The 1949-1950 Mauna Loa eruption on Hawaii's Big Island was one of the largest volcanic eruptions in recorded history, producing 77 million cubic yards of lava over 147 days—enough to build a 10-foot high, 5-foot wide wall around the entire island of Oahu eight times.

Epic 1950 Mauna Loa Eruption in Hawaii #Shorts本站添加:
In 1949 and 1950, the Monaoa volcano on the Big Island erupted and lava flowed out of it for 147 days. During that time, it spit out a total of 77 million cubic yards of lava. That is a lot of lava. To illustrate that, imagine building a wall that is 10 ft high and 5t wide made out of all of that lava.
You can build that wall around the entire island of Oahu eight times.
That's pretty impressive, right? And if you want to know some more interesting stuff about this eruption, check out the full video on my YouTube channel. I'll see you there.
