President Trump Pushes Abraham Accords Expansion Across Middle EastAdded:
President Trump is calling on several Middle Eastern and Islamic nations to join the Abraham Accords once the Iran conflict wraps up. In a true social post Monday, he said Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, and Pakistan must join the Abraham Accords. The president said negotiations with Iran have been going well and he believes he can create a united Middle East. One America's chief White House correspondent Daniel Baldwin has more.
President Donald Trump revealed Monday that a deal with Iran was progressing nicely, but he also added a possible twist, saying that any deal should require a slew of Middle Eastern allies to sign on to the Abraham Accords. The president specifically called on Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, and Jordan to join the UAE and Bahrain in signing on. The Abraham Accords are designed to normalize relations between Israel and other Middle Eastern countries. This has always been on the president's mind. In November of 2025, President Trump talked about the expansion of the Abraham Accords, saying many Middle Eastern countries wanted to sign on, but there was one primary deterrent >> because of the status of Iran. When Iran had a possibility of nuclear weapons, which they do not have now, when Iran was uh the bully of the Middle East, let's call it the bully of the Middle East, which it isn't anymore, uh they had a hard time going against that. But thanks to Operation Epic Fury, President Trump believes that deterrent no longer exists. Republican South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham celebrated the president's idea, calling it quote simply brilliant. Graham added that it would result in the most significant change in the Middle East in thousands of years.
>> The four originals are phenomenal and they're doing really well. They're making a lot of money with trade and other things being in the Abraham Accords. But it only matters if the deal gets across the finish line, which Secretary of State Marco Rubio called a waiting game.
>> The response, I mean, when you get down to some of these things, you got to hear back and it takes the Iranian system a little while longer to get back.
>> Reports say the deal under discussion would reopen the Straight of Hormuz and ultimately prevent Iran from getting a nuclear weapon.
So, we have a what I think is a pretty solid thing on the table in terms of their ability to open up the straits, get the straits open, enter into a very real, significant, timelimited negotiation on the nuclear matters and hopefully we can pull it off. It has a lot of support in the Gulf, has a lot of support globally. Every country that we've walked through it understands it's very not just very reasonable, but it's the right thing for the world to get done. As the president said, he's not in a hurry. He's not going to make a bad deal. I mean, the president's not going to make a bad agreement. President Trump defended the deal under discussion, saying if he agrees to sign on to it, quote, "It will be a good and proper one, not like the one made by Obama."
>> No one has done more, and no one has been more serious about the threat of a nuclear Iran than President Trump has been. And so, I'm very confident, we should all be very confident, that we're not going to have a we're either going to have a good agreement or we're going to have to deal with it another way.
>> Rubio says the US expects to have a response in the coming days. And at that point, it should be clear whether or not the deal can go from 95% done to 100% done. Daniel Baldwin, One American News, the White House.
