have been intended for transformation of life of people.

[00:03:48]We have made laws to unearth the ill-gotten money from those who are committers of crime. See, these are the appreciation also from various quarters and all these achievements naturally makes me happy.
