Neuroscientist Jared Horvath suggests that the current generation is scoring lower on IQ tests than previous generations due to increased screen time, which promotes skimming and superficial learning rather than deep studying, and is further distracted by alerts and notifications, potentially harming cognitive development in this generation and future ones.

This is Why You're Getting Dumber?! 🤯本站添加:
This is the first generation that is scoring lower [music] on IQ test than the previous generation. There's something called the Flynn effect. And the Flynn effect says every generation, the IQ has improved until now. And there's a neuroscientist named Jared Horvath. [music] He is saying it's screen time. Even in the classrooms, they're learning on screens. Well, what happens in a classroom when you're learning on a screen? It's not deep studying like we had where we're learning for a person. It's skimming studying. And maybe there's alerts and notifications distracting you. His belief, and I think it's probably true, is technology is great asset, [music] but it's also harming this current generation and probably generations going forward. I don't think anybody would disagree with that.
