The Abraham Accords and the Iran-US peace process are separate diplomatic issues that should not be linked; the Abraham Accords require Israel to accept UN resolutions and recognize a Palestinian state, while the Iran-US peace process should focus solely on achieving durable regional peace without external political conditions.

Donald Trump Must Separate Iran Talks from Abraham Accords: Security AnalystAdded:
Rahim hello and welcome to program insight in V news. Dear viewers, most important development of today's statement by US President Donald Trump on Ibrahim Accord and he has urged Middle Eastern countries, I mean the Muslim countries to immediately sign this Abraham Accord and uh the US president gave a justification that once Abraham Accord is signed, Middle East will be more stronger, more prosperous and economically stable. In today's conversation, we would like to analyze that what prompted US president to uh make an announcement about Abraham Accord and US president also called upon Iran that if Iran signs this Abraham Accord, it will be a very good thing. So at a time when uh peace deal between Iran and United States of America is still in progress. What is the reason for highlighting Ibrahim? At a time when number of countries around the Muslim world have not signed this to discuss this all and all associated related issues, we are fortunate to have with us senior strategic affairs analyst Dr. Sayy Muhammad Ali Sab. Dr. Muhammad Ali Sab although there are so many developments taking place a Pakistani leadership is in Beijing and just two days before Pakistan's field marshall was in Thran things were progressing well all of a sudden this statement by US President Donell Trump urging the Muslim countries to sign Ibraham Accord.
What does this mean?
>> Uh thank you for having me on your show Medin Sab. I think there are two possible uh reasons why uh President Trump brought up uh Abraham Accord at this point in time. I think uh if we look uh carefully and uh critically at the entire peace process which is being steered by Pakistan patiently and carefully uh despite a lot of uh spoilers u uh in Iran and US there are three power centers and they give three different signals to three different constituencies. The first and most important u is the political leadership whether it is the Iranian um ideological leadership or the Iranian president. And on the other side we have President Trump uh who give mixed signals of hope and confidence to their nation and threat um to the other side. Whereas when we look at the diplomatic uh leadership of US led by Marco Rubio, they give positive reconciliatory signals. Uh and the evidence was the tweet in the morning and the statement he made in India that uh there could be a deal which could be signed as early as Monday and he was hopeful of uh the deal being signed as early as possible.
Similarly, the Iranian foreign minister also is making very positive overtures uh which is enabling this process to proceed further. But when you look at the military leadership whether it is the Iranian uh IRGC leadership or whether it is the US Pentagon leadership particularly Mr. Pete Hexet although they give signals which represent confidence and power uh both aimed at assuring their nation and motivating their armed forces uh but also calculated threats to the other side. So we should see these uh statements and narratives and tweets in this uh context. But why Mr. Trump has uh mentioned Abraham Accord and linking it with uh the current US Iran peace process. I think there are two possible reasons. M number one uh whenever there is some significant progress for which I must recognize and appreciate Field Marshall Aimuner for making two uh successful visits to Thran in the conflict zone and his efforts were appreciated not just by Mr. Trump by Irani leadership by the Arab world as well. Everybody wants this peace uh to be durable and lasting.
But whenever m president President Trump talks to uh Benjamin Netanyahu, it seems that pres uh this President Trump uh is faced with lot of pressure from Benjamin Netanyahu because he's very angry and upset with the diplomatic progress uh of this peace process because uh when we look at the objectives of this war from the US and Israeli side, their objectives are different. Israel wants a complete destruction of Iran uh and in their armed forces and complete elimination of their political leadership and their nuclear program which obviously this war has not achieved. So he is frustrated and they and Israeli leadership is trying to use and pressurize uh Donald Trump into having a more aggressive approach towards uh uh Iran. So any peace with Iran uh means that uh it will have serious uh challenges for the political future of uh Benjamin Netanyahu. So he does not want this peace deal on US and Iranian terms. Therefore he raises the bar and demand and raises the de uh um bar and complicates this process frequently. And this is not the first time. The second aspect is the influence of the Israeli lobby in the US on White House. If you look at the tweet by Senator Lindsey Graham, he is the one who yesterday tweeted about uh Muslim countries and Arab countries joining Abraham Accord as part of this peace deal. And today President Trump has said exactly what uh Lindsey Graham suggested yesterday. So it is unfortunate that the Israeli lobby is trying to sabotage this process. But it is very important that these two issues must be clearly and uh completely delire has to last. If there has to be durable peace in the Middle East, if the demands are to be acceptable by the Muslim, Arab uh and Iranian leadership, then it should not be colored by the US expectation and Israeli demand for uh joining the Abrahamic Accord. These are two completely separate issues.
>> Dr. Mohamadis the position of Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and number of other countries is quite clear in the past.
They are not signary and they are very strong reservations what you mentioned the Israeli atrocities rather ongoing atrocities and repression again innocent people of Palestine. So at this point in time by creating a new issue a new condition Abraham and as you said briefly that it may complicate the peace process but but overall what do you think uh US president also said that he is directing his representative to immediately reach out to number of countries but what do you think what will be the impact of this his call and demand on overall this peace process and on the Muslim world as I think if this peace process which is very carefully, very responsibly and very tactfully steered by Pakistan and Field Marshall Asimon in particular, if it has to succeed and lead to durable peace and enduring ceasefire in the Middle East, then it is very important that uh uh any irrelevant issue uh which could spoil this peace process should not be uh brought on the table and any fresh demands could harm the progress so far uh made with lot of effort, patience um uh in the diplomacy which Pakistan has led so far. So it is very important that it should be this current peace process should be protected. it should be excluded and secured from any attempts to spoil it. And I see uh this uh raising of uh Abraham Accord as a demand uh could be harmful for this peace process. And I urge President Trump that uh he should uh uh focus on enduring peace um in the current diplomatic process and not allow uh the Israeli lobby to sabotage or spoil the current achievements.
Secondly, uh let me explain that uh Mr. Netanyahu fears that if this peace is achieved, if uh there is enduring ceasefire, then Israel could be isolated in this region because uh it was identified, it clearly emerged as the spoiler of peace in this region based on its hgemonic and expansionist agenda uh and and threat to number of countries not just Iran.
Israel has a history of attacking number of countries. Be it Lebanon, be it be it Iraq, be it Syria, uh be it Yemen, uh be it uh uh Iran. Uh so I think uh uh this conflict has geopolitically created more problems and could lead to greater isolation of uh Israel. And uh there are three things which makes Abraham Accord in the foreseeable future very difficult and unlikely. Number one, >> uh the Muslim world in uh general, the entire lawabiding uh developed and developing countries and the Arab world in particular uh cannot ignore the massacre carried out of thousands of people in the Gaza by Israeli armed forces. They cannot forget that.
Secondly, uh Iran has been victim of uh aggression from Israel twice in the last one year.
Uh thirdly, uh when uh the Muslim and the Arab countries were facing uh retaliation from Iran, the US security commitment was far greater towards protecting Israel than the Arab countries. Now this has also created um a sense of uh doubt and insecurity in the number of uh Arab countries. And fourth and foremost, the recent uh uh recognition and establishment of Israeli embassy in the newly founded uh Somali land has really angered uh Arab and Muslim countries particularly Saudi Arabia and Pakistan because uh Israel is developing and cultivating Somali land as a proxy state which will have many Israeli military bases which will be used to carry out further attacks against uh regional Arab and Muslim countries. So that is a threat >> uh which uh uh the Muslim countries and the Arab countries cannot ignore. That is why its creation and uh and Israeli support is being condemned by Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and number of countries. So that is very important that these are the developments which makes it and lastly the street sentiment the public sentiment of the Muslim world of the Arab countries is very anti-Israel based on its hgemonic aggressive uh policies and interventionist policy. It does not stand for any international law. It does not recognize the UN resolutions on Palestine. It continues to expand and occupied territories. It continues to carry out attacks on its neighboring countries. So these are the is this irresponsible and destabilizing behavior makes it unlikely for any Muslim and Arab countries to recognize Israel and and accept and be become part of Abrahamic God till uh the time that Israel reviews its policies and uh uh accepts the UN resolutions and UN charter which forms the basis of creation of an independent sovereign and contiguous Palestinian state based on pre967 border and uh al- Kusal Sharif as its permanent capital that is Pakistan's longstanding consistent policy and stance and uh I think it is very important for the success of the current peace process led and steered by Pakistan uh to bring durable peace between uh uh Iran and US that Abraham Accord and any other issue which is irrelevant must not be uh brought on the table and these two issues should be completely uh separated.
>> Dr. you nicely elaborated. So as you number of time mentioned Pakistan's facilitation mediation and field marshall traveled all the way field martial arts to Iran number of times Mosen with India minister also a number of times so far we have seen appreciation by the US president. He has not ma made any sarcastic remark. Now coming to uh this Iraham Accord. So of course Pakistan is also part of the Muslim world. Pakistan may not take any alone decision.
Pakistan has to go along with the Muslim countries and Saudi Arabia is a leading country. So what do you think? Uh there has to be an emergency meeting of OIC because Muslim countries take up discuss and take decisions from the platform of organization of Islamic countries because it is an emerging uh issue. Now this Abraham Accord peace in the entire Middle East is at stake and US president as according to his tweet has made things conditional. So what do you think decision will have to be made at platform of OIC of which Pakistan is also part of it.
>> I think there are two things which are very important. My first recommendation and advice to President Trump should be that uh he should avoid um any expectation or changing of uh uh the agenda uh or framework beyond uh US uh Iran peace process uh which should recognize, protect and acknowledge the progress ress made so far >> and not allow any other issue to spoil or affect the progress made so painstakingly so uh despite the complexity and delicate nature of this peace process and it should not be linked with any other issue when it comes to the Abraham Accord. Uh a sincere and wise advice to President Trump would be that if and when he signs and agrees and implements a peace deal with Iran >> h which leads to durable peace and stability then only then the Muslim world, the international community and the Arab world can devote put its attention and focus towards uh durable solution of another longstanding um issue which is the Palestinian issue and the Abraham Accord should be seen in the context of the future of uh Palestine uh which is the one of the longest outstanding issues on the agenda of the UN security council.
along with the dispute of Jammu and Kashmir. And I would advise President Trump that once he amicably and uh adequately uh resolves the current conflict with Iran and achieves durable peace, then he will achie gain the trust and confidence of the Muslim and Arab world which he can use to also uh focus towards the resolution of the Kashmir issue which he wants to do uh despite uh Prime Minister Modi's uh shenanigans uh and also move towards uh finding a peaceful uh solution of the uh long-standing issue of Palestine and once these two issues are resolved and negotiated on the basis of UN charter international law uh human rights and UN Security Council resolutions, then uh only then the Muslim world and the Arab world uh will gain the confidence and the Muslim and the Arab uh street sentiment will also uh gain the confidence that the US is committed to the peaceful resolution of these issues. only then Abraham Accord could be realistically discussed before uh the Iran US conflict can be formally and completely um concluded in the form of durable peace. uh once Kashmir and Palestine issues are resolved only then the uh conscience of the uh peace-loving world the Muslim world and the Arab world uh can consider it before that I think it is a very premature expectation look even if as I said US president is directing his team to reach out to the Muslim countries it's a new development and hypothetically if it is sign if It is recognized by the Muslim countries as US president has very strong ties with the Gulf countries all across from Saudi Arabia, Bin, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and these all countries and also with the Jordan and Pakistan US relations are witnessing one of the warmest time. So what do you think after even if it is s signed and Muslim countries does sign it how is the guarantee that Israel will uh not attack in future any of the Muslim country it will not carry out aggression against Palestine as you recently in the past you mentioned that Israel's history is that it has been attacking number of countries any time or any pretext >> this is an unfortunate historical tragedy that Israel uh since its uh creation has uh violated all international laws uh UN charter and has not adhere or respected human rights.
>> Uh therefore uh there are two hopes that uh will hopefully lead to a durable peace and stability in the Middle East.
>> One that uh once the ceasefire is achieved >> Mhm. uh there is already uh discussions high level discussions between Pakistan, Arab brothers uh Iran of uh shaping a security architecture which can prevent further aggression, conflict and instability and I'm hopeful once this war ends there'll be a more enduring and stable Middle East based on the current reality. ities which have been identified and recognized during these conflicts. Secondly, uh you are aware that Pakistan has entered into a joint defense agreement with Saudi Arabia >> which clearly identifies uh any attack on either country as an attack on both countries. So today Pakistan is uh committed to the protection and defense of the sovereignty, security and territorial integrity of Saudi Arabia.
Uh so I think that is a legal, moral, diplomatic and military obligation on Pakistan towards Saudi Arabia which I think Israel or any other country must and cannot ignore and I think that is the guarantee of peace.
>> That is the guarantee of peace. But uh how you see uh recently once again the US president uh in his tweet also mentioned that he spoke with Field Marshall and he said this peace process is progressing well. My last question is uh what are your thoughts uh that peace process is progressing well but still certain things certain uh elements or aspects of this this peace process is still hidden. Although the field marshal who returned from Thran uh he had given final touches as mentioned by the US president. So what is the next finalist?
What is the next uh if there is an initial agreement on NMOU memorandum of understanding for peace? So when finally things would be uh finalized and given final touches. I think uh there has been careful incremental and gradual progress uh in the peace process steered and led by Pakistan and particularly Field Marshall Asimir.
However, there are a lot of spoilers in the region and beyond who do not want Pakistan to lead it, who do not want this process to con uh conclude peacefully. And that is why it is very important for both Iran and US to focus on the gains made so far and uh isolate this process from any attempt to spoil uh sabotage or distract it and uh hopefully uh with wisdom, care and responsibility it can be eventually lead to a durable peace in the region. But it is very important that uh u you know the attempts by Israel, the attempts by India or attempts by any uh must be uh defeated if this peace process has to succeed because if uh u every time there is progress and uh Mr. Trump keeps on asking or listening to Benjamin Netanyahu for his advice, who continues to raise new demands and new expectations, then this is going to be a never- ending process. He needs to focus on durable peace. Uh if that is the objective, I think Pakistan uh the entire world, the entire international community, the Arabs, the Muslims will support him. But if uh Mr. Netanyahu continues to spoil the process through new demands and new expectations, then Mr. Trump should see through Mr. Netanyahu's attempt to spoil this effort.
>> Thank you so much indeed Dr. Sayyad Muhammad Aarisab, Senior Strategic Affairs for critically examining and analyzing this new development. The statement made by US President Donald Trump on Ibraham Accord urging the Muslim countries to immediately sign Abraham Accord and linked it with the peace current peace process. Thank you so much once again for uh your strategically important thoughts on this one of the most important uh issue and dear viewers till the next program.
Goodbye and kuda.
