MOVA LiDAX Ultra 3000 AWD Robot Mower: RTK-Free Setup!本站添加:
Hey everyone, Tim Schofield here. And what if you never had to mow your lawn again, like ever? Well, I've been testing the Lydex Ultra 3000 all-wheel drive from Mowva, and it's been really impressive. No GPS stake in the ground, no random boundary wires, and no complicated setup. It's just intelligent autonomous mowing. Big thanks to Mowva for sponsoring this video and sending over the Lydex Ultra 3000 all-wheel drive for us to check out. With this robotic lawn mower, you get all-wheel drive wheels, a ton of app functionality, and even AI object detection. So, we will quickly unbox this mower, walk through the setup process, and then put it to the test.
Let's get started. Opening up the box, everything is neatly packaged with a quick start guide, user manual. You get your stakes for that base station, and a hex key to tighten them. Really nice, it comes with 36 spare blades and screws for the bottom of that lawn mower. I do really like this power supply because it comes with a really long cable, which is great so you don't have to run extension cables from your house. You can just use the power supply and connect it to the base station. You get a cleaning brush, which will conveniently attach to that base station. That base station comes with a bottom plate, plus the charging tower, as well. And I know what you came to see, the Lydex Ultra 3000, which actually, with that lidar sensor up at the top, has a protective cover that comes with it. And the overall design is extremely impressive, especially those wheels. They're very rugged, so to speak, but that's a really good thing because you can have it sort of all-terrain on different types of ground. And obviously, not everyone's yard is completely flat, so it's great for inclines. Down at the bottom is where you will see those blades that will continuously cut your grass very even. And again, just an overall sleek look. It has a light on the back, plus a big red stop on top in case you need it.
Flipping open that lid is where you can manually control it, so you don't have to use the app if you don't want to.
Now, let's get this set up. But, most mowers in this category still require an RTK antenna that you'll have to install in your yard or on your roof, basically connecting to GPS satellites to route your lawn mower. The Lydex Ultra 3000, as you saw, does not come with an RTK stake. You basically just set up that base station, get it charged up, and you're ready to go. And if you've been on the fence about robotic lawn mowers because of some of these tedious setups, honestly, look no further. This was so simple. Now, let's talk about mapping, and this is basically where you teach the mower your yard layout, especially cuz nobody's yard is the exact same. The Lydex Ultra gives you two options. You can do it manually, where you walk the boundary yourself and control it via the app, or you can let it map automatically. And I did a mix of both.
Maybe in those trickier spots, switched it over to manually. In those straight lines along the fence, you could just do it automatic. The app made it super intuitive. It was really easy to set up.
Once you have your full boundary, you can see your yard, and inside the app, you can set up no-go zones, so it can avoid those flower beds, maybe trampolines, whatever you've got in your yard, and you can connect paths between different zones. So, if you have a front and backyard, and you need it to go along a path, you can just set that up in the app. And pro tip, it's actually really fun to just watch this thing work. Within the app, in real time, it will update its location, and even the path that it's going on, and fill the map on the screen. It's really cool. All of those smart app features get unlocked once everything's mapped, and you can schedule mowing times, adjust the cutting height, which is huge, and even control the mowing direction. Yes, you can spin it 180°, so it can go in any direction, and you can even set checkerboard or crisscross patterns.
Aside from a full mow, you can choose edges only, specific spots, and even manual mowing. And I really do love that scheduling feature with specific days and times and type of cut you want.
There's even an option to set a spring, summer, and winter fall schedule. And don't worry, let's say it's pouring rain, and you don't want to run the lawn mower, it will automatically detect the rain. There's a sensor on that Lydex Ultra 3000 on top, so even if it does have a cut schedule, they will know, "Hey, it's a little too wet outside.
Let's wait for that rain to go away, and then do the cut." You can add multiple maps, and speaking of that map, I was able to split it into two zones, which was nice cuz I want to cut those two areas differently in my yard. You can fully customize that edge mowing, and selecting ultra trim 2.0 will shift the blade discs to the side to make sure those edges are really getting cut.
Lidar obstacle recognition and obstacle avoidance height can be changed based on your yard, and even how far you'd like to stay away from those objects. Within advanced settings, there's a lot more to fully customize based on your needs, including charging, anti-theft, child lock, and a lot more. Now, for one of the most important parts, and that's that object detection, because of course, no one's yard is completely clean. There's things in the yard, there's toys that get left out, chairs potentially. And so, let's put that to the test. Now, the dog Mabel was a big help in this video. I used her toys, uh especially those smaller balls, and it did a good job going around those. And then I graduated to larger toys, and that was just absolutely no problem.
Even a chair, it knew to just sort of avoid and go around. And the big part is humans and potentially pets. So, it would recognize Mabel. It even said in the app, you could go into it, it said a certain percentage of certainty that a dog that crossed its path, and it definitely stopped. It slowed down. It made sure to avoid Mabel at all costs when Mabel got in the way, because of course, she's all over the place. Now, shoes and humans, as well, just get avoided. I made sure to stand in its path, and every single time I did, it would just sort of come at me and then stop, and go around me, and avoid me completely. And you can set that distance of how far away from objects that it goes. The Lydex Ultra 3000 uses AI to detect all of these objects, and it's really fun after it does a mow, go into the app, and you can tap on all these different things, whether it's tools, it'll say toys, it'll say pets, humans, all of that good stuff, and give you a certain amount of certainty. But, it knows when it detects an object, and it pretty much knows what that object is. Now, let's talk edges of your yard, because if you know robotic lawn mowers, that's usually a weak point. And what's the whole point if it's going to go around your yard, you're going to have to go with a string trimmer anyways and get all the way around your yard. That's where ultra trim on the Lydex Ultra 3000 comes in. It's one of the cleanest edge cuts I've seen from a robotic lawn mower, especially when it goes along those garden beds, those mulch beds, as well. It sticks right up to it, and even along the fence line, even. So, realistically, for a lot of yards, this could just handle everything on its own.
And of course, that AWD in the name, all-wheel drive with those very powerful and rugged wheels with that suspension system. lawn is completely flat. Even mine has some pretty steep inclines, and the Ultra 3000 runs on all-wheel drive with that suspension system, and you can see it working when it hits uneven ground, and even those holes that will be in everyone's yard. What's nice is the body stays level while the wheels take on the impact, so that your cut stays even. So, after running this on my yard and doing a lot of different testing, let's talk about the actual results. And you'll see on the time lapse, it follows an efficient pattern, it covers the lawn evenly, and the final cut looks really clean. That dual-blade cutting system is powered by a 36-V battery, and it does a really good job at covering the surface in an even fashion. It seems very powerful and quick. And honestly, the big thing here is consistency, especially cuz you can schedule it. It will keep your lawn at a similar length at all times, and it will look really good. The edge cutting is real, it's very smart when going between different zones, that AI avoidance works, the all-wheel drive works on slopes. And being able to set it up without that RTK stake is such a massive advantage. So, overall, the Lydex Ultra 3000 all-wheel drive from Mowva is the easiest robotic lawn mower I've used, especially with that simple setup process, the app that has a ton of intuitive features, and all of those features that just simply work. So, anyways, I will link to everything down in the description of the video below.
