TRUMP FINALLY CONFRONTED ABOUT THISAdded:
I want to circle back to the press conference at the White House from earlier today involving Donald Trump. In a previous video, we discussed the funny stuff like when Trump was asked whether or not he would attend his own son's wedding this weekend and he's like, "Don Jr. who? Maybe if I have the time." But in that video, I mentioned that there was actually more substantive serious stuff that we needed to talk about.
That's what this is, including the fact that Trump was confronted to his face about him increasingly losing control of the Republican dominated Senate. But before we unpack all that, if you end up liking this video and you want to support the channel, please be sure to hit the like, subscribe, and alert bells before you go. So, in these clips, Trump has a lot to say about the Senate, the midterms, the Democratic Party, the Supreme Court, a lot of things. Let's start with this.
>> Mr. President, with many Americans concerned about affordability ahead of the midterms, there is some backlash among Senate Republicans to some of the other priorities, uh, the ballroom and that anti-weaponization fund. You clearly still have a stronghold in the Republican party. Your candidates did very well this week during the primaries, but are you losing control did well, not all candidates did well, >> but are you losing control of the Senate, sir? Are you losing control of the Senate? Senate Republicans?
>> I don't know. I really don't know. I can tell you I only do what's right. Uh I don't need money for the ballroom.
You're not making a gift of >> That's the other thing, too. He talks about the ballroom and whether or not he needs congressional approval for anything. He's just he was really in full autocrap mode. Um but yeah, so even Trump, you know, who's very egotistical, very thin skinned, very narcissistic, he seems to almost be that visibly defeated, right? I mean, this is just days after he triumphed over Thomas Massie, his number one enemy and number one critic in the Republican party, right? He beat Bill Cassidy in the primary. He beat Thomas Massie finally in a primary. Both of those two men will be no longer in Congress after January.
He endorsed John Cornin's opponent, Ken Paxton, so potentially that's a third Republican that Trump has effectively purged from the Senate or the Congress in in the case of Massie. And in many cases, he was high on his own supply.
Trump was like, see who's who's the real big dick of the Republican party? Who's the kingmaker of the Republican party?
And now he's being reminded that well, you're actually in some ways tangibly losing control of one of two chambers of Congress. And it's not to the Democrats, it's to your own party. He has no good answer for that other than say, I just do what's right. But they're not breaking the filibuster, which is what you insist they do. They they don't have the votes for it and they know it would backfire on them if Democrats get back into power. The the filibuster works better as a shield for Republicans than it does the Democrats, right? The Republicans benefit more from the filibuster being in place, but they're not breaking the filibuster. They're not firing yet the parliamentarian that's stying Trump's uh you know, ballroom funding.
They just voted against his Iran war and now the the as we discussed in previous videos, the Senate is basically shut down for 10 days over infighting about Trump's slush fund. So Trump is facing again a fullblown multi-pronged multi-the MAGA rebellion in the Republican Senate and he knows it and he doesn't have a good answer for it. But that's just one clip. Let's continue.
>> Ballroom. The ballroom is uh being a tremendous amount of what's being done with respect to the ballroom is for national security including as an example a drone port on top of which was top secret until litigation made it less than top secret. But we have a drone port. We had all we have also we have the glass that's 4 in thick bulletproof glass. We have bulletproof walls. We have things you need a place like this.
But this is being made as a gift from me and other people that are great patriots that spend a lot of money. We're building what will be the finest ballroom anywhere in the world. Uh if they want to spend money on securing the White House, I think it would be very very much a good expenditure.
Trump insisted that the ballroom, which he didn't get permission for, and it is tied up in litigation because he's just running roughshot over the federal government and federal law pertaining to the ballroom. But he insisted if it did get built, it would be 100% privately funded. And now the taxpayer is going to be on the hook for hundreds of millions of dollars, which is why the Senate parliamentarian uh ruled against it in terms of the reconciliation bill. And Senate Republicans are getting it wiped out of the reconciliation bill, too. Again, this is part of the full-blown Republican rebellion. They know that Trump lied and they know the American taxpayer is super pissed off about it and they're not in a forgiving mood. But Trump wants his damn ballroom and he wants you and I to foot the bill.
>> Uh if they want to spend money on securing the White House, I think it would be very very much a good expenditure. But the ballroom is being built.
>> But if Congress doesn't sign off on the security money, sir, >> uh then the White House won't be a very secure place.
>> But And then regarding Cuba there, >> else won't be a How about you just don't build a ballroom? How about you go through the proper authorization to go get your damn ballroom? If you really want the damn ballroom, how about do it that way? The way that you know, somebody who respects checks and balances, you know, separation of powers, your own allies are in control of the It's not like the Democrats are in control, your own party's in control. Why not even try in good faith to go? But again, it's because Trump doesn't just want, you know, control over the other branches of government. He does is better than the Democrats being in control as far as he's concerned. But he wants total autonomy to do whatever the hell he wants. If Trump has to get permission or buy off or, you know, or buy in, I should say, from an ally, then that undermines Trump because he thinks he should require no cooperation from anybody. That's the psyche of the authoritarian we're dealing with. would be happy to do it. We want to open it up to Cuban Americans where they can go back and help.
>> Released a report this morning, their report on the last election on why you won and Democrats lost. One thing that it mentions is how they failed to reach middle America, southern Americans. Do you think they've learned lessons from that election? And have you seen that report? I think the elections are so rigged and we have to do something about it and we're going to do something about it. But we cannot continue to have and frankly the Senate and the House, they ought to get together and they ought to pass the Save America Act so that you have voter ID and it's so important you have proof of citizenship. Little thing like proof of citizenship and also mail and voting which is so crooked. So in Maryland, >> Montana does mailin voting, a lot of mail and voting. Red states do mail-in voting all the time. Ronda Santis has expanded mail-in voting in Florida. He loves mail-in voting because he's smart enough to recognize Republicans usually enjoy mail-in voting, too. And Republicans do in red states. He's fine with that as long as the state votes for him. That's the thing. Understand Trump has absolutely no principled objection to mail-in voting. He has no genuine agnostic concerns about mail-in voting and its efficacy. It's simply outcome oriented. Do mail-in votes go to me?
Yes. then those mail-in votes are fine.
Mail-in votes who don't go to me or come from people who oppose me, those are not okay. He's just that stupid and that transparently corrupt >> for our country and you'll have 25% of the people coming into our country coming in through birthright citizenship and we won't have any control. This decision by the Supreme Court is a very big one. They'll probably rule against me because they seem to like doing that.
Uh, you know, frankly, uh, uh, I'm not happy with some of the decisions. Look at NIL. Look what they've done. Look what look what the courts have done to college sports. They're destroying college sports. They're destroying universities. But birthright citizens, a big deal. And, uh, literally, if that's allowed to stand, and again, this was a civil war. This was right after the Civil War. And it has to do with the babies of slaves. It doesn't have to do with the babies of very rich people coming into the country.
>> So, as you recall, Donald Trump issued an executive order basically trying to overturn the constitutional uh provision of birthright citizenship. Again, just with a stroke of a pen, not even with buyin from Congress. It's being challenged um in the United States Supreme Court. Um it is expected that even this conservative court will strike Trump's efforts to ban birthright citizenship down. although you never know with this court. So he seems to be also believing that that's going to happen and he's ranting about it in advance even though this court uh gives him I think a success rate between it and the shadow document or between their actual rulings and the shadow docket. Uh I think he has like an 80 plus success rate at the Supreme Court. So it's like dude you're doing just fine.
>> Because I didn't like what I was seeing.
>> Mr. President, a few moments ago the Commission of Fine Arts approved your design redesign for your arch. Do you think you need congressional >> Oh, that's good news. This I finally get good news from you.
>> What was the vote? Do you know what the vote was?
>> What was the vote?
>> I I'm just seeing the headline here. I don't have the exact vote, but >> So, we're building what's called the triumphal ark uh right opposite the Arlington Memorial Bridge right by Arlington Cemetery. It's beautiful. It's the Arc to Triumph would be the one that you would probably know in Paris. It's one of the most beautiful. It's a very similar size, slightly larger. we're doing. We have to do slightly larger. It doesn't have to be a lot larger >> because it's very Freudian for Donald Trump again. He I you know what let me finish that way you can hear it straight from the horse's mouth.
>> Otherwise you'd all be disappointed in me. But it's even far more beautiful.
And I think that the Arct triumph is beautiful. It's you know a couple of hundred years old but I think it's beautiful. And some arcs go back over a thousand years. And it's called a triumphal arc. It's usually uh done for victories and war and things and 59 of them in the world and some are really beautiful. And we're the only major Washington DC which should be number one. We're the only important and major city that doesn't have one. We don't have a triumphal arc. So uh it was meant to be built for many years. The circle going up to the bridge. It was people pass that circle. They say, "Why isn't something built here?" And so, uh, that's very good. We just got approval from fine arts. That's fantastic.
>> You need Congress to sign off on >> No, we don't. No, no, we're doing it.
It's >> They're again trying to sidestep Congress even though his allies are in total control of Congress. This is what I mean, folks. Again, he will tolerate no even no no break check on his power.
Nothing. Absolutely nothing. You can't question. You can't check. there's no oversight. Not just if you're a political opponent, even if you're a political ally, even if you're a cult of personality. So, I imagine he's really upset about the state of things in the Senate here. He rants and raves about the Democratic party.
>> Thank you, Mr. President. So, do you think if Democrats were to take control of Congress again, they would immediately begin the impeachment process? I think if Democrats took control of the Congress, I think that uh and let's say took control of the country, uh I think that this country's finished. These people are sick. They suffer from Trump derangement syndrome, but really they they they have bad policy. They have horrible policy. They >> Democratic policy is generally more popular than Republican policy. Trump, of course, is underwater in every major policy area. Democrats are pulling ahead of him in most. Um, so that's just not true. But again, it just goes to show that Trump doesn't seem to even entertain the idea of losing an election, which makes you wonder what will happen if and when Democrats prevail in the midterms. Is he going to try to do what he did or tried to do in 2020? You know, by defrauding the American people, stealing the election, you know, playing games about certifying results or refusing to seat Democratic winners. What will the Trump-led Republican party get up to if Democrats prevail in both the House and hopefully the Senate as well? Something to think about. So, there you have it, folks. Um, serious stuff talking about the Supreme Court, birthright citizenship, the midterms, the Democratic Party, his, you know, insistence on not having any sort of oversight from Congress, even though his allies control Congress, so it should be relatively simple, and also being confronted with the fact that he's losing control of the Senate. In the meantime, let me know what you think in the comments.
