Warmer Weather Coming + Low End Severe Chance Tomorrow

And there is warmth on the horizon with some severe chances sprinkled in there as early as tomorrow for your Tuesday evening. Let's go ahead and talk about today's forecast. Before we dive head first right into it, let's hear from Chandler with today's sponsor.

[00:01:02]Appreciate that, Chandler. As always, let's talk about today's forecasted high temps here on Monday, May 11th. We're going to be quite cool out there. 50s and 60s is your going rate for a majority of south and central Michigan.

[00:01:16]Up for the north as well in the thumb region, we're going to be in the upper upper 40s, low 50s, unless you're by the lake heron area in both the thumb and upper peninsula as well as the northeast corner there of the northern lower part where you could be in the 40s for your highs today. Tuesday, a little bit of a repeat, but definitely warmer further south. We're going to go into the 70s across South Michigan there. Otherwise, 40s, 50s, and 60s depending on where you're at here in the state of Michigan.

[00:01:43]Marquette 53 for tomorrow. Gaylord at 46 or so, Port Austin at 50, Lancing 69 degrees, Ann Arbor at 63, Adrian at 70, and Kalamazoo at 73.

[00:01:57]We have a severe threat on tap for tomorrow potentially for south and western corners of the state. The good news is I'm not seeing too much in the way that supports the chance of anything big happening, but there is some subtle subtle signs. we'll call them signs, subtle signs that do show potential for a stronger storm or two. The SPC has a marginal risk out for Barryian County.

[00:02:22]Otherwise, much of the state in a light green color indicating general thunderstorms are possible. Tomorrow's radar as well as today's radar, we're dry primarily for the day today. So, enjoy a nice dry day out there. Tuesday overnight into Tuesday morning, we have some rain showers working their way into the western UP that slowly works its way across Lake Michigan and finally reaches the lower peninsula by around that late morning, early afternoon time frame for tomorrow, which is Tuesday, 1:00 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m. Just light to moderate rain showers going on here at this current time. The bad or the good news is there's nothing really major popping up here stormwise. But we go to the evening hours, 8:00 p.m. here, 9:00 p.m. We have a little bit more in the way of perhaps some larger cores on these storms that pop up. But overall, the severe risk appears to be quite low in nature tomorrow. And it should be a pred predominantly uh rain with some embedded thunderstorms possible across much of the state today. Uh again, not seeing too much here that supports severe weather here on this model. We do have to watch the wind as well, though. The winds are going to gust with this rain on the higher end of 30 mph or so. Not too bad, but also it's not going to be calm out there by any means. Uh some areas up in the up to start Tuesday, as well as northwest lower could be gusting closer to 40 or 45 miles per hour through this time frame. So, it's going to be gusty tomorrow for sure. And that will have to be something to watch as well outside of any rain or thunderstorms. The instability tomorrow is the limiting factor with things.

[00:03:48]Looking into Tuesday evening, we're going to see roughly between one to about 200 jewels or so. Close to that Tuesday night, Wednesday morning time frame. We're not seeing an abundance of this. You want to see close to 500, if not over 500 for severe weather. We're seeing not even close to that. So, the good news is tomorrow's risk appears to be quite low in nature. And then finishing up the video here, warm weather continues to be shown the horizon. We're going to be cool next five or so days, but the weekend, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, upper 70s, low 80s for South Michigan. Widespread upper 60s and low 70s for the state of Michigan. that continues. A little bit of drop off there to start next week, but we do climb right back into the 70s and 80s. So, the warmer pattern is locked in. I do think we're close on planting your gardens very soon. With that said, enjoy the rest of your day. I am Ryan signing off.
