[00:00:14]A mother's grief is tangible, the pain unthinkable. For 5 days, Markavious Rumps family searched for the missing 18-year-old after they say he was last seen Thursday, May 7th, getting into a car with an acquaintance. Then came disturbing information from the community. Fearing he had been badly hurt, the family launched their own search over Mother's Day weekend.

[00:00:42]Then Monday, in a muddy wooded area off of White Oak Church Road, their search ended in horror.

[00:00:49]They basically burnt my baby, shot my baby, burnt him up, and chopped him up.

[00:01:01]How does a father deal with that? I'm dealing with it best I can right now.

[00:01:04]Tuesday, investigators were back in the woods searching for evidence as the hunt for a killer or killers continues. The family does believe someone known to Markavious is responsible, but police so far have not named a suspect. Markavious had just earned his GED and planned to become a welder. A young life cut tragically short.

[00:01:22]>> a body to be found. Literally, when you looked at it, they had dismembered this young man, set his body on fire. A 12-person search party was organized last night by family members of the missing teen, but police aren't yet able to confirm if it was Mark Rumps Jr. The remains that we found we cannot positively ID, so they have not been positively ID'd yet due to the fact that the body was dismembered and burnt. The party was out by White Oak Church Road in Uvalde for 2 hours using ATVs, drones, and a hound dog to search the area.

[00:01:49]If you think about the worst horror movie you ever seen, Texas Chainsaw Massacre. That's what this road is. Uvalde police responded to the scene shortly after the discovery before closing it off and beginning the investigation. The brother saw the body.

[00:02:06]And like I said, as a father, I can't say I wouldn't I wouldn't have done the same thing with family members, but on our side, you know, we still have to do things legally and correctly. We have to follow our process and procedures. Um and that's what we're doing.

[00:02:16]Eufaula police are leading the investigation with help from the Barbour County Sheriff's Office and the State Bureau of Investigation. We do have suspects. Um and my message to them is if you did this or had anything to do with it, this sick horrific crime, we're coming for you. We're going to find you.

[00:02:34]Barbara, members of the search party said they saw evidence of blood and burn piles outside a nearby home, and Eufaula police say they're using every means necessary, including cadaver dogs and fire marshals, to move this investigation forward.
