[00:00:00]And whenever the elements got hard, whenever it was just like I was exhausted or some shot just something was too heavy on my back or like I was tripping over the rocks or a bomb was exploding too close and kind of like disorienting us. I just thought about the real guys the whole time. And what is so remarkable as well to me, I always thought about these were not professional soldiers who went and did this. That's hard enough.

[00:00:31]These were painters and electricians and plumbers and just like normal dads and people. You know, my grandfather, you know, he owned a deli in Pikipsy and they were go when they they were asked to go and do the most challenging and impossible things um for as long as they had to. as well as dealing with an enemy that never surrendered, as well as dealing with disease and the elements.

[00:01:04]The war in the Pacific was another beast altogether. Um, and so that was the long winded way of saying yes, I have such a profound respect for what that generation did for us and I keep it in my mind every day to this day.
