A planet's distance from its star is critical for maintaining habitable conditions; moving Earth to Mars' position would cause catastrophic cooling as reduced sunlight triggers a runaway ice age, while Mars' inward movement would temporarily warm it by exposing ancient subsurface water to the surface.

What If Earth Swapped With Mars? Universe Sandbox #spacesimulation本站添加:
Swap Earth's position with Mars, and humanity freezes almost immediately.
Earth is suddenly pushed 78 million kilometers farther [music] from the sun, cutting the sunlight we receive by more than half. Days grow colder within weeks. Snow begins falling near the equator. Oceans start freezing from the poles downward, and global agriculture collapses. The sun now looks smaller and weaker in the sky, while a full year stretches to 687 [music] days. But the cold isn't the only problem. Mars has a much thinner atmosphere, and Earth slowly begins losing heat faster [music] than it can recover. Massive ice sheets spread across entire continents, reflecting even more sunlight back into space, and triggering a runaway ice age. [music] Meanwhile, Mars is thrown inward toward Earth's old orbit. The frozen planet suddenly heats up. Its polar ice caps melt. Ancient [music] water trapped beneath the surface begins flowing again. And for the first time in billions of years, rain falls on Mars.
But Earth keeps dying. Within centuries, most oceans are sealed beneath kilometers of ice, and the planet slowly transforms [music] into a frozen white world drifting through darkness.
