The video highlights the harsh reality that near-total knowledge is still insufficient when the margin for success requires absolute mastery. It is a sobering look at how a single literary blind spot can collapse an otherwise sophisticated intellectual streak.

Art Plays Connections For Monday June 1Añadido:
What's up everybody? We're going to attempt to solve the Connections puzzle.
We're going to do it for Monday, June 1st, 2026.
Let's go ahead and hit the play button.
And today we've got some Okay, some uh smaller words and longer words, which is good. Okay, we've got the wedding, menagerie, onion, newspaper, cat, wall, robe, streetcar, window, key, door, ceiling, slippers, tree, pipe, and tattoo.
Um I'm thinking of two novels, neither of which I've read, but I'm but I've heard of. A Streetcar Named Desire and The Glass Menagerie.
And it could potentially be either famous American titles of famous American novels or they could be from Tennessee Williams, I think his name was.
Tennessee Williams. I actually have this American authors poster, but he's not there.
Well, I'll have to be a little careful.
I mean, it does look pretty interesting, cuz I don't see what else could go with streetcar unless it's wordplay like beginning with types of roads or ending with vehicles, but yeah.
Okay, I'll keep them lit up for potential going into a category, hopefully.
Uh let's get our easy stuff out of the way.
Uh wedding, the Red Wedding. If anybody was a Game of Thrones fan, they know that was probably one of the best episodes ever.
>> [snorts] >> I don't I don't know The Red Wedding.
I don't know what else that would go with red.
Oh, hang on. Let's Let's try it. Tattoo, newspaper, >> I was thinking things that use ink.
Uh but I don't really think it goes much further.
Fat cat.
>> [snorts] >> Window, door, ceiling, wall.
Um There we go. That's That's got to be an easy one. Let's see if we can get rid of that and it doesn't I don't think it'll interfere with my potential Tennessee Williams category. I know it's pretty easy but sometimes you just have to you know, let's get rid of some some words here.
Are these you know uh features of a features of a house or building.
Room features. Okay.
Oh, good. Um Onion is a magazine but I don't think they There's other magazines here.
Sorry, just someone texted me.
Just want to make sure it's not too important.
Now we're good. Okay.
>> [snorts] >> Tree.
Slippers, wet. Okay.
If I had a guess, if the if I'm right, I go like something Street Car Named Desire, Wedding, and Slippers. Could be all words in his in titles of those novels I'm talking about. Potentially all by Tennessee Williams.
>> I mean shoot, onion has skin.
Tree sort of tattoo doesn't have skin.
Tattoo is on the skin.
Robe.
Cat.
Key.
>> [snorts] >> Um slippers, robe.
Could be things you wear, you know, at [clears throat] night.
But then I don't think anything else really works there.
>> [snorts] >> I mean, I'm going to I guess I'll give this a shot.
Famous novels maybe by Tennessee Williams.
Not one away.
Not one away. And I I'm almost certain it would have to involve Streetcar and Menagerie.
And I don't know what else I would put that with. So, I think we might have to pretty much abandon that.
You know, unless he had um something unless there's like a title with like newspaper or the or something with a tree.
Uh okay.
Well, okay. That's fine. I mean, I'm going to have to partially abandon it.
Maybe we can Can we get some word play out of here?
Menagerie.
Again, I only know the the Glass Menagerie. So, I still feel like there could be some titles of novels at play here.
>> [snorts] >> Huh.
All righty. What are we going to do? Um >> [sighs and gasps] [snorts] >> Tattoo, I like that too.
>> [clears throat] >> Key.
Oh, boy. Um, robe.
Tree, cat, onion, pipe, tattoo, key.
Man, this is tough.
I feel like there should be some image thing going on particularly with the tattoo and maybe the onion.
But I can't I can't seal the deal.
>> [clears throat] [snorts] >> Glass slippers, glass menagerie, but I don't think anything else is necessarily glass.
>> [sighs] >> Oh, boy. Um, yeah, extremely nervous here. Onion tree Oh my gosh, what's going on here?
I mean, I'm certainly not going to forget the ones that I already put in that were not one away.
And of course, it's annoying that he used pipe again.
Sorry, just let me let this person know that I'll need a few more minutes.
Okay.
Damn, I'm I'm having trouble here, guys.
Um wedding, slippers, robe, oh my gosh, tree, cat, onion, tattoo, newspaper, pipe, menagerie A menagerie is like, okay, if we forget about the authors things, maybe they I mean, they could be titles, who knows.
Menageries are just like little ornaments, little objects.
So, let's think about that more in the physical context.
Like, they have X.
What do they have? What can I combine that with? A street car.
A street car is like a trolley.
>> [snorts] >> Oh, boy, this is going to be one of those epic solves, but not epic in a good way, huh?
>> [sighs] >> If only I could get a word play out of this, but I'm not sure if that's what's going on here.
And getting green would really help.
Cuz then we could know if we really got it narrowed down to potentially these author {slash} novels.
Pipe, onion, what's going on with onion?
I don't think these are new like magazine titles.
Slippers. Slipper, slip.
>> Darn if only I could get my green um wedding cake Cat maybe we got we probably have you know we have to think about some phrases.
If there's phrases I guess they would go with like Is there somebody who has a tattoo?
a robe Oh no, shoot I don't know guys this is not going to this is not going well at all.
key lime rob Again the newspaper and that tattoo are not bad with like ink but I just don't see anything else with that.
>> Slippers makes you think of Cinderella.
But I I think that's literally the only one that really would go there. I don't remember a cat being associated with that.
>> [snorts] >> You could ding something.
Wedding.
I mean, I really do like streetcar menagerie still. We just can't do wedding and Actually, now I'm starting to forget what I even put. I think slippers.
Oh boy.
Tattoo.
Newspaper, streetcar, key, slippers, onion, cat, menagerie, robe, tree, pipe, wedding.
>> We.
We, me.
Do, re, do, re, me, fa, so, si.
I mean a newspaper and different layers.
Newspaper, onion.
Tree has like layers.
>> [sighs] >> Different layers or you know, sections.
I'm not crazy, but it's the best I can come up with, right? We got to put something in.
Um tattoos doesn't really have layers.
Menagerie, I'm keep thinking of like the glass menagerie.
I mean maybe. I don't think robes inherently have layers or sections.
A cat, a pipe.
A wedding cake maybe.
Slippers, no. Street car, no. A key with different sections or layers, not really.
Try the menagerie. Does that contradict the other category?
Where we did menagerie, street car, no, it wouldn't contradict. Are these things with sections or layers?
So, that's probably completely wrong.
Uh wedding, slippers, robe, and menagerie, just cuz they sort of seem like they go together.
Let me just Will that contradict anything?
Mhm, no, I don't think so, because menagerie and wedding I put with layers.
And yeah, that won't contradict anything.
>> [sighs] >> God darn it, I hate it when you just get, you know, completely um baffled.
What is going on here?
>> slippers tattoo newspaper tree treehouse cathouse Sort of works.
treehouse cathouse But I don't think there's a there's any other houses.
wedding band Wedding band is not bad.
I don't see anything else that works with that. Wedding band um >> [snorts] >> treehouse Did I try treehouse already?
Yeah. Cathouse, but nothing really works.
Mhm.
Uh let's see. An onion makes you cry.
Weddings don't really make you cry. I don't think anything else is going to work.
>> [snorts] >> I mean slipper Oh, hang on.
Oh, hang hang on.
I mean that's not bad. I'm suddenly get the image of like a guy just like a a man in his slippers, robe, newspaper, and pipe.
Um I don't think it contradicts anything. Slippers, robe, pipe, and newspaper. Just like a dude hanging out reading the paper either in the morning or before he goes to bed.
It's the last thing I've got, guys.
Old-timey lounging accessories.
Uh >> [sighs] >> And we still have the streetcar and menagerie, which is crazy.
Um for the potential uh Tennessee Williams things, right?
>> Hm.
Tattoo, tree, onion, key, wedding, cat, menagerie, and streetcar.
Pretty sure we are going to end up with those those novels. I just don't know what the other two are.
Even though I really want those two to go together.
>> tree tattoo parlor I don't think that works.
tree um treehouse >> key bank keynote off-key low-key Wouldn't that be ironic? I always talk about that slang that kids use, low-key.
high-key low-key red onion yellow onion So, you got yellow onions, red onions.
yellow onions, red onions off-key um low-key [clears throat] I don't think they're the start of words.
treeman >> [clears throat] >> Tree, things you can chop.
Cat.
>> [clears throat] >> Tree bark.
>> [sighs] >> Keys have grooves.
Low key, high key, off key.
Wedding band.
Wedding singer.
wedding dance, wedding cake Darn it.
Um.
onion tattoo >> Maybe onion tattoo wedding.
And menagerie.
Could just be um maybe they're just names of magazines. I mean, I don't think I've used those together before, but we got to end the misery, right guys?
Okay.
So, unfortunately, ah, wedding ring. I said wedding band.
Mm, that was painful. And I I had it all along. I just couldn't seal it up just cuz I've haven't read his works and I didn't realize that he had a cat or a tattoo, but at least I got the menagerie and streetcar, but it's not enough to win the game. Hey guys, we did you know, we um we we uh what can I say except um >> [clears throat] >> we failed and um let's just see what happened to the percentage. Should be at 95. No, it's 94.
Cuz I was 19 for 20, but 95% isn't quite enough to still keep it at 95, I guess.
That's very disappointing, but that that one definitely had my number and I just didn't see the ring.
Wed- Why couldn't I just go from wedding band to wedding ring? Onion rings, onion ring key ring. A key ring?
Yeah, that makes sense. Ah, very disappointing, but we'll be bound we'll bounce back tomorrow and um I don't think I'm going to need to win 20 in a row to bring it back up to 95, hopefully, but uh darn it. It just sucks to lose when you have a nice little streak going of 20.
And it's also so annoying when you do have a partial knowledge of the title, but you can't seal it up with the others.
Mm, and purple's unfortunate. I mean, that's not that hard.
All right. Well, here's the good news. I get to make some massive cuts at my discretion in the video so that you don't you don't have to watch a 40-minute video, guys. Believe it or not, that's how long this took. Uh only to fail, huh? Uh share your results, let me know how you did, and we'll look forward to seeing you tomorrow for the next round of connections.
