How you can help prevent flooding during heavy rainAdded:
Quick little reminder, especially with all of the rain we get here in Houston, flooding doesn't just happen. You see, we actually contribute to it. Every time trash gets tossed out on the highway or left behind at the gas station, it can end up in our storm drains. And once those are clogged, well, the water has nowhere to go. So, just a few easy things. Don't litter, secure anything in your truck bed, and if you see debris on the road, dial 311 and report the location. I know it sounds small, but it actually makes a pretty big difference.
