Weather forecasting involves analyzing atmospheric conditions, including the jet stream's position and strength, to predict precipitation, temperature, and severe weather patterns; meteorologists use Doppler radar and atmospheric moisture data to determine the likelihood of rain and storm development, with forecast confidence varying based on the timing and intensity of approaching weather systems.

All right, folks. Well, here's our Mega3 Storm Team live stream broadcast. Want to get you day in what's happening weatherwise. Hope you're having a nice start to your Saturday evening. The weather certainly cooperating here over the past couple of weeks. We've had some rough conditions down here. A lot of severe weather and of course yesterday we had a good amount of rain. We surely needed it. But now we're getting a bit of a break for outdoor activities. I think the rest of the weekend is looking fabulous. Here's our Wells Night Omega3 dualpull Doppler radar. Not showing any precipitation out there this evening.
And it looks like we'll be rainfree probably until the middle part of the upcoming work and school week. So 0% chance of measurable rain as we go through tonight and 0% possibility as we finish out the weekend for your Sunday.
So really uh nice little bit chilly at night but comfortable afternoons. Our weather water weather reports from today we'll start with Mr. Chuck Cam in Redwater. High temperature 74 degrees.
Average high this time of year is the lower 80s. So a bit cooler than average, but don't think we had too many complaints. It was really dry out there.
Uh quite comfortable in fact. Uh Reed Eisenhower, Texas, Canada 75. Wayne Hatfield and Homer 77. Uh Carla Lucas and Vivian at 75. We had Brian Loper in Atlanta, Texas also in the mid70s. A couple degrees off that mark there for Paul Piccola over in Hugh Springs, Texas. A little bit farther down, we had June Jones, Alleian Fields at 73.
Francis Moody and Cypress Lake, one of the warmer spots at 79. Kerry and Stonewall 72. And Barry Howard and Clarence, Louisiana there at 78°. And around the metro area, uh John Gillery of Boer City, it's a new report that was earlier today at 69. Uh the high ended up being about 77 according to Mark Potter, Boer City there. Mike Law and Shreport 77, Gary Stratton and Blanchard 78. And it looks like over the uh past or from midnight on it had a little bit of precipitation uh lingering there.
Molly Ranken and Benton at 77, Randall Elliot just east of there at 77 and John Grub in the Benton area at 79. Just want to shout out to all the weather watchers. Thank you for all your information. Gorgeous weather out there.
Currently 66, cooling down rapidly. The humidity is quite dry. Uh calm winds, clear skies. Can't beat it. Just a fabulous start to the rest of our uh springtime evening there. Already in the 60s in Idabel and the Queen. Uh 63 in Magnolia and 64 in Mend. Smaller communities cooling quicker. Not as much concrete to hold that heat in. 62 in Nagades and Rustin. Low 60s over in Center and Carthage and one of the warmer spots up there on on the hill.
71° in Mount Pleasant, but a fabulous start to our evening there. Uh the big picture, what's going on? Well, we got clear skies across this part of the country. A little inclement weather up there in Minneapolis, the eastern seabboard down into Florida. Uh the storms hanging out there and the west coast. Well, not too bad. A little bit inclement weather there on the far western seashore. Temperature wise, feeling like summertime in Phoenix, Arizona there at 92 to lower 70s up in uh Salt Lake City. Also up in the northern plains in the lower 700s, 50s, upper 40s, uh you name it, up in the Great Lakes there. It looks like Detroit at 45, mid50s over in Washington DC and farther south 84 degrees in Miami. So fairly nice weather there. Uh in the big picture looking at the jetream, the upper level river wind that controls our weather uh for the most part uh daytoday at the surface. Uh we've got our little weak disturbance coming by that may bring a couple clouds here and there, but I think our atmosphere has dried out enough to where we won't see much out of that. Uh yesterday storm system is off to our east and that's what's giving the east coast their uh shower and thunderstorm activity. Today, uh we have a ridge building in where the jet train's bowing up to the north across the inner mountain region there. And that's just synonymous with nice weather. That'll just kind of blend in with our atmosphere for tomorrow and Monday, warm us up a little bit, but give us some nice weather or a continuation of where we're at. And then we have a storm system out uh west of California that could uh come visit us on Wednesday or at least part of it could. So, that's what it's looking right now. Uh here's our precision cast as we go through tonight. It claims to show a few clouds here and there. Uh I think uh the clouds will be hard will be hardressed to find any moisture to make any clouds tonight. Uh temperatures in the 50s and 60s though by then. I think that's pretty safe forecast as we head toward dawn on your Sunday. Probably the upper 40s to the mid50s across our area.
Uh light winds, clear skies. Uh with it being so dry today, I think our atmosphere was scoured out of uh any kind of residual moisture on a grand scale. Can't rule out, you know, with the wet soil, a little bit of patchy ground fog out in the countryside or a bit of a dew out there. But otherwise, I think um pretty dry night across our architect area. Uh we may see a little bit of cloudiness come by tomorrow with that weak little disturbance uh back upstream, but not expecting more than anything else. So once you're getting out of church, probably in the mid70s headed for your Sunday lunch and then probably close to 80° there 5:00 in the afternoon. Clear skies should be pretty nice. And then some high clouds will start kind of streaming our way as we head toward tomorrow evening. But still some great weather there for our Sunday.
For tonight about 51 in Shreport. Looks like a calm wind night for us. Uh the 40s up in Hope and um El Dredo, Rustin, Ringold there probably near 50 in Carthage upper 40s. Manny uh Mansfield there near 50. Idabbel Oklahoma about 48. So upper 40s to lower 50s. Then tomorrow sunshine, warmer day, light west to southwesterly wind. That's a warming wind for us, although not very strong. So uh looks like a very nice day. And that's about average temperature- wise for this time of year.
upper 70s to near 80 degrees pretty much across the board there, including 80 in Nacadish and Atlanta and about 77 there up in Hope, Arkansas. All right, looking at the big picture, our weekend ridge continues to give us nice weather and then our next storm system that approaches for Wednesday and that storm could bring a cold front down close to the Ariteex and that could give us some pretty good storms, uh, showers and thunderstorms. still early in the forecasting. So, the timing and intensity of this uh weather scenario or this weather forecast is still up in the air you this many days out, but uh bears watching uh especially this time of year when it is our severe weather season. Uh forecast rain amounts uh nothing terribly heavy right now. Um up near the frontal boundary, it shows during the day Wednesday perhaps close to an inch up into Queen, but it's still early in the forecasting. And again, this could probably change. And you have to with our part of the country, take uh rain forecast with a grain of salt, unless it's just a broad area of rain like we saw with the last storm last uh yesterday, a little bit easier to do a broad brush forecast of rain amounts.
But when you have what we call convictive type storms or thunderstorms, uh they're always varying in intensity and aerial coverage. Some folks don't get any rain, some get too much at one time. So, uh, you're probably, you know, the routine if you've lived in these parts for a while. All right, moving on to the 7-day forecast. So, 40s to the near or near 50°, low 50s for tomorrow morning about 80 in the afternoon. Winds light west southwesterly. So, pretty nice day out there, I'd say. Uh, for your Monday, upper 50s to lower 80s, winds out of the southwest at 10. So, that southwest wind increasing and that's a warming wind for us. Mid 80s there on Tuesday. So, the moisture is coming in. One's out of south at 15.
We'll start the day in the mid60s. Uh late Tuesday could be some thunderstorms up in Oklahoma, North Texas perhaps up into Arkansas and then the cold front could push those storms into our area on Wednesday. So, uh with the data we have right now, that's a probability of measurable rain. High of near 80° after a low of 70. Then we get into our Thursday if that frontal system moves on by, cools us down a few degrees, kind of like what we're experiencing here today.
And then it looks like Friday, decent weather and then we start a pretty big warmup as we head toward next Saturday with temperature readings jumping up there in the mid 80s. So that's your 7-day forecast. Right now we get about three days off from the inclement weather and I think folks are kind of ready for that. We still probably have a little bit of drought. Uh some areas didn't see a whole lot of rain, but uh we we did pretty good there on Friday in some locations and perhaps we could see more, but it won't be until about Wednesday time frame. All right, it's about um oh 10 minutes after the hour.
We'll be back at 9:00 on KPXJCW21 uh news, weather, and sports, of course, and then uh and I believe 10 o'clock on KTBS Channel 3. So that's what we're looking at at the evening broadcasting.
So appreciate you watching and hope you enjoy the rest of your Saturday evening and the rest of your weekend.
