Flood waters can rise rapidly and become dangerous quickly, making it essential to avoid driving through flooded areas. The video shows flood waters returning to Prado Lane in Cobb County after initially receding, with water rising to halfway through car tires within minutes. Multiple vehicles became stuck in flood waters on Prado Lane, I-20, and I-75, demonstrating the unpredictable and dangerous nature of flash flooding. The recommended safety measure is to find alternative routes around flooded areas rather than attempting to drive through them, as doing so risks vehicle damage, personal injury, or becoming stranded.

First Alert Weather: Flood warning issued for Cobb, Cherokee countiesAdded:
We have been tracking this rain all evening long on this first alert weather day. Let's get straight on over to Atlanta News First Alani Latang who's live from the first alert tracker and Cobb County. Now Alani a flood warning was just issued there.
And I I'm going to show you exactly why but we're here on Prado Lane. We're still off of Barrett Ernest Parkway where Prado Lane had we had showed you at 9:00. It was the flood waters were gone but now they're back. Let me cut to it right now. Right now we have a car that's stuck right in front of us here.
It was it's been stuck for about 10 minutes now but you can sort of see how far up that water is rising halfway through their tires right now. We just saw someone go through this and that is not recommended that you drive through this but just taking a look around the uh excuse me let me go the other way.
Just taking a look around this street here. All of that flood water happening um here on Prado Lane. So you really just don't want to drive through any of that as well but let me get to you on the other side here. But yeah this is all Prado Lane off Ernest Parkway. But we want to cut to you some um some video that we shot earlier today just showing all of that we've seen throughout Cobb County here. But in Marietta uh last night's storm also causing some flooding on Collins Drive. People saying that the flooding is expected but a lot of what people are saying is this is just new.
They haven't seen this. We saw also intense flooding on I-20 I-75 as well and people living here describing scenes that they've never seen before and also what it's like to watch these cars get stuck and stalled out in flood waters.
There was a car that was stuck in the middle and they were trying to get out.
They it was two females. They couldn't get out of the vehicle and then um finally I don't know. They just like pushed the door open. They were able to get out but then once they got out their car was you know ultimately stuck. They couldn't go forward backwards and it was just like a very like random quick flood.
>> Did you see the car drive into the water? I I did, but here's the thing, because it was so flooded, you couldn't really and there was so much rain falling, you couldn't see if it was just like water or if it was like the road.
It was so glossy that you couldn't even see it.
All right, now back here live, we're seeing another car drive through Prado Lane and one behind it. Those are the lights that you're seeing, but this is not a good scene here for people that are trying to get home or trying to even get to where they need to go here, but it's just advised that you don't drive through flood waters. Again, for reference, we're on Prado Lane. We're next to the Ross Dress for Less. We're next to a a Mexican restaurant as well off of Earnest Parkway. So, really just try to find a way to avoid going around here. Now, the people have now walked outside of that flooded the car that is now submerged with water. Right now, just showing you guys another look at that.
Again, highly highly unsafe, not recommended that you do that, but just take a look at how deep that car is now in the water as it's starting to rise here. So, again, advise not to drive through this.
Now, we have another car down here that's stuck. So, again, just not not don't do this. It's going to cost you a lot in terms of tow truck and you're going to have to call the police to come help you get out of this car, but again, just if you're driving, just be mindful. Watch out for these flood waters, as well, because it could could it could ruin the evening for you there tonight, but we're going to stand around and just drive around here and ourselves not get stuck. But again, if you see flood waters, please don't drive through it. Reporting live inside the weather tracker, I'm Milani the saying Atlanta news first.
