International negotiations often involve simultaneous diplomatic efforts and military threats, as demonstrated by President Trump's warnings of potential US military action against Iran while pursuing negotiations over Iran's nuclear program, with both sides maintaining positions that could lead to either diplomatic resolution or escalated conflict.

Trump Says U.S-Iran Talks 'On The Borderline' Amid Strike Threats | Firstpost LiveHinzugefügt:
Diplomacy is on the table, but the threat of military action still is looming large.
President Donald Trump has once again warned Iran of possible US action as Washington and Tehran continue high-stakes talks amid rising regional tensions.
Speaking during a commencement address at the US Coast Guard Academy, Trump reiterated that Washington would not allow Iran to obtain a nuclear weapon and said the US was prepared to take further action if negotiations fail.
People don't want them to have a nuclear weapon and they will not have a nuclear weapon and they want to make a deal so badly. We'll see what happens, but we will We hit them very hard, but we may have to hit them even harder, but maybe not. But we're not going to let Iran have a nuclear weapon and blow up the entire Middle East, Israel, the entire Middle East, and then come here for you.
Not going to happen.
>> [applause] >> The US president has also repeatedly claimed Iran's military capabilities may have been severely weakened, saying much of Tehran's naval, air, and defense infrastructure had already been destroyed. As diplomatic efforts continue alongside growing military pressure, President Donald Trump said the United States was waiting for a clear response from Tehran before deciding its next move.
How much time does Iran have to respond after you said yesterday you were an hour away from making a decision? Where does that stand today? Have you heard anything from them? It's very uh right on the borderline, believe me.
If we don't get the right answers, it goes very quickly. We're already to go.
Uh we have to get the right answers. It would have to be a complete 100% good answers, and if we do, we save a lot of time, energy, and lives, most importantly.
The latest remarks come days after Trump said he had delayed planned strikes on Iran following requests from Gulf countries to allow more time for diplomatic efforts. Trump also said the US was in the final stages of negotiations with the Iran. He also accused Iran of destabilizing the West Asia for decades while defending his decision to withdraw from Obama era Iran nuclear deal.
They said that they feel they've had for the first time in almost 47 years, you know, Iran's been the bully of the Middle East for 47 years. I mean literally the bully of the Middle East and they're nasty, very nasty, very dangerous. They wanted a nuclear weapon.
Had I not terminated Barack Hussein Obama's Iran nuclear deal, had I not terminated it, see that's the win. That can't happen with the real structure.
When asked about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's position on possible strikes against Iran, Trump suggested the two leaders remain closely aligned on the issue.
Minister Netanyahu about Iran and how long to to hold off on strike?
>> he'll do whatever I want him to do.
He's very very good man.
Uh he'll do whatever I want him to do and he's a He's a great guy. To me he's a great guy.
Don't forget he was a wartime prime minister.
And he's not treated right in Israel in my opinion.
On Wednesday, Iran's chief negotiator Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf accused Washington of trying to restart the war after President Donald Trump threatened fresh strikes unless Tehran agreed to a deal. Qalibaf warned of a forceful response to any future attacks and claimed the United States had not abandoned its military objectives against Iran.
Meanwhile, Iran's Revolutionary Guards warned that any renewed conflict could spread far beyond West Asia. Iran has also continued signaling military readiness despite the fragile ceasefire that has been in place since April.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi claims Tehran used the pause in fighting to strengthen its defense capabilities.
Araghchi warns that any return to conflict would bring many more surprises. Tehran has also maintained pressure around key regional waterways including the Strait of Hormuz.
Another day, another warning and still no clear breakthrough. With diplomatic efforts continuing in parallel with military threats, the world is left watching a standoff where the possibility of peace and the risk of escalation is exist side by side.
