A fuel sending unit works by changing electrical resistance as its internal arm moves along a resistance track, which the vehicle's fuel gauge interprets as fuel level; when diagnosing issues, technicians use a multimeter to measure resistance at different points in the circuit, checking for continuity and resistance changes to identify whether the problem lies with the sending unit itself, the signal wire, or the gauge connections.

Yeah.
Uh, you right. Yep.
Sure. This uh right here.
There we go. And I heard it. Get take it out of your hand. Yeah. Don't um dup but Oh, that's fine.
Oh, that's elbow juice. Hey, elbow juice. I was wondering what happened, man. I kept looking looking at my email wonder wondering where you were. So, um like I was telling you the other night, dude, I think that it might be a uh it could be a compressor or something. Uh, but send me that email, dude, so I can go ahead and uh uh you walk through what I think it is. Uh, we don't have a lot of time tonight, so we're gonna try to, you know, run through a couple things here. Uh, all right. Working on the Winnipeg. Go again. We got a goal here, guys. Trying to raise some money. Goal.
Super chat. Goal. There we go.
Uh, goal. 10 gifts. What's this?
I don't think that's it.
Super chat.
Um, so we're trying to get What's going on, guys? Working on the uh I don't know where Mark's going. He's walking off camera. You know, got >> guess he wasn't happy with his contract making dollars. So, I don't know what I'm going to do about that. Uh, all right. So, we might have an hour at the most. Uh so um uh so we're calling this the Griffo and I'm invite you to be part of the Griffago resurrection. Um, uh, so I'm not exactly sure what this means.
Uh, so goal amount. Uh, trying to, uh, yeah, 10 super chats. Um, so I'd like to try I would like to try and raise, you know, 100 bucks tonight if we could. It's going to go towards new ignition system for the Griffo and a lot of other new stuff that it's going to need, especially tires. I'm going to order those tonight. It's going to cost me about 900 bucks and that's going to be u for seven. So that'll include a spare. Uh, and you guys and the ones that are on here are rough. So, as I said before, whenever you guys donate to the channel, I reinvest it in the channel. And uh look, it's just a matter of time before I may be rolling in the Griffo into a town near you. The Griffo is coming to a town near you. Uh so, uh start gold.
All right. So, check it out. Uh I guess we'll use the uh we'll use the uh AI thing going here. Boop. And checking us out. All right, we're going to We got the sending unit. We had it sitting over here in some solution to kind of break it free. I say break it free, I mean it's just seen better days. So, check it out, guys.
So, there's our sending unit. Now, look, the arm moves good, but our resistance didn't change when we tested it. So, here's what that means.
When this goes when it does that, when it change when you move it up and down, it should change the the ohms, you know, the the resistance. All right, I'll show you what that means here in a second.
Let me show you guys that now. And then you'll see what we're going to do to try and get it to have some resistance because I'm trying to avoid sending this out to get it fixed. Uh, so we'll do it right here.
my assistant Marcus here. Let me spin this around so you guys can uh see my see my lovely assistant Marcus.
Mark.
So, let's go ahead and spin this this way. Yeah, Mark's got his hands in his pockets. Sorry. There he is. Say hi, Mark.
>> Hi, Mark.
>> There's Mark. He's They wrote that song, Simple Man, about Mark.
>> Right. There's our big bag grip of baggo. Oh, yeah. Maybe coming to a town near you.
All right. So, um, it should be fine. Well, I guess we'll see if it'll track. Okay.
Oh, and we got this cool lighting thing.
So, it's just like boop. Kind of brightens everything up a little bit.
Oh, yeah. Look at that. Boop. Boop.
Boop. Boop. Change some fonts there. All right. Cool. All right. So, uh, let's grab the, uh, let's grab the super special Grips Garage Edition Snap-on multimeter complete with one year of Netflix.
So, when you're, you know, doing your meter, you can like watch a show at the same time. I made that up, guys. It doesn't have Netflix on it.
>> I was going to say mine don't.
>> Yeah, we bought them at the same time, didn't we?
>> I think so.
>> Yeah. All right. So, see if we can respond to chats here.
They want they want you to walk them through this one. So, go ahead, Mark.
>> Yeah. Come on, Mark.
>> Tell them what we're doing.
>> Not my show. We're going to run homes.
>> Tell them what we're doing. So, what are we going to do first, Mark?
How we set this up?
>> Turn on the ohms.
>> That's right. Boop. That's the horseshoe right here.
>> Yep. And hook it up to the leads.
>> That's right. So, this is a super simple setup, guys. This just says it gets power. All right. U it gets power and then it sends a u has a signal coming from does it come from the sender or is the power comes into here and then runs out to ground? Yeah. Yeah. Because it runs up to the sender.
>> This your signal wire.
>> Yeah. So So you got this signal wire that goes up to the actual gauge. All right. This wire here, you ground. Well, it goes to ground. You guessed it.
So, with this hooked up, you can see we have what? Wow. Wow. That changed quite a bit.
>> A lot.
>> Yeah, cuz we were at 80 ohms earlier.
So, now Joe, Mark, what happens?
>> It didn't change.
>> Not much at all. So before this said 80 ohms or like 88.
As this gets moved, it should show a different reading. It it should change.
And that's how your gas gauge changes.
So let's see if we get a better reading.
Let me see what happens if let's just do it right here.
Make sure I'm rubbing it to make sure we get a good contact on here.
>> Yeah, that's what they all say. That's not bad. Now, >> hold on. Oh, wait. I'm sorry. I'm on the wrong thing.
>> Of course.
>> Wrong wrong hole.
>> Uh, it's PG-13 humor.
>> This is a familyfriendly show. All right. So, all right. Check it out.
Number 87 here.
So, coming right through here. That's interesting. So guys, what does it do there if you move it?
The radians hardly change, but it had a much higher It had a much higher ohms resistance here.
Maybe it's back to 86. Move it around.
See what happens.
Yeah, that should change. So, this should go from I've already been saying let's say 80 to 120 ideally. Um, now we did have a large resistance just in the signal cable itself right here. And this is a straight shot.
That's down to four ohms now.
Hold on.
>> So, what we're doing is we're breaking down each part of the system. Say, "All right, let's see if we have, you know, what our readings are from this section.
What is it at this section and see if we've got a section that is problematic?"
That's only two now.
Well, we shouldn't see any change on this one here. Oh, >> an open spot.
>> Oh, yeah.
But hold on. It we shouldn't have anything on.
This will be interesting. Check it here.
So, what do we have here? Go ahead and move it around.
Nothing. Dang.
Oh, check it out, Mark. I got this one here.
Wow, comparison. I like that.
>> So, check it out, guys. This one here, this is a good fuel pump. Hasn't been used.
And now, this has a pump and ascending unit. So, this fuel pump module assembly is what they would, you know, say.
This one's for like my car, right?
Is that one that we got for you, but it wasn't correct? Is that right? I think so. I don't know.
It's mine don't have a pressure sensor on it.
>> Yeah. So, so, so right here guys, this is what your level sensor would go into.
What we can do is we'll show you what a known good one works looks like. And so now I'm right now I'm starting to think what if I go and take part of this assembly, modify it to work with that.
You know what I'm saying? Because it's the same principle, >> right? Still ohms.
>> Yep. So all we're checking is resistance.
Um which one is it? Purple and purple.
Purple and purple and black. I would think.
>> Yeah. I was just going to hook it up up here.
Yeah. The purple and purple is what what's going across here. So, you know, for the for these leads, >> right? I raised that.
>> Yeah. So, so I'm trying to figure out which which pins here line up with these pins here.
I don't know. What you could do is go ahead and just pick a pin and say, "Hey, this is how you can find, you know, your continuity in a wire." This is a great example.
>> So, >> I got a plugin for that.
>> A plugin for what?
>> Oh, yeah. The plug. Oh, you know what? I think I Well, it's all right. We can get it right in there.
>> So, so look, I want to find out, hey, this wire here, which pin does it go to up here so I can do this test. So, I'm just going to grab I went ahead and just said, "Hey, is it you know this one here?" I put my meter on ohms and I'm going to put it on the motor has a little speaker down here. See, is that it? Oh, it beeped real loud. I know that this wire here goes to that pin here. It doesn't go to this pin next to it. And you can prove that by sticking it on there and checking.
Oh, it's not beeping. I don't have any continuity. It's not the same wire. So once again, we know that this section here, this exposed area here of the wire, this wire goes to that pin because when we have our meter on ohms and we touch it, and what do we have there?
That's a lot. That seems really high.
That's really high. Um, and let's go ahead and check. Hey, which one does this go to? I don't know. Let's go ahead and see if maybe it's this one.
Nope, it's not that one. Didn't beep.
Oh, it's that one.
Ah, one and three.
>> Yeah.
Okay. So, guys, it beeped both ways. So, which one is the straight shot? Well, look at the amount of resistance. B, hold that up to the camera so they can see it. So, check it out.
That's beeping right now, showing it's a complete circuit. But look, it's 38 ohms. Almost 40. A straight wire should be like 0.5. We'll check this one next to it. What do we have? Oh, one something. So, this wire goes to that terminal right there.
Now, why is it still beeping? because there's resistance across it and that's what we're going to measure. So, we're gonna go ahead and check that one, too.
You see it beeping? Show the camera. And now we should get a change major. And you can see how this changes.
So, yeah, it's connected, but how much resistance is in it?
So I hope that makes sense for how we can identify you know you know which wire goes to which pin and when it gets confusing we'll look and see how much you know resistances between it because look this is a complete circuit but it's 248 ohms man. So, that being said, it's probably possible to take this this uh this setup here and install it right here. Of course, it's, you know, quite a bit of work. I want to see if we're going to open this up and see how bad it looks. You know, we can see right here, you know, this is nice and clean. Let's go ahead and see what the inside of this looks like. because we know it's it's complete. It's a complete circuit, but it's not it's not changing like it should when we move it back and forth like this one did. So, our gas gauge would always read in the same spot, and that's that's not going to do you any good.
Uh, >> oh, don't be like that.
Yeah. So, uh, one love. What's up, dude?
Uh, so guys, like I said, trying to made his money for it. And the reason, remember, this is just a sending unit. I couldn't find I looked, I didn't see this exact sending unit. So, see if we can find either a repair kit or see if we can make this work. U, there is a company called uh Bob's Speedometers. And yeah, we could send it to him. I just man I I'd really like to just get it on the road as soon as possible. So um I don't think we're actually going to try to make this work in here. But let's open this up real quick and just see how bad it looks cuz maybe just Hey Mark, there's a plug in here anyways.
>> Oh, okay.
>> Uh but maybe just maybe we can um maybe just maybe we'll be able to salvage this ourselves.
So let's take a look. You know, get a little electrical cleaner in there, right, Mark? Yep.
And then uh Oh. Oh, you stay right here, Mark. I ain't going to get you.
Anyways, uh so the you know the more and more I think about it and the more stuff I see it just it becomes more and more evident that you know we are you know that politics is just theater and that you know we really are the little guy and the powers that be are going to do whatever they want. And so, let me give an example to you.
uh earlier today uh came across a video guy was talking about the uh how they've changed refrigerants from you know the original R12 and and that whenever the patent comes off it just so happens that whenever the patent comes off they say oh this is terrible for the ozone we have to get rid of this why the camera just moved over there.
Why don't you come on back? Yep. Be a team player. There we go. So, uh, and apparently it's, uh, uh, it's the guy in the video, he had showed that, hey, look, the next time this is going to happen is 2036. Now, my understanding is that in 2030 everything is going to go sideways anyways, but and I'm not I'm not trying to just be like a conspiracy theorist here. I just I look at everything through the lens of, you know, bluecollar diagnostic technician. How does this work? What's happening? And we just look at, you know, how does it work? What's happening? Um, uh, where we go here?
I want to see if I can show you guys what uh uh man trying to see how I can see my uh previous watched things so I could give you guys a link. Oh, here's history.
Great. Uh here it is. It's called They Banned It uh to sell you new here. Uh they will keep banning your refrigerant.
Yeah, it was this one. This was great.
I'm going to put I'm going to put a link to this in the description, but this guy was uh this was awesome. He showed that, you know, it's whenever, you know, whenever the patent comes off and they can't make more money and, you know, somebody else will just get a hold of it and start re redistributing it. Oh, it's bad for the ozone.
And and here's the best part, right?
They already have the replacement by the same company already have it ready to go. I mean, you just got Yeah. Yeah, I wonder really. I mean, come on. I It's that that goes right back to the you know uh you creating a problem because you have a solution and somehow you know the rich keep getting richer and and it's almost like engineered to keep the poor people poor. You know, think about it. You have to do emissions in some states, >> right? So, you have to do emissions and say you're single f you know you know single family income like myself and you oh I want to put the uh link in there but so let's say you know single family income and you you need a your car won't pass emissions because it's setting a catalytic converter code and you need catalytic converters and you live in let's say you live in >> Denver.
>> You live in Denver. Yeah. Well, Denver is carb compliant. C A RB. What's carb compliant? Well, that means your catalytic converter has to have a imprinted stamp on it, like embossed, that says C AB. Here's the catch. What makes a carb compliant catalytic converter better than a non-carb compliant? Well, apparently they last longer. That's what they say.
Now, I looked into the manufacturing process of this and I couldn't find any differences. I didn't look real hard. It was it was a brief look, but one of the things I saw was that they said the carb compliant catalytic converters last longer. That's interesting because you can go on PartsGeek or Rock Auto right now and they have catalytic converters with a lifetime guarantee that are just federally mandated. You you federally approved. So why can't we use that instead of a carb one? Well, right back to single family income. Family needs a uh family needs their their vehicle registered. They can only get the waiver one time and then they have to get it fixed, which they can't afford to do or not drive. So, well, here's the solution.
This dealership up the street just happens to have a no money down, you know, buy here, pay here, and uh any, you know, bad credit, who said it, walk in, drive out, would you buy a car from this man? Only if you had to, right?
>> Approach. And well, guess who happens to have stock in that dealership? I don't know, maybe your local politician, your local city council person. And guess what? They're also having stock in local Wells Fargo or Bank of America >> that that bank that that dealership is getting the loans through. So what happens? person that can't afford to get their car fixed goes and gets a vehicle from the dealership that they're going to be upside down on for the rest of their life. They'll never be able to get out of it and it's a vicious cycle.
So, what what's the deal? I don't know.
I'm just I'm just some >> Yeah, I'm just I'm just talking >> just just some some tattoo mechanic. Uh, all right. So, let me go ahead and share this to you guys so you can see this.
And uh this is just this is just one example, guys. Uh you guys got to you guys you guys are smart guys. This is why you tune in to Griffilla Garage. You guys can think for yourselves. I don't know why this thing's over here. Come on. Come on.
Back. Let's go. Yep. Come on. There. No, don't do that. Don't be like that. Come on.
>> R2.
Oh, come on. Oh, there. You almost had it. We'll move this. We'll we'll we'll come to you. Um, so let me post this to you guys. You guys check it out and uh yo, just think about that. What What the hell's going with this thing? No, don't me send you back, too, man.
So, all right. Call it a gimble for a reason because it wants to be gimpy sometimes, right?
All right. So, anyways, that's a that's just thing. What's up with that, man?
It's all trying to keep you down. U Why won't it let me uh I'm trying to Oh. Oh, there we go. And uh paste and uh send. All right. There we go. All right.
Cool. Uh let's go ahead and open this thing up like we were like we were talking about before I got sidetracked.
All right. Oh, here we go. Mark, let's >> Wow, that's an >> Look at that design.
>> Wow.
>> It just made it smaller.
>> Well, look here. Here it is. Rides right along here.
>> I know.
That is the weirdest thing I ever seen in my life. So, guys, it's pretty cool.
There's a little strip in here that this just kind of rides along and the resistance, you can see how it's, you know, it gets thicker. Mhm. This is kind of neat. Check this out. Look at this, guys. It's pretty cool.
So, right there, that's what that that arm reads against.
Uh, >> so that's what you know >> this arm here reads against as it rotates around. Wow. Huh.
So, let's just go ahead and see real quick what does Okay, that's a straight shot.
>> Yep.
>> Now, >> okay. So, here's what we're gonna do.
I'm gonna clip this on here.
And this should change as we rotate it along here. It's open right there.
>> 67.
>> There we go.
>> That's reading.
>> Yeah.
>> So, hold that up so they can see it, buddy.
So, guys, check it out. Look.
>> Open. Yep. We get a good contact iron.
Almost nothing. And then as it comes along here, oops, hold on.
>> Oop, sorry, I was off it. Here we go.
>> That part's working.
>> Okay, so look, this is this is good. So, but why wasn't it it was staying the same? It was staying right down here at the uh at that area. So, why?
Let's find out. Let's Let's clean this up and uh and see if we get a uh and see if we can get a better reading out of this, guys. It'd be great, man. Look, save. I don't know what it's going to cost if I have to ship it out, but I bet it's going to be more than $100.
What do you think, Mark?
>> All right, I believe it. Little electronics cleaner.
Uh let me try to keep up with these now.
Why is it all grayed out? That's weird.
There we go. Thanks, Bobo Monkey. Hey, appreciate that, dude. See, I told you guys, man. You guys like Johnny Rocket, Jay the man, you guys been hanging in there with me. Tyson, what's up, Tyson?
How you doing, dude? Um, Tyson, I don't know if you heard it, dude, but the other day, it was Friday, and I said to my new guy, Jason, I was like, Jason, I was like, do you ever know any tweakers?
He's like, I used to be one. I was like, man, I can't make that up, dude.
>> Right.
>> So, anyway, so yeah, we're doing a little fuel pump action. And what we're do is we're going to clean up we're just going to clean up the contacts because this is it's it's simple, guys. For electricity to work, what do you need?
>> Contacts and power and ground. So those power and grounds got to communicate through good contacts. So electronics cleaner.
Oh, here we go. Little scooch scooch scotchbrite.
And go ahead and get in here.
Oh, look at that, man. You see that?
Yep. That cleaned up nice, dude. I'm put this over so they can see it. Um, >> um, hold on. Let me move this a little bit.
>> So guys, check this out right here.
sprayed this some cleaner in here. And then >> this is the the uh >> Yeah. Oh yeah. Right here. This this is where it gains res, you know, gets higher and lower resistance. So we're cleaning that up so that it can, you know, communicate clearly. So boop boop boop. You know what? We'll take this lead off of here and clean that up real nice. So, let's do that. Mark, man, I'll tell you what, we do it all on this channel, man. We cover it all. We do We could do politics, relationships.
Well, what else you want to do?
Um, >> car talk. We talk about cars. Yeah, we know a little something about that, right?
>> Yeah.
>> Um Oh, make sure I turn the charger on here. Boop. And is that charging?
Yep. Okay, good. Make sure we're charging. Oh crap, I don't have it plugged in. Dang it. I meant to grab a charger for that. Crap.
Hold on, guys. Let me just get a little charger. Oh, I already brought one over.
I didn't plug it in, man. Come on, Griffin. Don't be so halley.
That's right, guys. I got some new words for you. I got some new words. I don't know if you guys are ready for some of these. These are pretty Wait, come on, Griffin.
>> That's what we're doing, Leslie.
We're giving a little fixes.
Giving a little fixes.
We're trying to see if it's, you know, worth it. So, make sure we get our contacts cleaned up. So, yeah. So, we got that cleaned up. Nice.
I don't know if now let's just check and see what the resistance is between these two spots. So, we can because that doesn't look serviceable to pop that off. Pull that up for Mark.
So, uh, so between there and there.
Nice.
All right, that's fine. Oh, here we go.
>> Let's change it a lot.
>> Well, I moved it around some.
>> Right.
>> So, but that's almost like right next.
That's right on the other side. So, that looks good. All right, that's good.
Got that cleaned up some. Now we're going to clean up this arm here.
>> Like a set of points.
>> Yeah, it's like a set of points. Huh, man.
I think we have some emery cloth. Be a little nicer.
Oh, yeah. We do. I remember I ordered that a while back. You needed it for something. Yeah.
All right. So, we've got the uh we've got the uh the side the batteries on the side of the RV. We've got those charging right now. Uh cuz we were thinking about trying to get the uh trying to put the fire the generator up since uh 8:23. We don't have a lot of time tonight. We got started a little late cuz we're busy doing some other stuff, acting like we know what we're doing.
And uh but I think we're at least going to try to plug it in and see what it does with that. Uh I got a good feeling about this. Could be wrong. It happens every once in a while.
>> It was a Thursday.
>> Yeah. Um, now does we're going to need a good contact between.
So as it comes in here, do we need this to be real solid? Will be when you put it in there.
>> Oh, so well yeah, but it's just coming on this side. So it's only touching on this side though, >> right? Does this comes in here? Yeah. So we need Oh, yeah. We need this to clean up. Yeah. H.
So, this coming along nicely, but we do need I don't know what I can use to to clean that up inside of there.
And that doesn't appear to be serviceable. So, but I'm thinking, you know, these places that rebuild them, all they do is clean up the contacts, too. So if they can clean them up, I can clean them up. So try to get some of this good right here.
We got any questions tonight? Sub Jay, thank you Jay. Oh, Senator Star, thank you very much. Thank you very much.
That's right. It's the mini mini Winnie.
It's actually the uh that's a we call it the Griffago.
Trying to gain support for the Griffo.
It's coming to a town near you. That's right. gonna come. Me and my family are gonna go on vacation one day. One day soon, too. We're taking this bad boy.
Oh, yeah. With it 70 shag carpet.
You know what's gonna be cool? I'm going be on the road and I'm be like broadcasting, you know, doing the live thing. Somebody be, "Oh, grip. I'm only 30 minutes away. My car is doing this.
Can you help me?" And then look, I'mma show up in the Gripago.
Walk out. Maybe in Texas, I have my Spurs on. Ching. Oh, yeah.
So it's um this is happening guys. This is happening. The channel is taking off.
U because look where else where else are you going to see where else are you going to see technician like me working on everything.
I think you have to look for that. Um All right. Let's see. Let's see what we got. Dude, I'd like to have that sit in that that cleaner over there. Yeah, >> but I want to see if we're making any progress now.
You know, you concur?
>> I concur.
>> Uh oh. You know what? Let's uh Oh, yeah. You know what? Let's get this I want to get this tip right here real good because as it comes through that little hole here >> Oh, grab through that.
>> Yeah. And then this here, if it get if it can grab real good here on the back side, it gives it a good um gives it a good ground. So, I'm going to see if I got a small uh a small drill bit to just not drill in there, but you know, just kind of clean it up.
>> Yeah, I do. If you don't Okay.
Let's see if one of these guys will work.
And we're not trying to drill this.
We're just trying to There we go.
We're just trying to clean that up so that as that stem I would call a stem as it rides in here.
I'd like to make it tight, you know, tighter to where it's not wiggling around. I don't know how we're going to be able to do that with um if as long as it is is riding, you know, consistently then I think we're going to be okay. I think. But hey, what do I know?
Uh yeah. So Leslie, I was thinking about just using the uh I was thinking about using that carburetor cleaner stuff. Um, I've got got some over there. I forget what it's called, but it's it's pretty mondo heavy duty stuff. Um, >> dip.
>> Yeah, is that what it's called? Dip.
>> Dip. Carburetor dip.
>> All right. So, that's cleaned up. I wish. All right. See if I can clean up this edge. So then when it goes back through there.
So, we're just trying to make things work, guys. Eye of the tiger.
That's how that's how I kind of lived my life. I wish I'd be the exception to the rule. Not because I wanted attention, just because I didn't take no for an answer.
I always thought there's got to be a way.
Um, anyways, if you guys got questions, you need help with something, chances are between me and Mark, 60s some years experience together, chances are we can answer it.
Um, I guarantee you guys aren't going to find another channel like this, dude.
I'm sure you can find channels of methheads talking or something, right?
>> But you're not going to find one. You're not going to find one where you can get answers to your questions on on stuff that that most people haven't been able to help you out with.
Are you ready to see if we got got any progress here? Yeah. Oh. Ah, man. That's going to take too long.
We're just going to clean up the area that the other side of the housing touches on.
Oh yeah, there you go.
Don't breathe that in.
And all right.
Hey, for those guys that were here for the uh Chevy Suburban with the the stereo, that is just about done. And I'll I'm going to show the how we wrap that up on the uh I'll do a live stream on that. Let me get a uh Oh, here we go. This will work.
Get your big bad Milwaukee.
Go and clean this off.
Oh yeah, there we go.
There we go.
So nice.
Um, hey guys. So, I'm trying to start a new thing. You know, when you see like, you know, Jeeps, what do the guys do with the Jeeps? They're always like this.
Is that it?
>> I guess. You know, motorcycles is always, you know, it's always regular this. So, with old body style Suburbans, it's this just regular manly thumbs up. All right.
And then you can care about it. That's right. To c h e a h to chair. That's to overenthusiastically agree with somebody. I like to Jason was uh chatting with gusto earlier today. That's what he said. He said, "I'm tearing with gusto grip." It's like, "You sure are, buddy." Oh, you know what? Let me get that one last piece right there. I hope I hope I don't mangle this, man. You got to get surgical with this one. Ready?
All right.
You ready?
Need to put the arm in here. Uh, >> what?
>> Put the arm in here.
>> Put it in where? Where you want to put it?
>> I thought it was in here.
>> Oh, yeah. Yeah, it was down this way.
>> Yeah.
>> Oh, you know what? Speaking of which, let me go ahead and get it right here.
Get up.
Does Does wire brushing a real estate give you better gas mileage? I don't think so, dude. I think I'm just trying to go ahead and get it to read, dude.
Man, tell you what, gas prices, man.
Isn't that something?
Speaking, you remember earlier I was talking about when they when they outlawed, you know, certain, you know, refrigerants.
What what politicians or politicians, what stocks did they get, especially recently before gas prices surged? They don't care about you, man.
You know who cares about you? Griffzilla Garage. That's why I'm showing you or trying to entertain you at least. Um, let's get this side.
We got that pretty good.
All right, let's see what we got.
Go ahead and Oops.
Nope. That's a little mangled now. It's all right. Mangle. We'll mangle it back the other way. We'll mangle and wrangle, dude. Right, Mark?
>> Yep.
>> There you go with the E15. I like that.
I run the uh I put the cheapest crap in my car.
This altitude don't matter.
So, this here needs to There we go.
Let me know if you got any thoughts on this. Right.
So, so right here now I think so that means we need to rotate this. There we go.
So, we're kind of bending this thing so we can measure where it needs to. There we go. Just like that. Right, Mark?
Um, so we tuck this in here.
I need I might need you to hold something there in a sec. You hold that one. All right. There we go.
But that's not right because this Oh, yeah. This comes right here. Okay, I see. Now, is that touching in there? I can't see it.
Damn.
Trying to see if our tab is touching.
There we go.
Now, now, why doesn't that want to come all the way through right now? There we go.
>> All right, hold that. Let's go ahead and see what we got. So, yeah, pinch that end on there. There we go.
>> Now, see what we got, guys. Let's see if we just wasted a bunch of time or if uh maybe if we had some mild success.
That's there. So, don't move it yet.
Let's see what we got. You ready? Um all right. 85. We got Oh, that's not good. Dang it.
Is it making contact the whole time?
That's what I want to know. It's not open. Yeah, it's not open.
But it's not changing.
So, I I just want to see Let me get my headlight on and let's see if it's uh Where am I? Oh, that's not mine. That's the That's the interns, guys. We got this intern.
He's a nice kid. That's I I will say that. Um I don't want to use the interns, man. I don't know where his head's been.
But uh well, he's an interesting kid.
We'll we'll put it that way, right, Mark? Sure.
Where' my headlight go? Uh so I want to see if that con if that's making contact. So, >> looks like it's missing it.
>> It's Yeah, that's bend.
>> It's bended out here. Let go. Let go.
Surprised I didn't show open though.
>> Well, um Well, no, because it was touching here. If that's touching it, if this is touching here, it's it's still going to give us a a reading. But that's got to touch it, too. But it looks like it was too far in.
>> I know. I don't I don't think so.
Because >> Hey, I've been wrong once before.
Is that why you got divorced?
>> She don't want She don't want a divorce now. But I do.
>> No, she doesn't.
>> Yeah. Hold on. So, right right there, it's touching it right there. I just want to see if if it changes.
>> I got a 55. All right. Move it.
>> Okay. All right. Cool. So, it's moving.
So, we just got to make sure we just got to make sure we have good contact on here, >> right?
>> So, >> got to do an alignment on it.
>> We got we got we got to do we got to do a deal sending new alignment, >> right?
>> There's a you won't see this at every shop. Um so, uh so when it's in um >> it looks like it's too far out.
>> Yeah. So, let's So, when it's like this, I just want to get an idea of Right. And this is right here.
Oh, yeah. That's way too far.
It needs to be centered up. Kind of toes off.
I thought it was more of a a camber issue, dude. I mean, it could have been.
They They kind of worked together.
All right, let's see what happens here.
>> All right, hold on, guys.
Now, I want to make sure that it's um close to act. I think it needs to come back some because this is this is empty down here, right?
>> Correct. Yeah. So, it's almost off of it. It's >> I'll tell you guys, I don't know if you guys are going to see see the diesel brothers doing this.
So, tilt it up. All right. So, are we Okay. So, what do we got right now?
>> Okay. So, that's weird. It missed. It was correct and then it came off. So, >> I heard it click.
>> Yeah. So, now we're at 25 and it misses for a little bit.
So that's all 60 or six. Yep.
>> Okay.
>> Now it's a That's funny. Now it's Now it's off.
>> Yeah. So, let's see what we got here.
So, when it was on here like this, we got to do a little alignment action. All right. So, all right. We might have to come back to this later.
Uh, so we can go ahead and do something else that's a little funner right now before we leave because we don't need to do all this on camera for you. And once we have it correct, we can show you what we found. So, let's uh Now, why is it >> Scott Denver work on this? She'd be like, "It's supposed to go in here like this. I'm making it go in there like this." And he'd break it. I love that kid.
Now, why is it not wanting to go right now? It's Oh, I You know what? This needs to come up more with that.
So, all right. I think I think we're going to do rest of this later. Shut up.
But if you hit function, it'll it'll go to something else. It'll go to like a different setting it has. All right, let's try this one more time before we go to something else. U sorry guys, try and read some of these comments. Well, show ethanol is very corrosive.
Yeah, I think I think we got it clean enough. It's it's it's an alignment issue now.
And I wanted to I wanted to make sure that it was uh I kind of want to make sure it's it's riding on it the same same way the whole time.
So >> all right. So it must not be on right there. Nope.
Huh.
That was too far out. Still >> too far out like that way.
>> Yeah.
>> And right there it seems like that this would be where it's supposed to be. All right. So the middle of this is where that needs to be when it's and gosh that looks really close to the middle of it.
Maybe over just a wee bit.
And I think this need to So, I don't mind if it pushes hard up against it, you know, right?
>> So, shove that in there like that.
That's funny. You came up with the fuel pump aling unit alignment.
Go ahead and There we go.
And then I may have to watch a YouTube video on the trick of this.
Okay.
Getting movement.
All right. That was show the camera so people could see it.
Mark, that's moving like it should. That's pretty consistent. Oh, >> there's a jump.
>> So that's Oh, that's >> So that's 25 down.
>> Yeah, I think it's supposed to be higher than that. That's what Oh, may got hung up on something.
Man, it's Man, this is close, too, man.
Just we don't have it exactly right yet.
It's all erratic.
See, >> that's all the way up. It shouldn't.
It's I think that we got it to uh when it's trapped. Uh hold on. When it was down right now, it was not Yeah, it was not uh >> not up far enough.
>> Yeah, it wasn't up far enough. So, the whole thing just needed to wrap over like this. So, Um, >> I know this isn't very fun, guys. We're gonna go do something else here in a sec. Hold on one second. I feel like I almost feel like I'm talking to my kids right now and I'm like, "All right, guys. We're almost done. Almost done."
U, let's uh let's go ahead and move on to something else.
Just let me try one more time. Just give me one more time, guys.
Hey, Mark, I'm thinking about doing like a uh like a class for on weekends like on Saturday uh for people that don't, you know, like for students or something that are going off to school and um you know, they don't charge like I don't know $50 or $100, something like that. And uh Oh man, it's teasing me. It's almost like perfect. You ready?
>> Yep.
>> That looks good, dude.
>> That does look good. Smooth.
>> Oh, I went to the top and it acted up.
Dang it.
I heard it click some. Dang. I think it got hung up. Uh, it did. Uh, guys, we're really close on getting that right. All right, so messed that a little bit.
Let's um let's go ahead and see what we got for these uh these batteries if they've charged up. And yeah, flint flipper. It's It's just It's not consistent. And we're just trying to get the angle right on that. So, uh let's we're going to show you a couple more things. I got to go. Yeah. 8:47. I got to get out here before 9ine tonight.
That'll actually be a uh that'll be an achievement.
So, come on over here, team.
>> Well, you know, I wanted to go ahead and uh What's that say?
>> 95%.
>> All right, >> let's um I think let's try the uh let's try the electrical, dude.
What do you think, Mark? Mark, >> as far as the generator or >> No, let's plug it in. Okay, let's see what happens. So, let's try this bad boy out, guys. Check it out.
All right. So, check it out. We're going to see if this thing's actually going to work.
Uh crap. Where did I put that?
We got an adapter for it earlier. There it is.
This is it, guys. Uh All right. So, we have an outlet on this side.
No.
All right. So, we got I'm not an RV guy, so I've been looking this up on chat GPT going along. Got this adapter.
Plugs right in. Well, let's uh looks like it's almost long enough to plug right into this over here.
>> You ready?
>> Yeah.
All right.
Now, so I really don't know how this works. I don't know when that's plugged in if I should actually have electricity on the inside, but we can uh we're going to find out together here. Oh, you already do. What do you see?
Oh, no kidding. Check this out, guys.
Leah, let me unplug this. Um, I shall unplug it here.
Check this out, man.
Look at this bad boy, man. This thing is so bad. It's so cool.
Oh yeah, you guys. This is for real, man. Oh yeah. I don't make it up. Look at these chairs, dude.
Look at that. That lights on. This is awesome. And then here our fridge. Look at this bad boy, man.
Can't make this up.
And so, look, check it out. We got this thing here. I guess we can we can switch this over to 110.
You already do. I didn't hear it turn on. Oh, it says ignition. So, I guess I got to light it, huh? Now, I guess that's only if you're doing the gas mode, though. I don't know. I got to look that up. Huh.
Oh. Um.
Huh. I don't know. So, I got to look that up. Uh, I don't hear it turned on.
So, what's that?
So yeah, I don't know how this is electric.
So I got to see I got to see how it's supposed to work. I don't know. And I don't hear it turned on.
What other things are electrical in here that could work? Let me see.
Oh, dude. Mark.
Mark, DSL turned on.
Open this. How do I open this here?
Mark, it's got smoking.
Oh. Whoa. There's a little step thing right here.
All right. So guys, um, so this just I guess is this this the heater? It's not the AC. AC's on top. So this just kicked on. That's cool. That works. Oh. Uhoh.
Let me see here.
Come on.
All right.
All right. So, I guess that's just heat.
Where's Oh, this is the AC stuff up here.
All right. Look at that. Let me set this thing down.
Um, hold on a sec, guys. Let me tighten that up.
Oops.
Hold on, please.
Okay, there's that. And then let's just clean this up.
All right. All right. Let me see if you guys ready.
>> Fan only. Okay.
It feels like I'm going to break it.
Oh, okay. Something happened when I turned it that way. That says fan only.
Okay. I guess it turns this way.
This feels really stiff. I don't think that's right. Huh.
I don't know how that works. So, I gotta figure that out. I don't like this knob feels mondo stiff, guys. So, so this here, thanks part um I don't >> I'm trying to turn it like a little bit at a time and and something's happening each time.
Temperature control. I'm going to want this on cold. That one turned. This one turns easy.
>> Yeah. Thanks, Flint. Um, man, I can't can't turn any further really, huh?
Oh, something happened that time.
Okay, so I'm going to need a little guidance here, guys. If you guys can uh tell me more about Any insight on this would be great because I'm super excited about this.
So, it starts working there.
It's really hard to turn, but it's like it's starting to go.
Um, man, it's tight.
Oh, I need some AC working in here, guys. I'm get this thing blowing cold.
Uh, think.
Wow. Huh.
Oh, something happened.
Something happened. It's alive, man.
How's this light work?
Oh, all right. Look at that.
I'm motor homeing, dude. Griff Bango is coming alive.
Oh, dude. That's actually starting to get cold, too. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Almost 50 years old R22, baby. That's what I'm talking about.
I might just go up there and take a nap tomorrow. Oh yeah. This is great. This is very cool. Very cool. Are you guys excited? I'm excited, clearly.
Wow, this is great. This is so cool.
What else we got here, guys?
Mark, I turned the AC on. Dude, >> I heard you.
>> It It was really tough to turn, but it looks like right now I've got it set on its maximum setting, and this is This is starting to blow cold.
>> Nice.
>> So, now I was a little bummed out. The the fridge didn't turn on.
If I had to switch to gas.
>> Well, it has an option for 110 right here.
>> Okay.
>> So, it also has a It says gas and it says 12vt, but it has an ignition thing.
Gas.
>> Yeah, it's got to be only when it's gas.
So, Oh, what are you doing? Stop that. Knock it off. Don't do that. You know better.
Don't do that. Stop. Stop.
>> Put in timeout.
>> You put it in timeout. So, Huh?
>> What's on top? Is it freezer?
>> There's a freezer.
That's Dude, if this blows cold on a hot day outside, that's going to be bitching, man. Cuz it's starting to get cold. It's It's You Can you feel it?
I I can Yeah, I can tell.
>> Let me know. Mopar, let me know if you got any thoughts on this uh this fridge setup. If I'm missing something, I don't I don't know if I need to do anything with this panel down here.
No. Stop. Damn it. I hate when it does that.
>> It's called a gimbal for a reason.
>> Well, no. It's It's this thing is is pulling down on it.
So >> now you need to go all through all your feeds.
>> Yeah. Well, yeah. So that's what I was thinking. But yeah. So So Mopar, yeah, it's got a temp thing right here and I put it on I've got it on max.
So what do you Let me know what you think. And then got like these these fuses down here.
How's this work? There we go.
This is on.
Hey Mark, let's grab a test light real quick.
Lights, furnace, light. What's that say? Can't read that one. Huh.
Yeah, Fred said everything worked. And so I think that it might be like with the like it was with with the uh with the AC was that just had to get you know kind of flicked a couple times because it was like and then it came on. So uh and then uh I think Mopar I showed you that it's got this cool uh you know options right here for which one you want it on. So I I put it on the 110 I guess. I'm trying to flick it a couple times.
Oh, thanks, dude. Yep.
I'm g I'm just going to check these fuses real quick. They looked good, but we'll test them with the test light.
Yeah, they're all good.
Huh.
All right.
All right. So, those are good. Okay.
All right. I hope I hope that this is is good. I don't if I'm trying to really keep this thing, you know, this kind of vibe because people are going to want to rent out the uh the Griffo, man. They're like, "Oh, man. Griff, could I borrow the Griffo?"
But yeah, you can rent it. So, all right. This is I'm super stoked about the AC. That is awesome. Uh I think we had a couple other things we wanted to try out before we called it a night.
I thought we try out the uh uh I thought we maybe try out see if the compressor will kick on. You want to try it?
>> Generator.
>> Yeah, generator. Yeah.
Got to get some fuel to it. Yeah, I was going to just run a line. How does this Oh, it slides out. Okay, cool.
I'll put some grease on that later. Ow, just stabbed myself. That's Dude, that is cool. I tried a couple times, man, finds it. It's like So, uh, all right, let's um I think we should put a jump box on. Well, the both those should be charged here. Let's u we've been charging up the >> 95%.
>> So, we've been trying to charge up these batteries that have been in here for 20 years.
>> They're die hards.
>> Yeah. I like Bruce Willis, >> right? Says it's got says it's got 14 volts, man. All right, let's let's see if this generator will fire up, dude. Is this one my This is yours, isn't it?
Yeah. Yeah. The clamp's nicer on it.
Uh, all right. Let's uh let's give this a shot, guys. Let me grab the iPad so I can try to respond to any any comments.
This is cool, dude.
Um, okay. This uh Dave, this is a 78.
Um, hey, you working? Come on, let's go.
Uh, so let's uh uh looks badass to me.
That's what I think.
Let's uh let's run a fuel line to it real quick.
Do we have any more fuel that I use at all?
Let me uh let me grab a Is there any I don't think there's any in this one.
Actually, let's just we'll just use the uh the one that's already over here, you know. Yeah.
Let me grab some uh hose clamps.
Oh yeah.
All right, guys. I'm going to order tires for this bad boy tonight. So, we're not going to have to keep, you know, hooking up the uh hopefully we won't have to keep Well, I'm going to order the tires for it. And then we got to have the uh we're going to get that sending unit, you know, we'll straighten that out. We'll iron out that that hiccup and uh we just drive this thing and what's it doing over there?
Hey, send come here. What are you doing?
Come on. You gotta be a team player.
Stop. Stop that.
Uh, I got I gotta get me a camera person, dude. Uh, we're going to have to use this 38 line.
That's what I got.
All right.
And then uh I hope this actually Oh, dang it.
I took that fuel filter out earlier.
Let me uh Hey, could you grab me a a beer out of the fridge, please?
>> Up front?
>> Yeah, there should be some in there.
Yeah. Okay. I need this and I need this.
All right.
All right. So, let's tighten this up.
This thing's going to be so bad, guys.
This is going to be so cool.
Yeah. I got to see another one like this. Not Not a channel like this, man.
Guys, got to help me get this thing on the road, dude.
We'll give it a little assistance here.
Oh, we'll just spray in the air.
There we go.
I'm going wait for my beer and then I'm gonna try to fire it up.
Uh, any questions I can answer for my favorite fans that are joining in?
Let me see. What do we got here?
Uh, >> yeah. Thanks, dude.
>> All right. All right. You ready, Mark?
>> Yep.
Maybe a little too soon for a victory beer, but we'll see.
Um, you ready? Born ready.
I saw some sparks in here.
H.
Come on. Should flood it? Oh, do I have to hold this on?
H. Is there a throttle anywhere?
Yeah. Here we go.
Huh?
It sounds like it's starting to run. And then >> you know you got fire now.
is is huh? Let me see there.
Okay.
Come on.
All right.
Mark, once you come do the uh the throttle.
You pulling it little carburetor.
>> It's what? It's a little carburetor.
H got potential.
>> Oh yeah.
>> Is that electric?
Yeah, it is.
I bet that carburetor is gummed up.
>> I bet it is.
>> What do you think?
>> I put money on it.
>> Okay.
It went for a sec.
>> I did.
H.
Maybe the electric choke ain't working or wait it'll hit. Hold on. Let me hold this choke out here.
Dang.
I'm just Is it It's either flooded or or it's not uh uh or or that carpet is so gunk, you know, gked up that nothing's getting through it or very little.
So, Huh.
>> Well, we know it's got fire. I mean, it does run. Yeah.
I think it was almost flooding. That's why it hits Ken. It it it ran for a little bit earlier.
All right. So, let me get a picture of this carburetor. See if I can just get a if I can get a gasket kit for it and stuff.
I bet that I wonder if What time is it?
Oh, it's already after 9. I gotta go.
All right. We had a lot of fun. Let me put this back up in the uh I am curious to see if this pulled anything. You know, >> it pulled something, but you got brake clean.
>> Yeah. So, that's dry, dude. It didn't pull nothing.
>> Oh, that should have been up on something. the gravity feed if it pulled anything.
>> Well, yeah, but I look it pulls it from down below anyways.
>> Well, I know, but you're trying to give it help.
>> I know, but I'm thinking with with that there and that's >> it's not pulling at all. So, >> doesn't need a fuel filter.
>> That runs off vacuum.
But does it need the pump or does it need um you know is is is this pulling at all? You know?
>> Well, this your got two springs and two diaphragms.
>> Yeah.
>> And they work on vacuum, >> right? I'm saying is it is it even getting the vacuum that it needs?
>> I think it's getting a vacuum, but mainly the gaskets because they're dried out.
All right, let me get a picture of this.
I I'll take a picture of it before I leave so I can u this this isn't hard though.
>> Nothing even went out.
>> Yeah. So, it's not pulling at all. Um I bet we can get parts for this.
>> Oh, I guarantee it.
>> I bet that'll be easier than the other parts. All right, cool. So, we'll go ahead and Oh, all right. All right.
We'll we'll swing it around back in the morning. Uh I'm going to get a picture of that before I leave. If I use my phone to do that. All right, I think that's it, guys. Um, getting there.
We're getting there. It's getting cold in there. Oh, yeah. Let me go feel see how that feels.
Guys, you guys got to support you got to support the the Griffo, man.
Let me see see how AC's feeling.
It's feeling cold in here. Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
That's nice.
Yep. That knob's starting to turn. There we go. Let's turn it back.
Come on. Come on. Around. Oh, it's tight. It's tight.
Come on. There we go. Nice.
This is so cool. This is turning out.
It's going to be so neat. My kids Eastwood and Denver are going to be so excited about this. So, we're getting there. Uh am a little bummed out. I haven't heard the fridge kick on yet. I just wanted to look one more time.
Um Oh, wrong button.
Let me see real quick.
Yeah, I don't think this fridge is going to work because it's not it's not wanting to work off 12vt either. I don't I don't hear it kicking on. That sucks.
>> So, what we'll do is not doing tonight, but we'll see if we've got, you know, just keep it simple. Do we have power getting to these switches?
>> You know, if we don't, well, we got to fix that first. But if we do, then we just got to make sure that they're switching over.
So, so we'll uh we'll do that later.
I can't get to it right there. All right. That's just a couple flatheads.
All right. Well, we had some definitely had some successes tonight.
Turn that off.
That's going to be so cool. There we go.
All right, guys.
you want to help support the the Griab baggo, go and hit the super thanks button. And if you don't, well, you're just missing out on a great project.
>> Ken, how are you enjoying that? uh that AC working properly in your in your six liter, man. Is that blowing out nice and cold now? Right where you want it to instead of uh instead of out the the dash, instead of out the defrost, I sure hope the weather starts getting warm, too. I want to ride my Harley.
Man, there's some good progress. Figured out some good stuff, right, Mark?
>> Yeah, definitely.
>> I'm I'm a little bummed out about the uh I'm definitely a little bummed out about the fridge. So, I when I tried it on like I thought it was a beer. I thought it was a I thought it was a tool a tool or a brake clean.
Anyways, um with the with the with the fridge, I'm thinking we uh you know, because I tried I switched it over to 12vt.
