Reducing Goya’s haunting masterpieces to a mere real estate scam based on property deeds is a provocative but reductive piece of revisionism. It prioritizes a "gotcha" historical detail over the raw, inimitable psychological depth of the work itself.

The truth behind Goya’s legendary painting!Añadido:
This is the famous painting Saturn devouring his son by Goya. But the mysteries attached to this painting are eerier than the painting itself. Goya wasn't the only artist to paint this depiction. Peter Paul Rubin's also painted one seen here. Oh yeah, but back to the other. Goya never actually named any of his paintings. So the title Saturn devouring his son is just actually how it's cataloged by art historians. But the wildest thing about this painting is that it was one of Goya's black paintings. The black paintings weren't actually ever on canvas originally. They were painted on the walls of his house and discovered after his death. But this is where it gets really weird. He often had friends over, but nobody remembers seeing them while he was alive, which makes no sense cuz they were huge paintings and dark paintings which Goya wasn't necessarily known for. I mean, there's rumors that these aren't even his own. The house was left to his grandson, Mariano. And over a hundred years later, they found a deed. And the deed describes a one-story house. But the paintings were discovered on the top level of the house. So, how did he do that on a story that didn't exist while he was alive? The theory is that Mariano was in need of cash, so he passed it off as his grandfather's work to sell the house for more money. The new owner hacked them off the wall, transferred them to canvas, and you can now see them at the Muse delpra in Madrid.
