[00:00:48]So, this is like I believe this is like um a mixed girl and she's talking about or she's making fun of those like Argentinians who are like trying to distinguish themselves from the rest of Latin America e ethnically.

[00:01:21][laughter] Okay, so you guys get the idea. Um, they're essentially saying that um they're not Latin American, they're just white, they're just like European. Now, if you guys aren't aware of the history, let's give you like some context on this. So again, Argentina is in South America. Now, this is known as the land where those N-words, not those N-words, guys, the one ending with an I, those guys went to Argentina after World War II. Okay, so anyway, Latin America is mostly, you know, ethnically Indo or African mixed with some European ethnicities here and there.

[00:02:15]Argentina, however, supposedly is mostly European in ethnicity. And that's how these people are having this claim that they're not Latino in the sense that like they're white, they're European. So now like for most people living outside Latin America or who aren't aware with like you know the geography um the confusion here is that they're supposedly you know Latin America is supposedly unified by Spanish-speaking people you know except for Brazil as in Latin America is identified by you know them speaking Spanish. However, Argentinians are trying to make this distinction that they're white and you know, culture is more than just language. So, essentially, these people are just saying that like, oh, we're not like those other Latinos. Don't lump us in with them, bro.

[00:03:06]You know, I guess South African white people also feel this way, but they're more or less, they've more or less, sorry, acknowledged that they are white people stuck in a continent with those dark-kinned people. So, they've accepted their fate. Whereas Argentina wants to act like they're not like that.

[00:03:26]And you know, I guess this is like trending and I saw this on Twitter. I will never call it X. By the way, this is in light of the World Cup because you know, Argentina is on their way to winning it. Um, they're doing well and they actually beat England. So, I guess some Latin American people want to claim Argentina's win as a Latin American win.

[00:03:46]But of course, it's going to be a little bit harder for Latin Americans to do that or to like identify with Argentina winning as like a win for Latin America because, you know, a lot of these people are trying to claim that they're ethnically European. So, they're like trying to disassociate.

[00:04:04]So, that is the issue. Now, you know, it's weird because, you know, with Latin America as a whole, they're kind of culturally lumped in together. even Argentina along with the rest of South America. But I guess, you know, like just based on their skin color, they feel like, you know, based on what they know about history, they're trying to these white people in Argentina are trying to like give themselves a sense of superiority, but in reality, you're just like you just so you just so happen to be born in that location and that's it. Like culturally, you're closer to South America than you are to Europe.

[00:04:46]You know what I mean? Like you just so happened to be there and you just so happened to have a lot more cool like ethnically European people around you, but you're no different than South Africa. You know, whatever makes yourself feel superior, you're going to do that. Even if it doesn't really mean anything.
