LOVE MOUNTAIN RIVERS?? MUST WATCH! - Greenbrier Section of GSMNPAdded:
All right, good Saturday afternoon everybody. We're going to make just a little short nature video here. We're just going to drive up into the Greenbryer section of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This is a section uh that's very secluded and there's not a lot of people up in it. Uh there are some though and we've never filmed up in here before. We've driven it, but we've never actually done a video. So, uh we just kind of wanted to get out of the cabin a little bit. So, we're going to drive up here to Greenbryer and uh show you some nice river shots hopefully. and let's just see what it looks like. You ready to go?
>> I am ready.
>> Okay, let's do it.
Okay, so driving into Green Bryer now.
And Ramsay Cascades. That's one we're going to have to do when we got more time. That's a waterfall 5 miles round trip. We don't have time today, but >> yeah, we do need to plan that.
>> Yeah, the road is still terrible. Please watch for potholes. change another tire.
>> We'll just go real slow.
>> Yeah. Last time we uh not last time, first time we drove it through here, the road was so bad I ended up with a flat tire.
>> Was it dirt then or was it pave?
>> I thought it was dirt, but that pavement does not look new. So, I'm just going to guess it was a pile in the pavement.
>> That's where we had to change tire.
>> Yes. Up there to the right where I had to change my tire. Well, no. No, I thought No, it wasn't. I thought it was by We were by a building. There was like a ranger station.
>> Oh, that must have been the other one we just passed.
>> Yeah.
>> All right. There we getting some uh rushing water. So, anywhere we can pull to the side.
>> I want to get that maybe.
>> Well, let's see right here up here.
>> Let's pull back up into there. We're going to show you something pretty. As y'all know, I love Smoky Mountain Rivers. And well, I think we're going to get some pretty shots.
So, this is looking up the river back towards the entrance.
Just look how clear that water looks.
Clear greenish color.
Heat. Heat.
Thank you.

Okay, so just riding along the river again. We're just going to look for several more pulloffs like that.
That was very calm and relaxing.
>> Very pretty.
>> I could see myself spending about 6 hours by that river.
>> It'd be nice if we had a house next to a river. Just open up the window and listen to it.
>> Yes, it would.
This road's terrible, but the views are very nice.
>> There's like some good calm spots that you can go out and wait in. Yeah, sure are.

If I remember right up here at the end, there is going to be a bridge that we're going to walk out on.
>> Yeah, that's what I remember.
>> Maybe even a little pavilion area. Does that sound right?
>> Oh, I don't know. I don't remember.
Could be.
>> And of course, it's a nice little road to just walk.
>> It is >> like she's doing.
So, I think up there is where I changed my >> Oh, yeah. I think you're right on that.
my tire.
>> And if you're here for any length of time, they have a parking tag machine up there.
>> Yeah. So, that's good information. Um, again, I'm sorry. Go ahead.
>> I just saw it's not a damaged road ahead.
>> Yeah. Okay. I think it's turning the dirt. I think you were right about the flat tire. So, let's not repeat that if it's >> No, it's not.
>> At least my truck has a fullsize flat tire. This has a little donut. Um, yeah.
So, you can get a parking tag here. And again, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park does require a parking tag if you are parked more than 15 minutes in one spot. You can park 14 minutes in a spot and move to another spot, but 15 minutes does require parking tag. In other words, if you're going to hike or bring a picnic or something. Yeah, >> it's going to be there for a while.
>> Yeah, watch that hole there. That might been that might have been the one.
Well, I hope we don't meet anybody on this apartment.
Going to the video is going to get a little jumpy there. And no Sarah, do you say that? Then we meet somebody little spot.

>> They don't mow it, but it would still be a beautiful place to come for a picnic.
>> Oh, yeah.
>> [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Oh yeah, here's the bridge. Yeah.
>> So, we have reached as far as we're going to go. Anyway, it says Grapeyard Ridge Trail 3.2, Roaring Fork Road 7.6 miles. So, you can actually walk over to uh Roaring Fork >> and there's >> Ramsey Cascade Porter Creek Trail one mile >> picnic shelter shelter. 4. So, I see a spring trip next year coming up here.
>> Just park over here on the side. You think?
>> Oh, look at that river there. We got to get out. Yeah, actually up there to the left. Oh, okay.
>> Yeah, that's what I do. We're going to get some nice shots here with the camera.

Well, thank you so much for coming along with us on this uh driving tour of Greenbryer section of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. What did you think of it, Sean?
>> It's a beautiful drive and the road's narrow in some places and wasn't quite as bumpy as what I remembered it to be.
>> No, there's still a few places where you want to be really careful, but yeah, a lot of it was is okay, just narrow.
>> Mhm. in some spots.
So, um this is going to be mostly like a nature video of the river and things like that. And uh it's suddenly become very popular place. There's three cars coming right now.
>> We've been alone for a while.
>> And I got the tripod on the bridge here.
So, I hope none of them are wanting to turn on the bridge. So, um anyway, um this is absolutely beautiful. I can't believe we haven't come up in here more than what we have. Um, you know, I think most people come back up in here because they want the solitude of nature. They want to get away from the uh the towns.
Um, and I even hate to say this, but we had a guy come through here. He he made like three or four passes in a blue Ford Bronco, and he saw we were trying to record the river and things like that, and he made it a point to speed and drive as fast as he could, kick up as much dust as he could. One time he came through with his uh radio blaring and just you could feel the vibration, you know, like when you're at a stoplight.
Um, I guess if he sees that, dude, just go on back to Pigeon Forge and ride go-karts or something. That's that's about the speed you're on. Uh, obviously does not get the national park experience. So, I'm not against riding go-karts. That's fine. But, uh, when you come out here, you're trying to get away from the radios and the music and all that stuff, and you're trying to enjoy God's creation. So, uh, this river is absolutely beautiful. We hope you've enjoyed this.
>> Uh, what a place. Uh, I can see us coming back here in the spring and in the fall.
>> So, next year, look forward to at least two more videos from Greenbryer. Uh, it's a very isolated section of the park, or at least it's it's less traveled than than the rest of it. So, uh, it's a great place to get away and just spend a day with a picnic, lunch, spend some time in the river or what have you. So, we got a car coming down the bridge now. So, if you like this video, like and subscribe.
>> Give it a thumbs up and find and follow us on Facebook.
>> Have a blessed day.
