Our solar system contains eight planets orbiting the Sun, each with unique characteristics: Mercury is the smallest and fastest planet; Venus is the hottest due to its thick heat-trapping clouds; Earth is the only known planet with life; Mars is the red planet with the tallest volcano; Jupiter is the largest gas giant with the Great Red Spot; Saturn is famous for its beautiful ice and rock rings; Uranus spins on its side as a light blue icy world; and Neptune is the farthest planet with the strongest winds in the solar system.

Planets of Our Solar System | Fun Space Facts for Kids with Marko!
Added:Hi kids, I'm Marco and today we're going on a fun space adventure. We're going to learn all about the planets in our solar system. [music] The amazing family of planets that orbit our sun. Buckle up junior astronauts. Let's explore the eight awesome planets one by one. First, meet the sun. It's not a planet. It's a big hot star in the center of our solar system. Every planet orbits around it like bees buzzing around a flower.
One.
Mercury.
The speedy planet. Mercury is the closest planet to the sun. It's super hot during the day and freezing at night. It's the smallest planet and it zooms around the sun faster than any other. That's why it's called speedy Mercury. Two. Venus. The hottest planet.
Venus is about the same size as Earth, but it's way hotter. Hotter than Mercury.
Why? Because it has thick clouds that trap heat. It's sometimes called Earth's twin, but trust me, you wouldn't want to live there. Three.
Earth. Our home.
Sweet home.
Earth is the only planet we know that has life. Like plants, animals, and you.
It has air to breathe, water to drink, and land to play on. We're pretty lucky to live here.
Four. Mars. The red planet. Mars is called the red planet because of its rusty dust. It has the tallest volcano and the biggest canyon in the whole solar system. Scientists are exploring it with robots to see if life ever existed there. Five.
Jupiter. The giant planet. Whoa. Jupiter is huge. It's the biggest planet in our solar system. It has colorful clouds, a big red storm called the Great Red Spot, and at least 80 moons.
It's made mostly of gas, so there's no place to stand. Six, Saturn, the ringed wonder.
Saturn is famous for its beautiful rings made of ice and rock. It's also a gas giant like Jupiter. If you had a super telescope, Saturn would be one of the prettiest planets to see. Seven, Uranus, the sideways spinner.
Uranus is a chilly planet that spins on its side like a rolling ball. It's light blue and made of icy gases. It has rings, too, but they're hard to see.
Eight, Neptune, the windy blue world.
Neptune is the farthest planet from the sun. It's dark, cold, and super windy.
The strongest winds in the solar system.
It's a deep blue color and has big storms that come and go.
Wow!
We made it all the way from Mercury to Neptune. Each planet is different, and they all have something special.
Thanks for exploring space with me today.
Until next time, keep asking questions, and keep looking up at the stars.
Bye, kids!
