Milk as a Symbol of Knowledge

[00:00:00]Narrated by Abdullah ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both. He said, "I heard the messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say, 'While I was sleeping, I was given a cup of milk, and I drank from it until I could see the satisfaction flowing through my fingernails.

[00:00:19]Then I gave my remaining share to Umar ibn al-Khattab.'

[00:00:23]They asked, 'How did you interpret it, O messenger of Allah?'

[00:00:28]He said, 'Knowledge.'

[00:00:30]Reported by al-Bukhari.

[00:00:32]This Hadith shows the great status and virtue of knowledge in Islam.

[00:00:38]The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, compared knowledge to milk because milk is pure, wholesome, and nourishing, just as knowledge nourishes the heart and mind.

[00:00:50]The fact that the Prophet drank until he was fully satisfied indicates the perfection and completeness of the knowledge and revelation granted to him by Allah.
