We've got um some weathers to discuss for you today and that weather um is mostly really good. In fact, we're looking at lots of clear skies, sunshine, and just heat that's going to build as we head into the upcoming weekend. So, come on in, stay a while, let me know where you're watching from, if you have a question, comment, or a concern. Things are looking nice out there for today.

Love to hear from you out there today. Temperatures are pretty hot inland. Uh in fact, uh it's in the mid 80s right now. Orlando, 85 in Claremont, 85 in Leburg, 86 in the Villages, 88 in Gainesville, 80 in Daytona.

[00:01:28]79 in New Smyrna, 82 in Melbourne, 82 in Go Beach, and 87 in Winter Haven. So, if you're stepping out for tonight, it should remain pretty dry. So, let me give you your road map of what we're going to talk about over the next half hour. Uh we're going to talk about the year and the now. Um nationally, the headlines include lots of storms in the Midwest. We'll go through that and then we'll go through the weekend, which I do think the weekend's going to have um a decent amount of shower and thunder activity late Saturday into Sunday. So, we're going to track that for you as well. And if you have a question, a comment or concern, uh love to hear from me here on our Weather Plus stream. All right, so Storm Tracker radar is clear right now. And in fact, on the satellite across Florida, uh most of it's pretty dry. See here, this is a oneh hour loop. Uh we've got a little bit of cloud.

[00:02:26]Make this red so it's easier to see. Um we've got a little bit of little bit of clouds here. Those are not an impact. Um you can see the flow over I'll turn off the city so you can see it. The flow over Florida is like this.

[00:02:43]got a northeast wind. Uh notice right on the beaches of the east coast, it's pretty sunny. See, it's pretty sunny.

[00:02:51]Hardly any clouds. And then you get inland and we've got these popcorny type clouds out there, uh which you can see on the sky cameras.

[00:02:59]Um but yeah, most places are dry today.

[00:03:02]And the interesting thing about down here, which is pretty fascinating, you've got um clouds on the east side of Lake Okachchobee. Uh, and no clouds on the west side. Fascinating because the wind is blowing again like this from the northeast. And what's going on here is that the Lake Okachchobee temps are pretty cool. Uh, they're only probably in the 60s. So, you get clouds that form over the hot land here. The air gets over the lake and it doesn't do anything. And then the air that's blowing out here is so cool there's no clouds until it warms back up over here.

[00:03:41]That's when you get clouds. So, it's fascinating to see uh down here in South Florida. Uh you've got clouds, no clouds, and then clouds. Just a fascinating little meteorological thing to point out. Uh but yeah, again, on the on the radar across Florida today, things are dry and should remain dry uh today and tomorrow. Now, Thursday, I do think there's a sneaky little risk of a severe thunderstorm in our northern counties uh in the afternoon. I haven't put that together yet graphically. I'll show you roughly in the models here in a few minutes, but uh Thursday afternoon, maybe like Flaggler, Valuchia, St. John's, Gainesville, Putnham counties, I could see a severe storm or two. We'll track that for you as well.

[00:05:50]It's quiet tonight uh locally, but a lot of storms in the Midwest. Lot a lot a lot a lot of storm. Let me turn off the special weather statements. Those kind of get cluttered. Um, and you can see a couple of things. First, we've got a tornado watch that's in effect for this big area that's outlined like this. So, big area of a tornado watch.

[00:06:14]And then we've got severe thunderstorm watch in yellow. Now, of note, there's going to be some sizable severe storms around the Dallas area. Um, Dallas Fort Worth is going to get some pretty big pretty big storms tonight in a way that they don't always get. In fact, there actually is a level four risk of severe storms today and tonight uh in the Dallas area. And you can see here up in the top right, significant. Not normally do they get uh that high of a threat, but just broadly speaking, there is a sizable risk area for today and tonight.

[00:06:53]You see that here and again it extends from about the the Dallas metroplex all the way to about uh western Alabama and then kind of does a triangle up into South Missouri like that. Now tomorrow uh there might be some risk of severe storms in Florida. Uh you could see that here there is that marginal risk up here from like Tallahassee to Panama City. Uh a possible mode of severe storms. Then Thursday, it's not outlined yet, but this area here, I actually could see um a severe storm risk Thursday. It's not outlined yet. Uh but effectively, this is going to move that way and we should get some storms uh on Thursday.

[00:07:40]It's not currently outlined in there, but we'll talk about that uh as well.

[00:07:45]So, there's the uh radar right now.

[00:07:48]There's all the warnings. You can see uh several tornado warnings here northwest of Dallas uh out into southern Oklahoma.

[00:07:56]A little bit of a severe storm outside of Tulsa. Couple of severe storms in southern Missouri. Uh then a bunch of severe storms here. One tornado storm going towards Jonesboro, Arkansas. One towards Memphis. Uh so definitely a lot of storms here, but that's to be expected for being in this time of the year. Now on the uh colorized satellite, you could definitely see definitely see um all of the storms in the heartland in the Midwest. And uh some of this, there's a front draped like this. That front is eventually going to swing in here and we will get I think a chance of weather uh Saturday night into Sunday across central Florida and we're going to track that for you as well. But big storms to the north today and tonight.

[00:08:53]Uh and on the visible satellite you can see that really really big storms here.

[00:08:57]Uh a lot of storms on this we call that a dry line here coming out of the Midwest. Uh and then storms on a cold front here. Uh and then up here, major coastal low pushing air down like this and then it kind of gets sucked up like that. So there's a lot lot going on uh right now across the southeast with the weather.

[00:09:19]So that's kind of your diagnosis of the right here and the right now. All right.

[00:09:23]So temperatures tonight are probably going to dip for the most part into the 60s. It's going to be kind of a mild night. Uh it doesn't really look like there's going to be uh any chance of rain. Upper 60s around Orlando, mid60s on the beaches, probably low 70s. Cocoa Beach, Melbourne, uh low to mid60s the villages, Claremont, Winter Haven. There might be some fog tonight. I don't think it's a lot, but there'll be some fog tomorrow. Uh we should get into the 90s in most places that are away from the immediate beaches. Uh 92 in the Lamb, 92 tomorrow in Sanford, 92 in Claremont.

[00:09:57]So, it's getting warmer. uh we'll just say hot uh for tomorrow with temperatures that are going to be not record setting uh but definitely several degrees above average for the time of year. Now we do have a chance of storms on Thursday. I'm going to show you that uh we're going to take a quick two-minute break here at 3:43. Then I'm going to show you that. But you can see there there's a lot of heat across the central and the southern US. There is a front well back up to the north, but that front is kind of just staying up there for right now. Uh, and it's not going to really come anywhere near here um over the next couple of days, but definitely a lot of warmth across the southeast. And if you missed the camera at the beginning, it's a beautiful day out there. Beautiful, beautiful day.

[00:10:39]Now, you can see see the difference of this um based on where you are uh because the seab breeze has worked its way inland. So, the camera the top left from Daytona is clear. Whereas from Orlando and Lake Fairview, we've got some puffy cumulus clouds. and those puffy cumulus clouds don't have quite enough moisture uh to produce a shower for today. So, we're going to take a quick two-minute break. We'll we'll come right back. [00:13:40]So, if you're watching us on Fox Local after the the King speech, hello. Uh, welcome into our Fox 5 weather plus stream that has been ongoing. Um, welcome in first. Uh, it's a beautiful day out there to give you your quick update. Lots of sunshine. Temperatures are very warm, but they're not super hot today. They're going to take a big jump up as we go into tomorrow. All right, so let's get into the futurecast because we do have some changes to talk about in the coming days. So, let's dive into that. So, let me get this queued up here perfect for you. So, we're going to put this on our Fox model and we're going to start it today and we're going to go forward about 4 days. All right, so here we go.

[00:14:23]All right, so for the rest of today, a little bit of a northeast whim. Uh things are partly cloudy and it's dry.

[00:14:27]Here we go through tonight. Now tomorrow, notice this gray. It doesn't look like a lot. See this? It doesn't look like a lot, but this is fog.

[00:14:37]There probably will be some decent fog.

[00:14:41]My G was horrible. Uh probably will be some decent fog uh out the door Wednesday morning. Uh so we'll watch that. Not like extreme, but there will be some fog to track. Now, Wednesday, uh, instead of the winds, see today the winds are from the east. Notice these streamlines. See the winds are coming from this way. Tomorrow the winds flip and they come from the southwest. Winds tomorrow are this way. That's why it gets hotter tomorrow as we'll bring in more hotter air from down south. And instead of being in the mid 80s like today, tomorrow is going to be in the low 90s. Uh, now tomorrow should be dry.

[00:15:17]There's a teeny chance of a rogue shower. I don't think it's much. Now, Thursday is interesting.

[00:15:26]These areas up here, there might be a severe or tornado storm on Thursday afternoon uh in these areas.

[00:15:44]Uh, and it's all affiliated with the storms that are coming out of Arkansas uh, from today. And notice as we go through Thursday afternoon, there you go. Uh, a couple of storms here uh, and these form and track southeast. Uh, so they pop up and they go in heading. They move from northwest to southeast. Let me make this arrow a lot bigger. Uh, they track this way.

[00:16:14]Uh so places like Deltona, Dan, Daytona, Flaggler County, Gainesville, Ocala, the villages, Lake Mary, um those areas could have a strong or severe storm Thursday afternoon. Our f our Fox model, this is actually one of our second Fox models.

[00:16:33]Our Fox model is pretty bullish with bringing this really far south. Like this is like a pretty severe storm if it was correct. I think it's a little bit too far south. The model has the colder of these storms Thursday like this. I think it's probably going to be a little bit more up like that.

[00:16:54]Um, but nevertheless, there's going to be a handful of storms that go northwest to southeast Thursday afternoon evening, and one or two of them could be on the stronger side. Let me show you the uh spin. And this is the tornatic spin in the atmosphere Thursday.

[00:17:14]Yeah. See, notice this is uh tornatic spin from the model. And notice you get a little hint here and then a little hint, strong hint there. Uh a little bit here.

[00:17:30]Um this was the current run. Here was this morning's run. Still some. Here was last night's. Yeah. So there it would not be a shock would not be a shock to me if in if in these areas and again I haven't um drawn this up in a pretty cute map yet.

[00:17:50]I haven't had time yet. I will for the news tonight. So pardon me for drawing this all by freehand. uh in these areas Thursday, uh there might be a couple of storms that one or two might be severe.

[00:18:07]We'll keep an eye on that. Uh Thursday afternoon, though, there's our Baron computer model. Here's the Fox the Fox model. Uh and notice it's a little bit further north with those storms. In fact, I kind of lean this way. Uh, it has a lot of these storms from Gainesville to Putnham County to Daytona.

[00:18:31]Kind of along and north of that line or north of that line, we get storms. South of that, not much. So, we'll see the position, but the point is somewhere areas north of Orlando, there's going to be storms that move this way uh Thursday afternoon into Thursday evening. So, we're going to keep a close eye on that.

[00:18:49]Now, going into Friday, zoom this out.

[00:18:52]So you can see here most of Friday should be dry. Now this is this the the big old thing for the weekend is this.

[00:19:08]Yeah. Our model is not doing a good job of matching the surface map, but um turn that off. Yeah. So look out here.

[00:19:19]Yeah. This is what's going to come through Saturday afternoon, night into Sunday morning, midday. Um, is this pretty strong low here with a warm front and a cold front and that is going to come through Florida sometime late Saturday into Sunday.

[00:19:39]Now, this low is going to track probably something like that. So, generally the best chance of severe weather is going to be right along and just south of it.

[00:19:48]So, something probably like that. Uh, Thursday, Friday into Saturday.

[00:19:55]We'll see. Now, this is a pretty gnarly line of storms here. Pretty gnarly line of storms right here. This is Friday evening, but we're still dry. This model doesn't go out that far.

[00:20:09]But notice this is Saturday.

[00:20:12]Again, we've got hotter weather. winds are from the south, but sometime in the evening, this front that's out in the Gulf is going to come through with showers and storms that might hold into Sunday. I don't think Sunday is a wash out. It's not going to rain every hour of Sunday. Uh not by a long shot, but Sunday is definitely cooler and there's going to be a big drop in temperature coming in uh for what is already the second day of May. Uh if you can believe that.

[00:20:46]And Mother's Day is the following Sunday. Sorry, I had to make sure I said it. Sunday, May 10th, not this coming Sunday for Mother's Day. Uh, but you can see there that front uh to the west with probably will come through with some rain and storms. I don't think it's a lot of severe weather right now. It's yesterday I would have said more so.

[00:21:08]Today, not as much. So, we'll see what tomorrow brings. It's a little bit early. Little bit early in that regard, but let me show you the uh this is the the rain.

[00:21:18]So there you see those storms Thursday to the north. This is the Euro model.

[00:21:22]Friday, maybe some storms to the north again.

[00:21:26]And then notice this is 5:00 a.m.

[00:21:28]Sunday. The the rain doesn't come through until 5:00 a.m. Sunday. This is 5 a.m. Sunday.

[00:21:35]rain 8 am Sunday 2 pm and then notice by Sunday late afternoon evening most of that's already south of us so at least according to the euro it's a Saturday night into Sunday morning and midday rain and storm chance and then late Sunday is clearing so it's definitely not a quote unquote wash out um and then by Monday look at these temperatures might even be some close to 40s up in the northern part of Florida.

[00:22:06]Yeah, these are the low temperatures Monday morning. Yeah, 54 in Ocala, close to the upper 40s in Gainesville, low 60s in Orlando with low humidity. You probably will need a jacket out the door Monday morning as it would look right now. So, that's the deal with the weather for today. Uh, Thursday, we're so to summarize, today's good, dry.

[00:22:29]Tomorrow, hotter, but likely still dry.

[00:22:33]Thursday, couple of stronger severe storms north of Orlando uh from like Ocala, Gainesville, Valuchia County, Semino, Flaggler County. We'll keep an eye on that. Um if they do actually form, one or two probably will be severe. So I'll be here tracking that for you with Laurel. And then um Friday, Saturday during the day is likely fine. And then sometime Saturday late into Sunday morning, midday, we'll have that front come by with some rain and storms.

[00:23:03]Depending on the timing, there could be some severe weather, but not too big on that right now, but we'll figure that out over the next few days.
