Chandigarh: Heatwave Intensifies As Scorching Temperatures Empty Roads, Markets Turn DesertedAdded:
We are at Chandigarh's iconic Sector 17 and you can see the plaza which normally sees a lot of rush out here, a lot of gathering over here from people.
Whosoever visits Chandigarh do come over here, but now it's around 11:00 a.m. in Chandigarh. It's already 39 degrees and it's blistering hot and you can see the entire plaza is deserted. Shops are open, the showrooms are open, but there are no takers at this time because the people are avoiding. You can see this situation that hardly any people out here and the entire conditions are because the conditions are very, very hot here. Be it roads, be it the Sukhna Lake, be it the Sector 17. We went to Sukhna Lake 2 days back and there were no takers for the boating as well. And now the Sector 17 which gathers a lot of crowd is totally deserted because of the intense heat. From Chandigarh with camera person Chandi, this is Asim Bassi, India Today.
