Personal relationships with powerful individuals can significantly impact political and media landscapes, as demonstrated by Wendi Deng's case where her connections to Tony Blair, Vladimir Putin, and the Trump family led to serious allegations including national security concerns, despite her lack of traditional power sources like family wealth or political connections.

Wendi Deng Life & Legacy Part 3Added:
So, Rupert filed for divorce in 2013, and the moment that marriage ended, a very specific story started being told about Wendi Deng.
First came the Tony Blair allegations.
Wendi was 45 when this occurred, by the way.
Rupert reportedly became convinced that something had happened between Wendi and Blair, who was the godfather of their daughter Grace. He ended a decades-long friendship over it. Reportedly interrogated staff at his own properties. Blair denied Wendy denied it. A staff reportedly found a diary entry where Wendy was describing an admiring Tony Blair's anatomy.
>> [snorts] >> So, then Rupert believed it enough to cut off one of the most powerful politicians in the world. And also divorce his wife. Then came the Putin rumors. Reports emerged that Wendi and Vladimir Putin, one of the most guarded and paranoid men on the planet, had struck up some kind of romance. She told Vogue she had never even met him. The story ran everywhere anyway. And then in 2018 came the most serious allegation of all. US counterintelligence officials reportedly warned Jared Kushner that Wendi, who was close friends with Ivanka Trump, may be working on behalf of the Chinese government.
The specific concern, she had allegedly been pushing a hundred million-dollar Chinese-funded project to build a garden at the National Arboretum in Washington.
An official suspected a tower in the design could be used to conduct surveillance on the White House and Congress.
She was never charged, never formally investigated, but the story was everywhere.
And that story was published in The Wall Street Journal, which is also owned by Rupert Murdoch. J Cherry was 50 and married. He left his wife. Rupert Murdoch was 67 and had been married for 31 years. He restructured his entire empire and then divorced her anyway.
Tony Blair allegedly risked his entire reputation, and Putin allegedly couldn't stay away.
And the US government considered her a national security threat. A Chinese woman from a factory town remakes herself completely, not once but multiple times. No connections, no family money, no famous last name, just whatever it factor she has. She uses every tool available to her. Beauty, intelligence, boldness, access. So, I'll ask you the same question I asked at the beginning of the series. Is it beauty?
Is it her personality? Or is it something else entirely? Because behind every successful man is a woman, and women tend to be the kryptonite of every man, no matter how powerful they are.
Thank you so much for watching.
