Tesla’s FSD 14.3.2 makes impressive gains in basic navigation, yet the aggressive "Mad Max" profiles feel like a step backward into artificial impatience. It is a competent update that proves technical progress while highlighting the lingering gap between programmed logic and human intuition.

TESLA FSD 14.3.2 DRIVE TO IN-N-OUT AND LEE’S SANDWICHES追加:
Hey guys, it's Stephen. Uh, welcome to another FSD video. Uh, first of all, I just wanted to say thank you guys for having me hit 100 subscribers. Uh, it really does mean a lot to me just seeing you guys comment and like and just especially with the comments because you guys kind of gave me like a baseline to go off of. You guys, I know you guys have been giving me some routes to go on and um I know some of you guys have told me some things about like the camera setup. So, yeah, I I really appreciate it. It's a pretty big milestone for me.
So, um I have two locations set here.
I'm going to go to In-N-Out and then Lee Sandwiches. I don't think it should be too long of a of a trip. So, I'm going to go ahead and get started. So, first place should be In and Out.
And it's going to try to navigate its way out of the parking lot here.
Oh, we got somebody backing up when they shouldn't be.
And again, I'm always going to be on hurry.
And we have it set to park in the parking lot.
So, we're going to make a left here.
And I changed the camera setup just a little bit. uh just kind of like a wider shot of the cabin now. So, uh it's a little further zoomed out than before.
Uh you guys can still see a good view of the screen like with the speed and visualizations and everything, but uh just a little wider view of the cabin.
So, we're going to make a right on your Belinda Boulevard here.
So, we should be able to go. Nice job.
And we're going to make a left turn on Kramer.
So, great job.
So, it's about three a little over three and a half miles to get to In-N-Out.
11 minute drive.
And yeah, then we're going to go to uh Lee Sandwiches after that. So yeah, we're good to go there.
And yeah, just my last few days with uh 14.3.2 have been great. Uh same smoothness as before. Uh a couple things I did notice are that the if it if the car is making a turn, the indicators will turn on like a little bit later than before. I know some people complained it turned on too early. Uh kind of confused the drivers behind them.
Personally, I don't really care just because like when I when I see someone in front of me signaling, I go based off their speed. Uh not just their signal.
But uh yeah, it's it's nice to have. It's it's great. But just a little minor minor update there.
And then what was the other thing? Oh, the speed profiles. So Hurry and Mad Max now have been uh whenever they're out of stop, they take off a lot faster. I I think I tried it with MadMax, too. It's almost like a launch. Uh [snorts] I'm not sure why that got updated, but yeah, it's a little more aggressive on the more aggressive on the takeoff with Hurry and MadMax.
Uh I think standard is where it kind of feels the most natural. I tried I tried it with all three of those profiles, but yeah, just something I noticed.
Again, nothing safety critical, nothing like that.
The car has been doing a great job.
And again, we have like the parking preferences we still need to work on.
And then uh navigation's been an issue for a while now.
But I mean, just taking you from A to B.
There's no issue. Like I I don't remember the last time I drove to be honest. But um yeah, I mean it's been great.
And you guys seem to really like the video I had with Raymond.
Uh, I feel like I got to do some more videos like that with just just with people who've never tried the software and FSD just to see how they react to it. But yeah, that's probably my favorite video so far. And you guys seem to really like it. So yeah, I mean, even if you guys want to try, if you're not like a total weirdo, um, I wouldn't mind taking you guys for a ride or having the car take you for a ride, I guess. But yeah, if if you know, one thing about me is that is I I love people's reactions to things. Even like I would go on YouTube and search like somebody's reaction to a movie or something.
That's just me. I love reactions.
So, um yeah. Not sure who I want to do that with next, but we'll see.
I prefer someone who's never even tried this. I know some people have Teslas and they've never even tried out FSD, which is mind-blowing to me, but I feel like it's more fun if just someone completely brand new from a totally different car who's never been in a Tesla, kind of like Raymond. I feel like those would be a lot more fun.
So, yeah, we're waiting at this light right here, making a left turn on uh Baston Cherry.
I don't think you guys can see, but I have a cross guard here to my left.
Should be about another 8 minutes, 3 miles to In and Out.
If you guys are watching the game today, go Lakers, I'm excited.
It's going to be game one in OKC. So, we'll see how it goes.
Still waiting on Luca. We got Austin Reeves back. Still waiting on Luca.
So, yeah, I'm hoping to at least split one in OKC just for just to give time for Luca to come back. But yeah, for my Laker fans, I'm still planning a trip to the Laker game. Don't worry. I know I've said it a bunch of times, but I don't know when I'm going to go.
So, it's that and LAX. I I really want to go to LAX just because I feel like it's the most stress I could put the car under.
But I might just have a day dedicated to LA that day. I'm not sure.
But yeah, don't worry. It's coming. I just don't know when yet.
Cool. Nothing crazy so far. Just a bunch of lights.
Curious to see how it does parking in and out just because I know it's pretty busy there.
And yeah, let me know. Let me know what you guys want to see. I mean, like I said, I I've had a few of you guys suggest some some routes for me.
But yeah, let me know.
So, we got a 45 coming up here.
Speed limit 45. It should go a little higher.
Oh, we got a light here. So maybe we'll see afterwards.
But yeah, I just that last video I did, it was just really interesting to me because I had Raymond just put in get in the car in the driver's seat without ever having been in its house line. He just put in a destination and just had the car had the car navigate there just without even touching the pedals or steering wheel.
I think that video was just under an hour. So, that kind of goes to show you how how impressive it's been.
Yeah. So yeah, it's going 47 now into a 45.
Slowing down for the curve here.
So great job.
Gonna make a right on State College Boulevard.
I think that's the next light coming up.
Or maybe the one after.
No, I think it's this one.
Cool. So, signaling right there.
So, yeah, we got the green light. We should be making a right right away.
Very good. We got about just over a mile to arrive at In-N-Out.
Little bit of a bumpy road here.
Cool. So, we're going to try to get around this truck.
hasn't really got a chance to get up to speed yet just because of the the stop lightss here, but I think it's pretty it's been pretty consistent with 1432.
Just goes a little higher than the speed limit. I' I I was on the freeway right now. It went up to 80 on the freeway.
So, it's been pretty good for me.
I know some people have been complaining like it camped a little bit too much in one lane. I haven't had that experience personally.
Uh I know MadMax does not at all. Mad Max is constantly moving from lane to lane but hurry not as much which I'll take just because of the speed of MadMax. But yeah, it's been great for me. If you guys have personal experiences, let me know.
But yeah, I think speed profiles have been pretty dialed in right now.
So, left turn coming up here.
Imperial Highway and yeah. So, yeah, let me know what you guys think.
Could have set up and If you guys have anything on your mind, I don't know. I'm trying to like find busier spots, but where I live isn't like a super complicated, busy area. I think Brea is a little more packed, but nothing crazy like LA or something.
Uh, so we got in and out to our left here and we're going to make a left and then we're going to try to find parking.
And I know you guys enjoyed the summon videos as well. Those were pretty fun for me, too. Especially the Costco one.
But if you guys have FSD, especially on version 14 with uh 14.3.2, highly recommend just go to Costco, sit in the back seat, and then just have it navigate have it navigate around Costco with the with the windows rolled down. It's the funniest thing ever. It's hilarious. You guys got to try it.
So, nice job here.
So, in and out is to our left and we're going to try to find parking.
So, nice job.
Going to squeeze by here.
Very nice. And are we going to try to back in? Looks like we're going to try to back in.
Yeah.
So, it's being cautious for that pedestrian there.
Got somebody parking behind us.
So, yeah, nice job. So, that's in and out. And we're going to go to uh Lee Sandwiches. Is there one closer? Let me see if there's one closer.
[snorts] We got one on.
Is that the closest one? Orange torp.
Yeah, let's do it. Why not?
So, it's going to be about 18 minutes.
It's about 6 and a half miles. And it did kind of break jab for that car there just because they were reversing.
Don't mind that at all. It's the safest thing to do.
So, right turn at the stop sign.
Again, we're going to do a full stop.
Stop sign behavior's been great. Been a lot better than before with uh stopping and going.
I did notice it a little more on the stop. It's a little aggressive, too. I didn't notice it on my first video, but it it is actually a little more aggressive on the stop and on the go, but yeah, great job with stop signs.
Going to make a right on Imperial here.
Got some traffic.
Yeah, this looks like a little little like a busy area here. Might have to come back here.
My top priority though is LA for sure.
I've only been to LA one time on version 14, but I it wasn't like uh like the same setup you see now, and it's Yeah, it was totally different before like this was before I even uh started my channel.
But yeah, top priorities LA. Oh, little hesitation there.
Okay. Uh I think it wants to take the 57. Yeah.
So, little bit of hesitation there.
Wonder if it is it going to try to go right here. Let me see what it's trying to do. Or can you go straight from here?
See, I'm not even sure. Usually, if it's a solid line like that, it usually means just the right turn.
Let me see. Let's see what happens when the light turns green.
I've seen it where it's like a straight and then a right on the same lane. So, this could be that kind of scenario. I'm not too sure. I think that's why there was a little bit of hesitation there.
I've noticed it's like a little bit more cautious with pedestrians. Like you'll you'll feel like a little brake stab here and there.
Uh I don't mind it. Pedestrians are number one safety priority when it comes to self-driving. So I don't mind it at all. But yeah, that's another thing I noticed. Just those little minor minor details.
Uh let's see.
Yeah. So, this is a straight end, right?
So, we're good there.
I think the car thought it was just a right turn, which is why it hesitated.
But, yeah, great job.
So, we're going to get on the on-ramp here on the 57.
Going to get a little freeway driving for you guys.
Freeways have again been pretty smooth.
Got a light here.
Not sure if I've seen this sign before.
Yeah, one car per green. So, we should be stopping. Yeah.
So, great job there.
I've seen it before where it's uh two cars per green and the car actually obeyed that which was really impressive to me.
But uh I have to show you guys that I think it's the I forgot which freeway entrance it was.
But yeah, it does know most signs, but not all signs are there yet.
And it's not really too consistent with signs yet.
So, we have about two and a half miles to get to our exit, Orange Thorp.
Got 15 minutes left on the total trip.
I think I'm at about 20 minutes now. So, again, don't want to make it too long.
Curious to see if it's going to go over a little bit. I mean, there's traffic everywhere. I don't I wouldn't mind if it stays put, but let's see what it does.
Yeah, looks like there's some traffic here on the map. If you guys can see that.
And again, the follow distance has been great with 1432.
Haven't had any issues on the freeway.
It's been beautiful.
That's somebody trying to signal in here.
Got a truck to our left, so we can't turn yet.
Nice job braking.
I would go to the left now personally, but let's see what the car does here.
It might just stay put to get to the exit. That's that's another thing I noticed is that it gets over to the like before it would get it would get over to the right lane to make an exit like really late, but now it does it really early on the freeway. So, I'm not sure if that's what's going on here cuz we still have about a mile, like a little over a mile and a half to go, but it's still staying put here on the right lane.
But, uh, yeah, just these little observations I'm kind of noticing with, uh, with each update.
Let's see if MadMax does anything.
Curious.
Nothing yet. Staying put.
Maybe when we get more space. Let's see.
Usually MadMax is pretty pretty good about picking uh moving over lanes pretty uh aggressively.
That's an exit lane to the right. So, nice job not making a right.
It's a pretty hard break there.
Great distance. Great braking.
Yeah, I think it's just going to stay here till the exit. So, I'm just going to put it back on hurry.
But I would have gone a little further left uh further back there.
Um I think that's Yeah, that's pretty new with the 1432. 14225 would have been would have taken the left lane and then got back over to the right as as it got closer to the exit, but I noticed with 1432, it likes to stay put uh pretty early on before the exit before we start heading over for the exit.
So, I think we need to balance that out because before people were complaining about it merging too late to get to the exit, but now it feels like it's too early. So, I think we need like a like a balance in between maybe with like I think half a mile is a good like median between the two because if you go over too early, you're stuck in traffic kind of like this. I mean, there's kind of traffic overall, but there's more traffic on the right here, especially with the cars emerging here. But then if you go too late, you have a chance of missing your exit. So, there's got to be a fine line.
But yeah, sorry if this is the boring part. I may or may not uh speed through this part, but yeah.
So yeah, that lane camping thing is definitely there.
See how there's cars merging here?
I think it's just afraid to miss the exit. I think that's why it doesn't want to go over to the left.
So, yeah.
It's kind of crazy. Even on Mad Max, it didn't even want to move.
And if you have experience with Mad Max, you know what I'm talking about. Like, it doesn't like to stay put.
Yeah, we got another 10 minutes. I'm not sure if traffic held us back a little bit, but uh the exit should be in about half a mile.
All right, I might keep this part in just because I can give some cr like constructive feedback to people who are uh waiting to get this update or if Tesla's even watching.
But yeah, so exits here, Orange Thorp Avenue, making a right.
So that's like the signal behavior now.
That's how close you have to be to for it to signal. I've had it before, too, where I've gotten on it on the like 91, for example, and it didn't signal at all. That's totally new with uh with FSD. usually signals for everything, even uh even for parking spots. So, it's not very many times, but I I have seen it where it doesn't signal on this version. So, that's another thing. I'm just remembering things as I as I go on here, just looking at the road, but I know it seems like a thousand things at once, but just the little nuances I'm pointing out.
So, right on red here, got some traffic from the left.
A few more cars here. We should be able to go. Nice job.
Nice job going over to the left here.
So, we got a flashing red. That's going to be my first experience on version 14 with the flashing red.
And it should just treat it as a stop sign as any driver would do.
And we should be about 2 miles away from uh Lee Sandwiches.
So, it just it should just start to creep forward and then look look at traffic in all directions and then uh proceed forward.
So, we're coming up here.
So, nice job.
Got traffic from the left and the right.
Got somebody from the right there. Got traffic ahead. Slowly creeping up here. Great job.
So, great job with the flashing red.
And then I don't think the rest of the video should be too interesting.
Uh should just be a straight road.
Two miles to make a right turn into the parking lot. But I'll show you guys how it parks. It's going to be fully unedited.
I think we'll wrap up with like a third I think the total time is going to be 35 minutes, a little over 35 minutes for the total for the video.
And if you guys want to let me know, uh you guys can let me just tell me what time preference you guys like like how what your attention span is pretty much cuz I know if it's a longer video um people tend to click away.
Uh I did have a longer video with Raymond just because it was his first reaction. And I think that's important just to see uh what new what new users see with FSD.
So there will be exceptions, but I want to know like what's your guys' target time for for these videos.
I think personally I think I think I'm going to stick to like the 20 like 30 minute mark. I know I'm going a little over now, but I'm not going to have it perfect obviously, but I feel like 20 30 minutesish would be pretty good.
But yeah, let me know. I might start a poll if you guys want to. I I might start a poll on the on the YouTube page just so you guys can vote. But yeah, either comment or just leave your vote on the poll and then I'll go from there.
Another nice look at those gas prices.
66 639 a gallon.
It's ridiculous, but yeah, there's another reason to buy a Tesla there.
And yeah, you guys should still have a good visualization on the screen here.
You guys should be able to see everything.
Same with the speed at the top. So yeah, I think this is I think this is a good view. I think I might stick to this one.
All right.
So, got faded lane markings here. It's doing a great job staying in its lane, quote unquote.
And we got about half a mile to half a mile to go.
Nice job at the railroad crossing. No issues there.
And let me know what you guys think about a side camera. I've been thinking about that. just a side camera uh towards the right of my glass roof just so you guys can see me and like I guess my reactions to things, but I'm not sure. I'm I'm thinking about that one. I'm not sure if I'm going to go through with it.
I don't think it's really necessary as long as you guys can see like the dashboard and like the steering wheel and the pedals uh and the road obviously. But um yeah, that's that's just something I'm thinking about. Not too sure yet.
So, we're going to make a right on at the light and then we should be parking pretty soon.
Slowly going up for traffic here.
light turned red. So, we're going to have to wait.
Another bumpy road here.
That's the other thing they're still working on. I think I mentioned it when 1432 came out is the pothole avoidance.
Uh we don't I haven't had a lot of encounters with potholes.
Maybe other places that are not California. I know LA has a bunch of potholes.
Um, but yeah, that's something they're still working on.
It's good at seeing things in the road, like above the ground, not necessarily in the ground. Um, like cardboard boxes for example, or just clothes. it'll move around for that, but it's ne like what's actually in the ground is what they're still focusing on.
And I can imagine why that would be a harder issue to solve, but you don't want to damage your wheels and tires.
But yeah, luckily, personally, I haven't had a lot of encounters with them on FSD.
This light's taking a while here, so let's see what happens. It's going to go ahead of the light, actually. Sorry.
It's not going to make it right here.
It's going to park. Uh, it's going to make it right right here, I think.
Yeah. So, there's Lee sandwiches to the right. And then it's a great right turn here. Oh, hesitation.
Nice job still.
Uh I'm not sure if we're supposed to enter from here.
It's going to back up.
Yeah, we can enter from here.
It's interesting because technically this is parking for uh um like the way the parking spots are structured, it should be nobody coming from that way. I nobody coming from the way we just came in.
So yeah, correct me if I'm wrong. That's interesting. It's the way the parking lot setup is interesting. But yeah, that's the end of the video. Uh let me know if you guys liked. Please like, comment, subscribe.
I'm looking forward to making more videos. And uh yeah, I appreciate you guys. Thank you so much. Have a good one.
