Tesla Smart Summon Works on REAL Roads… But There’s a Catch

[00:00:18]Hey everyone, welcome back to another Tesla full self-driving videos and we are testing the latest and greatest FSD 14.3.1.

[00:00:28]As you can see, FSD is passing a person who is working on his vehicle. Very good job. So far so good. In this video, we're going to test multiple things.

[00:00:37]Unpred left turn, narrow road, tiny road test, U-turn on tiny road. So stick together because this video will be so much more interesting. And if you're not familiar with me, my name is Ananto Muhammad and I love to film Tesla full self-driving videos in New York. So, we are here on our first location. The car should park here in the curb side and we'll see how self-driving gets out from this area. In previous softer version, the car used to hit that curb. So, we're going to see if um in this version if the car do that or not because I saw in the very first day the car didn't but in the second day it did. So, kind of little different here and there. So, we're going to figure that out if FSD really and actually hit that curb. So, let's do that. I can definitely see it is uh taking decision um differently today. It is not going all the way back which is absolutely great. It is very very good. Like I can tell you that the way it is doing and reversing back seems like it's solved but sometimes it definitely right now like it it tries to do that and there is that uh steering wheel uh turning hesitation a little bit like the decision making right like it wants to make that left turn and then again thinking about should I go a little bit backward and reverse a little bit more something like that. So very very interesting. And we are taking a different route. Wow. Normally we don't take that route. We always go straight, make a right turn. So we're taking a longer route. Um that's fine. I'm fine with everything. This is a new test because I never, you know, drove on that road before like right over here that we're making a right turn. [00:02:39]People are walking. FSD gives them proper space. Great job there. No stop sign. Very nice and smooth. Very, very good job. So, we have a kind of a hidden stop sign here. Actually, no stop sign in either way. But the good thing is you need to stop here. If there are vehicle then it will be a you know a bad situation. So if I did the right thing slow down because there is no stop sign it just proceeded immediately and very good job. So we have multiple vehicle on our left side. We'll see how it handles that. I I'm not sure if that vehicle is going to make a U-turn or not. Very good. that al that vehicle also making a left turn from their end.

[00:03:29]So, uh we're going to go straight. We're going towards another tiny road. We'll see how self-driving handles that. We're going to pass these uh traffic light immediately. Going to change the lane.

[00:03:39]Move over to the left side and we're going to make a left turn right over here. But we definitely have to see if there is any other vehicle from the other side. I can definitely see there is another vehicle, another Tesla.

[00:03:54]So, great job. There is another one after this one. Definitely proceed. Nice job. And then we're going to make another unprotected left turn. We'll see how self-driving handles it. So, if you didn't watch that video, I highly recommend you watch that video in my channel because I felt like someone has been changed a lot after FSD 14.3 drops, especially 14.3.1 because I saw faster reaction time. when you press on that button on your app, it reacts way faster immediately. Kind of like immediately proceed and started proceeding and come towards you when you use summon. So, I feel like the banish mode that we're talking about recently that when you're going somewhere, you're just going to get out in the front door and the car is going to find a parking for you. So, you don't have to park your vehicle and walk, right? So uh probably this feature will come very soon because after I see that uh version with summon uh got increased which is amazing also Omar on X verified that the stack softer stack is probably 14 that's why someone is behaving differently we don't have anyone on our left side so many vehicle from right side we can just easily go in the middle section but in FSD 14 I never saw that behavior that FSD wants to go in the either like at the very last moment if it see something then probably it will stuck on the middle but not like it wants to go in the middle like the chuck cook turn. So we're going to go after this vehicle from left side and there is no vehicle from right. So in one shot.

[00:06:55]Okay. So, on the next stop sign, we're going to make a left turn and then we're going to cross a big road, right? So, we're going to stop in a stop sign.

[00:07:04]There will be vehicle from left side, right side, and we just have to wait and see when it's clear. We're just going to cross that big road. We're not making left turn, right turn. We're just going to cross. So, we have to probably cross four lane, four or five lanes. So, let's find out how self-driving handles that.

[00:07:23]So, we're making this left turn. No vehicle.

[00:07:28]one of my early previous videos where FSD got stuck in this big road crossing because it didn't see vehicle from our right side and suddenly it just stuck on the middle and there have to like other vehicle have to break for me because we're kind of stuck in the middle of that road. No vehicle from our left side. There is a parked vehicle few vehicle from right side. We're not going good job there because because we're going to go straight. We don't have a space.

[00:07:59]I don't know how FSD is going to handle that. Two vehicle is making left turn.

[00:08:04]Now we have vehicle from left side because of the park B vehicle. We're probably not seeing all the way.

[00:08:13]Wow, that was good. That was good. I felt a little nervous because of that blue vehicle on our left side. I couldn't even see that that if there is any vehicle and the car handled that perfectly. Very very good job. Nice job there. We're going to go. This is also not always stop sign. So, we have to definitely creep a little bit. Very, very good. So far so good. We are going to change the location and we're probably going to go somewhere else right now. And I know it marked as a school zone. Sunday school zones are not active right now because it is Saturday, but we're just going to test as a regular driving scenarios here and there.

[00:09:04]So, we're going um we're going to make a left turn on our upcoming stop sign. We definitely have to do probably another unprotected left right over there. We're going to find out how self-driving will going to handle that. So, let's do that.

[00:09:50]There will be no flashing yellow light because the school zones are kind of closed today. Saw that a stop sign reacted very nicely. And now we are going.

[00:10:12]We're probably going to test some parking as well to just find out how this new version handles parking.

[00:10:55]And there is no vehicle on the other side as well. So, we have lot of space on our left side. We could just easily avoid that. But we know the release note says pothole detection is coming in the next software update or something like that. So we'll see lot of vehicle from left side lot of vehicle from right side. Don't know how effect is going to handle on portal left here. So we just have to wait. Also there is a fence on my left side. So as a human it's kind of little hard to see on your left.

[00:11:30]Amazing job by Tesla FSD. Great job there. It recognized there is no vehicle on our left side or that vehicle is far and there is nothing coming from the right. So it just makes that left turn little slow until it reaches out to a point that it can see the right side clearly and then makes that left turn.

[00:11:51]Very very good job. We are going towards schools and we're going to see how self-driving find a parking in that parking lot and then gets out from that parking lot as well. [00:13:48]Little bit of hesitation there after seeing that vehicle getting in. So I saw that a steering wheel making a left turn and that make a wide left turn. Probably adjusted the space so that that wide vehicle can get in. Very interesting.

[00:14:02]But the way it handled it uh seems a little um confused, right? Or hesitating a little bit. So I tapped that camera icon so that Tesla AI team has the data.

[00:14:13]And now we're going to make a right turn and we're going to go towards KFC drive-thru. Just want to try the drive-thru scenarios. how the latest and greatest FSD version 14.3.1 going to handle drive-thru in KFC because I never had a success on the drive-thru. So, just want to see if this time it goes into the drive-thru, stop into that ordering place and stop in that window so that I can pay. Right. So, let's go and watch.

[00:14:44]There is a truck in front of us. There is a Tesla in front of us. So, very good flashing yellow light. No hesitation, no confusion. So far so good. Amazing.

[00:14:53]Amazing job. Right. So, this two lane is going to merge into one. We're going to see how self-driving is going to handle.

[00:15:00]Probably going to give a space to this uh truck driver. Very very good. So far, amazing amazing update. I really think that Tesla should roll out this software to everyone. But I saw after first two days they stopped kind of rolling out this uh point release and nobody's getting it anymore after probably one or two wave after the EA users. So it's very interesting to see um why they didn't because we don't know. Probably they found something that we don't know, right? So very interesting. I think they're going to roll out another point release tomorrow. That's my guess.

[00:15:37]Tomorrow today like Saturday and tomorrow is Sunday. So, I'm releasing I'm going to release this video on Sunday.

[00:15:45]So, um really really don't know uh when they're going to release that point release or this version is going to go wide or not. Uh but uh so far amazing drive for me. Right. Also, the summon feature as I told you like it works like a magic right now. Whenever you want to use it, you just tap it on the app, the car is just going to come very confident. Doesn't hesitate at all. Uh we have some traffic in front of us.

[00:16:12]Very interesting. Normally at this time of the day there shouldn't be any traffic in this road but we have here also we have a traffic light in front of us. So Upcoming traffic light will make a left turn. As you can see, the other car is doing the exactly the same thing. We're going to make a left turn right over here. So, we choose that left turn lane.

[00:17:04]Very good job there. So after let's see.

[00:17:08]So the light change FSD did the right thing by going a little bit forward so that it doesn't get stuck in that light.

[00:17:16]Great job. Like a human. Exactly like a human driving behavior there. Like when it saw that the light is changing from red to yellow, immediately it proceeded and pass that white line so that it knows there is no other vehicle coming or close to that. So it just in a flow it just makes that left turn. Very very good job there. So we're going to go straight and in 4 minutes we're going to go towards that KFC drivethru. Just want to test that areas if this new version has that new behavior where you're going to stop in that ordering place and it's just going to like wait on the window to grab my food and pay the bill and then get out from there. So we're going to figure that out after we reach there.

[00:18:04]I'm going to check the navigation so that I understand if the vehicle is actually getting in. So, it says it's going to stop in front of the KFC. So, you can see the P sign. It says parking lot. I don't know if I can choose curbside. Curbside will just park in that in front of the door instead of going into the uh drivethru. So I'm going to reach over there and then I'm going to change that to that drivethru road so that the car tries to get in there. Right. So let's do that after we reach over there. So 2 minutes away still.

Never saw that behavior before. But this is your first look at Tesla someone working in local roads, right? So very very interesting guys.

[00:35:55]Hopefully you guys got that idea how this works. But don't try it. I would say don't try it because it's not released, right? So there is no reason you're going to do that in local road.

[00:36:07]But I was in a controlled area. I was putting all my cameras on so that I can see it's like kind of empty road. It's a dead end and there's no vehicle, no people. So, you understand what I'm saying? So, very very good.

[00:36:23]Okay. So, we are going 2 minutes away from our destination. We're probably going to change it one more time and go somewhere else, right? So, let's do that.

[00:36:57]So, we'll make a right turn here. Uh, the light is green. FSD choose the right lane to make that right turn. Very good job.

[00:37:05]Nice job. This lane is going to merge right now. So FSD will probably marge into the left. Very, very early decision making there. Very good job. So we're just 8 minutes away from our destination. We'll see how self-driving handles the rest of it. And I'm going to end that video. But hopefully you got a lot of things from this video. But after we ch like cross that I will change our destination for the very last moment because I really wanted to make another unprotected left turn which is little difficult. So let's do that. Right. So we're going to change the navigation. I'm going to add that. So let's see if FSG recognized that or not. Very good job. Immediately proceeded. Very very good job. Like even though the navigation didn't update still for somehow FSD knows that we have to go and change but probably going to go from a different road. So I I'll probably take over right now because the navigation is not updating. That's why because I want to make this unprotected left turn. So let's see how FD is going to handle this unprotected left turn.

[00:41:49]I know I told you that I'm not going to make this video super long, but I kind of just had to. But we'll see. I'm going to engage FSD right now. You'll see the navigation will update. And this unprotected left turn is a little different because you cannot see on your right side all the way because of the condition of the road. So, we'll see how self-driving handles this unpredicted left turn. But let's come up come up with a summarization that how FSD performs in this video. FSD is amazing.

[00:42:21]I didn't have to take one single time take over or do something weird. The car handle parking regular unprot left turn narrow road tiny road. It doesn't touch that curb. So, so far amazing. Also, I showed you a little bit of how someone works in that uh you know like tiny areas and tiny road, regular road. So hopefully you got that idea. We're making an unprotected left in one shot.
