There the government issued a tender for construction of a 3000 litre water tank which cost around ₹17 lakh. The rule says that contractors should receive tender details on May 13.

[00:00:53]Just 6 hours. For such a big government work, and the most surprising thing is that the tender was awarded to someone the very next day on 19th May.

[00:01:02]Seeing this, the opposition party DMK, which had lost the elections this time, directly targeted the government on TV. DMK said this is not administrative speed. This is preplanned contract politics [music]. Meaning his allegation was that it had already been decided as to who should be given the contract. The tender was just a show to complete the formalities. The allegation was that the entire process was done so quickly to prevent outside bidders and to benefit a particular [music] contractor. As soon as the allegations were made, the TV government swung into action [music] and that too quickly. Within a few hours the government cancelled the entire tender. Not only this, two government officers were immediately suspended and orders were also given to investigate the entire tender process. On one hand, some people are calling it the responsibility of the government that they accepted their mistake. Made improvements. On the other hand, the opposition says that if everything was right then why did all this happen in the first place? And this is not the first time Vijay 's new government has been embroiled in controversy [music].
