The Red Banana

[00:00:14]So, today everyone was making fun of me not using the machete and using my automatic gravy secateurs.

[00:00:21]And first of all, I have a bad hand. I'm allowed to use that. Second of all, we're not using a machete anymore. We've got a whole saw here. Now, these are some beautiful red dakkers and they're they're so beautiful the animals are starting getting into them. Now, people are all going, "What the hell? What the hell?"

[00:00:38]Well, guess what? Going to have to go back a tiny bit and watch our video on the red dakka or we're actually about to release another one. So, keep an eye out on another informative video on the red dakka banana. Now, one thing people don't realize is yes, the banana trees only fruit once. They And this is quick education for you. You have got one banana tree, pops up, has fruit. Okay.

[00:01:04]Now, that banana tree in a couple months will have fruit. So, if you're coming out and you think your trees are fruiting multiple times a year because of this, it's not. You're probably This one's already dead and that one's got a new bunch coming out because you've harvested that and you didn't even realize that there's another tree that's about to fruit. The only bananas that are going to fruit multiple times are false bananas. So, there is no reason that you should think banana trees fruit more than once. The banana and people are going to go, "It's not a tree. It's grass. It's damn. It's a berry." Yeah, it's a bit of all and I don't really care what it is at the moment because right now, it's mulch. It's going back into the soil. It's going to be cut up and it's going to be used as chop and drop because they fruit once and that's it.

[00:01:51]Like I said, next couple months this one's going to fruit, that one will die, then the little pup will come up.

[00:01:56]They're And you'll see there'll be little pups.

[00:02:01]There'll be little pups hiding around the base of these trees and they will pop up as soon as that one dies. Now, if I left this up, what's going to happen is that's just going to decompose standing up and people go, "Oh, then it sends all the nutrients back into the root ball." That's wrong. It does not.

[00:02:17]You literally need to chop these up because that's going to send the nutrients back. That's going to stop sending nutrients. It's going to then focus on creating new growth from all because at the bottom you've got a rhizome with little nuggets of banana pups that are coming up. You can dig those up and you can plant them and you can cut them up and plant them individually or you leave them in the ground, cut this back and all the little pups will start shooting out. But, you're using this as a beneficial mulch.

[00:02:44]Chop and drop. Do it all the time. And yes, you can eat the insides of these, but I am not going to. Today at least.
