A former Liberal Party member explains his political realignment to support Pierre Poilievre and the Conservatives, citing concerns about national debt (where interest payments now exceed healthcare spending), opposition to the woke/transgender agenda, and criticism of unrealistic net-zero climate policies that make life unaffordable; he values Poilievre's focus on practical issues over emotional appeals.

Why This Former Liberal Now Supports Pierre PoilievreAdded:
Before I explain why I support Pierre Poilievre, I want to make two very quick points. The first one is that I have not always voted conservative. In point of fact, I was once a card-carrying member of the Liberal Party.
And I voted liberal many times. And secondly, I've never met Pierre Poilievre. I have not even a handshake.
So, why does this former liberal now back Poilievre and the Conservative Party?
Well, one big reason is debt. Our federal government is now spending more paying interest on the massive national debt than it does on healthcare.
And the only politician I hear talking about this is Pierre Poilievre.
Now, when the Liberals took power in 2015, there was actually a $1.9 billion surplus. You can look it up.
Now, I voted liberal in 2015 because I believed their promise. They said they were only going to run small deficits at the start of their mandate, and then they were going to return us to a balanced budget by 2019.
And they didn't deliver. And things have only gotten worse, much, much worse.
I'm also not a fan of the so-called woke and transgender agenda, this ideology. I am like a majority of Canadians. I do not believe that biological males, I do not believe they should be competing against women and girls in competitive sports.
Now, when it comes to climate change and Carney's fixation on Cana- Canada achieving net zero carbon emissions, I'm a realist. We are 40 million people in this country. And even if Canada achieved this goal, it wouldn't have any meaningful impact on global climate.
All this pointless attempt at achieving net zero does, the only thing it's doing is to make life so unaffordable that the federal government is now having to borrow even more money to help Canadians buy food.
Now, when it comes to Pierre Poilievre specifically, I like that he fixates on the real issues. [clears throat] And I recognize that he might seem cold and calculated.
Poilievre strikes me as being focused and driven.
I see him as being largely devoid of the touchy-feely emotional appeals that politicians typically love.
And for me, that speaks to integrity and to a willingness to confront the challenges that Canadians are actually face facing, especially younger people, rather than playing on emotion over issues like global climate that Canadians realistically we can't do anything about it.
Now, there's a lot more that I could say, but I do want to keep this video short and I do plan to revisit this topic over the next week or two with I'm thinking of doing three more videos. In one, I want to address the real reasons why Pierre Poilievre lost his Ottawa area riding of Carleton.
Another, I want to realistically look at what I view as a massive challenge [snorts] that the conservatives are facing in trying to defeat Carney's liberals. It It is not going to be easy by any stretch. And finally, uh the last one will be about the reasons why powerful interests, including the liberals and their friends in the legacy media, why they seem so desperate to sideline or or completely remove Pierre Poilievre from from the entire political landscape. So, thank you for watching.
