🚨 Marco Rubio HUMILIATES NATO — Meloni Forced To Face RealityAdded:
Europe. Oh my gosh, what a what a what a like warning sign.
I mean, really, what a disaster. What a disaster Europe has become. What a disaster NATO has become. How shameful.
Marco Rubio over in Rome today meeting with Georgia Maloney and he read the riot act. This was pretty good. He sat down with the pope yesterday. He sits down with Georgia Maloney today. Georgia Maloney, who doesn't really seem to be our friend anymore. I don't know what happened to her. She kind of turned on a dime, don't you think? Anyway, she's the one who won't allow us to use the Siggonella base, which is a very important base there in Sicily. We like to stop over there, right, when we're in route to the Middle East, but she wouldn't let us.
Nope. And Spain, they wouldn't let us use our bases over there. Heck, France wouldn't even let us use the airspace.
So, Spain has been kind of a big deal.
Pain in the neck, thorn in our side. We give them all this money, they give us nothing. In fact, what do they give us?
Bad rhetoric and PR claiming that the war is illegal. They're going to sue us for it and uh yeah, no use of our bases.
So, we don't need to be working with Spain. Georgia Maloney, on the other hand, she was kind of our friend. And then she left us high and dry. I mean, really high and dry. She's left the Italian people eye and dry because now the woman who com complained about immigration non-stop and actually ran on that platform is now welcoming 500,000 migrants into her country. So she's kind of a chameleon, shall we say? And that's being generous, that's being nice. Marco Rubio knows this. He sits down with her today and he comes right out and he starts talking to all the reporters out there. And listen to his words carefully. I want you to hear this because remember Siggonella that was a base that is and was important to us and we asked to be able to use she told us no. Okay, you see it there in Sicily. She told us no and he's not too happy. The president's not too happy. So listen to what he says diplomat that he is. Marco, take it away.
>> I've been a strong supporter of NATO throughout my career in the Senate and even now. One of the advantages of being in NATO is that it allows us to have forces deployed in Europe and bases that allow us a logistical ability to project power in in case of contingencies. Well, we had a contingency and some countries in Europe, some countries in Europe like Spain as an example, denied us the use of those bases for a very important contingency that in some ways the denial of those bases actually impeded the mission not severely but had had a cost and in fact even created some unnecessary dangers. So if the re if if one of the main reasons why the US is in NATO is the ability to have forces deployed in Europe that we could project to other contingencies and now that's no longer the case at least when it comes to some NATO members. That's a problem and it has to be examined. Uh but ultimately that's a decision for the president to make.
>> Okay, you heard that. I heard that. You heard what he said. Ultimately it's a decision for the president. Quick reminder, please subscribe to the channel if you agree with me. and they'd always kind of like jump the shark. Do subscribe. Tell your friends. I'm here every day. But, you know, look, Marco, he went over there. He met with the Pope and everything because the Pope's been kind of talking out of school. But Georgia, I'm sort of surprised at. And he very deliberately didn't say Italy, you know, and he said, "Some countries are not allowing us to use their bases, our bases in their countries." I'm like, "Okay, elephant in the room. Italia Sichilia Siggonella like we can't use it and he didn't say that because I think he's trying to preserve some kind of relationship even with the Pope and with Georgia. So he didn't say Italy for a reason which tells me he's still giving her like a leg to stand on. What do they know? They know that if they come out hard against her and if we take back all the money that we've been giving to Italy, then Italy is, as they say in French, screwed. Okay, totally screwed because they're I was looking at their numbers. I mean, they are so out of whack. Their debt to GDP is a disaster.
Their deficit spending is out of control. They got a whole population, unfortunately for them, of older people and nobody that's young. And it's like a Ponzi scheme on steroids. their their system for pensions and retirement and they can't get rid of this stuff and they can't change that. And I'm not saying you necessarily do, right? I don't think anybody would appreciate that if we did it in the US, but why not say, "Okay, every 21-year-old that comes into the workforce today, you're going to have to have a different kind of account because we just can't keep doing this." Well, that doesn't work either because apparently they have all these older people that they have to keep the Ponzi scheme going. It is a mess. They need a serious restructuring banker to get in there and just tear open the books and say, "In Italy, we are starting over." Okay, but she's not ready for that. And I'll tell you, if we take away all our money, what happens to Italy then? If I were her, I'd be super duper careful. And I think that that was sort of what Marco was saying to her. If you read through the lines, I mean, that was a good sound bite, right? That was a really good soundbite, guys. I like it so much. I want to hear it again. Listen very carefully. This is Marco Rubio immediately after coming out of that meeting with Georgia Maloney, speaking to the Italian reporters as well as everybody else, the international press and using the choice word of saying, well, you know, some countries like Spain did this, so why are we here?
Listen again, this is this is good.
>> I've been a strong supporter of NATO throughout my career in the Senate and even now. One of the advantages of being in NATO is that it allows us to have forces deployed in Europe and bases that allow us a logistical ability to project power in in case of contingencies. Well, we >> you hear that? Okay. So, why do we have NATO? Why do we support all these bases?
He's saying, I've been supporting them.
I've been a a longtime supporter of them and I've supported them because the idea is that we have these bases and in the case of contingencies, we can use them, right? That's why we have them. We don't just have them just for the hell of it.
>> Had a contingency and some countries in Europe, some countries in Europe like Spain as an example denied us the use of those bases for a very important contingency that in some ways the denial of those bases actually impeded the mission not severely but had had a cost and in fact even created some unnecessary dangers.
>> Okay. So it sounds like he's advising him, we have a problem here and we can't continue on paying all this money to countries, frankly, that are mature and should be able to do it on their own and just aren't incentivized to get their act together. Nope. Because you know what?
We're always there. We're handing out money. And then they turn around and they say, "F you."
France and Italy and Spain pretty notorious at this point. You got Turkey, which isn't great, and many others.
though it's worth revisiting this because why are we spending $2 to5 billion in Italy per year just on personnel only if we can't even access these bases it doesn't fly and he's annoyed as all heck you heard him in the Italian press we talked about this in deer that's our New York Times and now the press suddenly likes her right they hated her before because she's a conservative and now they're like oh maybe she's grown on me because Donald Trump is not happy with He told Gier de Lasera, "Do they" He said, "Do they like the fact? Do the Italians like the fact that your president hasn't given us any help on the oil? Do they like that? I can't imagine that. Can't imagine that they like it." Right. I'm shocked at her. Georgia Melon, I thought she had courage. I was wrong. And then they said, "Well, did you talk to her about it?" He's like, "No, she's out there saying America can't America can't use the bases. Okay, so we got to improvise.
We got to figure out something else."
Oh, Germany hasn't been too nice either.
Actually, Germany, you know this. I mean, the guy was saying nasty stuff.
He's like, "Oh, you know, the US has been humiliated." Yeah, we're humiliated. All right. All the way to the bank. Did you see the stock market today? S&P hitting yet another high.
Okay, this is not what I call humiliation. This is what I call absolutely glorious and somebody willing to take a chance at the right time. And that's what we did. So, Germany is kind of paying the price. They're getting 5,000 troops yanked out. And Donald Trump said, "Hey, there may be more.
There may be more." So, Georgia Maloney may be listening to this. Georgia Maloney betrayed us. And her citizens, the people that voted for Georgia Maloney, so she doesn't seem to be any friend of ours right now, and she's certainly not a friend to the constituents that voted for her. You see the headline there from Bloomberg? She oeded 500,000 migrants to come into Italy. And guess what? She's offering them benefits, too. and then turns around and doesn't even have the decency to let us use the base that we've been paying for. He has had it.
>> Italy has not been of any help to us and Spain has been horrible.
>> Wow. So, this is what you call a kind of betrayal.
when you get elected on one issue and then you completely do a 180 as Georgia Maloney has because oh I don't know pressures of governing right she's got NATO breathing down her back but by the way she's not giving them what they have asked for either or what the president has asked for she's she's stiffening us on that check she was supposed to commit 5% of GDP she's not doing that she can't even do 2% for goodness sakes I mean this is not good and then she's turning her back on all of these voters who voted for her under the idea that she was going to come in and be some kind of savior. And now she, you know, a couple days ago before Marco got there and talked some sense into her, she's like still picking a fight while out in Armenia and talking to the press about what the president had said about possibly taking troops out of Italy. He could pull 13,000 of them pretty darn easily. Georgia, >> look, I can't tell you what will happen.
As I've said many times before, we know that for some time now the United States has, shall we say, been discussing a withdrawal from Europe, which is why I believe we must strengthen our security and let's say develop our capacity to respond in this regard. That said, it is clearly a decision that does not depend on me and one that I personally would not support. But there is one thing I would like to make clear. Italy has always honored its commitments. Italy has honored every commitment it has undertaken. It has always done so. We have done so particularly within NATO.
We have done so even when our direct interests were not at stake. We did so in Afghanistan. We did so in Iraq. And so let's say I do not consider some of the things that have been said about us to be fair. Not least because within the Atlantic alliance, no one has ever appeared in a formal setting to ask the Allies support regarding the choices they were making. Okay, so that was a direct hit at Trump for not consulting with the Europeans. This is their excuse, guys. They keep using this excuse over and over and over again. I had to listen to the head of NATO give us that excuse. Well, you know, people are upset because you didn't ask us. We don't ask. Okay. I'm sorry. And by the way, we are effectively the parents. All right. I'm sorry, but we pay your bills.
Okay? Like when you pay your bills, you can make your own decisions, too. But right now, we pay the bills. So, when we say we need to stop over and use the base, we expect to be able to use the base. when we say, "Hey, we have an opportunity to take these guys out in Iran." We're going to take that opportunity and no, we're not going to consult you. We're not. We're doing this for the betterment of the world and frankly for you guys as well because you rely on that oil, frankly, more than we do. How about that? We got a lot of oil here. You guys don't. You've been so obsessed with windmills and green energy. You've completely let that whole ship fly.
Angela Miracle alone. I mean, think about Angela Miracle and how she was so intent on doing deals with Vladimir Putin because why? I mean, we warned her. We said don't. We said don't do all those deals with Vladimir Putin and don't rely on Russia for your energy. And what did she do? She did it anyway. And this Georgia Maloney, she's now betraying effectively Trump. Marco trying to talk some sense into her. I suspect he did, but you know, you can't just keep doing that.
And you certainly can't keep stiffing us on the check like you've been doing.
She's not even paying her 2% this year.
I mean, come on. Come on. Come on.
Enough already. Basta. Okay. Basta.
Enough. Enough. Enough.
