Constitutional amendment processes with deliberate delays and voter approval requirements are specifically designed to prevent political parties from quickly entrenching power through rushed redistricting; when parties attempt to bypass these safeguards, courts can strike down such actions as unconstitutional, as demonstrated by the Virginia Supreme Court's 4-3 ruling that Democrats violated the state constitution by rushing a redistricting amendment through a special session during early voting.

How Gavin Newsom & Democrats Are Lying About Virginia's 'Voter-Approved' Maps"Added:
All right, Gavin Newsom and many of these Democrats who are talking about the redistricting issue in Virginia are lying, greasy pieces of slime, and I'm going to break down why he is a lying, greasy piece of slime in this video. I'm going to kind of break his video down point by point. So, let's go ahead and get into this.
>> I keep saying it, the right is ruthless.
You saw what just happened in Virginia, the Supreme Court overturned the will of the voters with transparent and democratically approved redistricted maps. Con- Okay. So, for starters, he's talking about the will of the people essentially. What he doesn't tell you is Democrats in Virginia walked all, literally, walked all over the state constitution in order to try to entrench power at the federal level in the House of Representatives. Jeffrey, what do you mean? I'm going to break the situation down. So, let's first talk about the legislative body in the state of Virginia. You've got the House of Delegates, and then you've got the Senate, okay? So, the House of Delegates, think of it like the House of Representatives, and then you've got the Senate. The House of Delegates has elections every 2 years. The Senate in that state has elections every 4 years, okay?
So, >> [sighs] [gasps] >> in order to Well, let's talk about what the Constitution is. The Constitution is the supreme law of that state. It's the the laws that essentially create the foundation of law and order in that state. So, in order to change the Constitution, the supreme law of that land, the people of Virginia put certain protections in place to make sure that is a legitimate, fair process, so people can understand what the amendment is and have a chance to really support it or not support it.
And the reason they did that is because they wanted to stop quick, blatant power grabs from either party. So, in order So, let's start with why this is a constitutional amendment. So, they have a bipartisan redistricting commission that's built into the constitution. That is who controls redistricting. It isn't the legislature.
So, in order for Democrats to get control and redistrict, they had to quite literally amend the state's constitution. Okay. Now, here is why what they did is unconstitutional.
So, you have sessions, right? The sessions are where the legislators put together, you know, different pieces of legislation. Okay? You They typically have one session a year, a standard session. They can have more, but at least one. Um so, if you are a member of the House of Delegates, you'll partake in at least two sessions in a minimum or at a minimum.
Now, in order to amend the constitution, here's what it requires. It requires that that constitutional amendment pass in one session, okay? Then after it passes in that session, then you have to have an election in between.
So, you've got to wait until the next election, which depending like let's say it's it's close to 2 years from now. So, let's just say you got to wait for about 2 years, okay? So, you have to wait till the next election.
And then after that election, because what's going to happen typically is you're going to pass that constitutional amendment in a session. Then the public's going to talk about it. Both parties are going to go back and forth about it, okay? Then you've got to wait.
This gives people time to understand and then vote for people in the next election that want to implement or not implement that constitutional amendment.
So, it stops one party from just being able to come in, say they're not going to do something, grab the power, then do it, and permanently entrench themselves in a position of power.
Okay? So, the constitutional amendment requires it pass in one session, you wait till the next election, then after that election then only after that election then you can have it in another session.
If it passes in that session, then the vote goes out to the people.
Again, this is designed to be slow and deliberate because they're trying to amend the founding and the supreme law of that land. This was specifically done to stop parties from just power grabbing once they got in power. It was literally designed to stop Democrats from doing what they just tried to do.
So, the reason that this was overturned is because it was literally unconstitutional and Democrats tried to trample all over that state's constitution. So, they tried to trample on the constitution in order to amend the constitution in order to lock in power at the federal level in the House of Representatives. They were doing that again, think about this. This is a They're doing all of this in a purple state.
This is a purple state. It's one of the most balanced states in the entire union. 6-5 at the federal level in the House of Representatives in favor of Democrats. Democrats were going to take it from 6-5 to 10-1 in their favor again, in a purple state. And they were violating and trampling all over their constitution in order to do that. And then Gavin Newsom's going to come out here and tell you and I that Republicans are the ones that are ruthless. No, Democrats are ruthless and they're just manipulative. And I'm showing you that because he's manipulative as He's very manipulative. And he And we've seen how ruthless Democrats will be when given the chance. They just showed us in Virginia. And thank God the courts overturned that because it was literally unconstitutional. And it was a 4-3 vote.
It should have been a 7-0 vote. It was very obviously unconstitutional.
Very obviously, but let's let this slimeball continue.
>> Contrast that to what Ron DeSantis did down in Florida in exclusive with Fox News. His maps were revealed on Fox News. Never went in front of the voters and were approved the next day by his legislature. Compare and contrast what we did in California with Proposition 50. Again, going to the voters in a transparent and democratic way to Joe, here's another reason why he's a slimy piece of whatever.
The reason that California went to the voters because they had to. They didn't do it out of the goodness of their heart. They didn't do it because they necessarily wanted the voters to vote on it. In order to bypass that redistricting commission, they had to have a referendum.
They had to. It was by law. They couldn't just go and then just start using the legislature to redistrict. So, they went and changed their laws in order to allow the legislature to partisanly redistrict. So, again, when he's acting like, "We did this and we're democratic and we're No, you're not. You did it because you had to because you wanted power. If you guys were willing to walk all over Virginia's constitution and support trampling all over the constitution in order to lock in four seats at the house, are we really supposed to believe that all of a sudden you care about the will of the people and you had a vote just for the sake of having a vote to make sure the people wanted it? No, you didn't care about that. You just the vote was literally a required step in order to get the power that you wanted and that's what Democrats did in in California. So, again, that's why I'm saying he's greasy and manipulative because he's playing it as as if it was a moral play and they wanted to make sure they had the will of the people with them. That is not what they cared about. That was just a required step in order to get to where they wanted it to go. So, him trying to manipulate that and get people to think something is not is is slimy. It's greasy. It's disgusting.
What the governor of Louisiana is doing. He uses emergency powers.
Literally uses emergency powers to suspend the primary election, to stop the primary election after votes were already been cast. To do what? To erase black representation in his state. It's happening So, all right. So, he's talking about Louisiana. So, let's think about this with the Kelly decision, right? The Supreme Court just ruled that that district in Louisiana was unconstitutional.
So, what Gavin Newsom is arguing is that the governor of Louisiana should have allowed an unconstitutional map to stay on the books in order to benefit Democrats.
That's essentially what Gavin Newsom is saying.
They literally said it was unconstitutional. And again, Gavin Newsom is trying to make this about black people because that's one thing Democrats do. They manipulate emotions and they manipulate race in order to maintain loyalty from black people. And it works. Still 85% of us vote for Democrats. But again, that's what it's about. It's not attacking black people.
It's just not letting Democrats weaponize the VRA in order to lock in Democrat representation in red states.
Cuz they talk about representation and fair representation, but let's think about New England.
Republicans have no representation in New England. Democrats have no problem with that. Democrats are just mad that they can no longer weaponize the VRA in order to lock in seats using black people.
That's realistically what this is about.
Let's see if he had anything else of importance to say.
>> And all across the South, it's real.
It's what we've been warning against.
And only thing that can stop it is you, all of us.
Trump and MAGA are also waking all of us up to the reality of what we have to do, and that is to get Speaker Jeffries the gavel this November. We can't give in.
I don't know how many times Okay. So again, this is about winning in the midterms. Um What's funny to me is just how they lie and manipulate. And you're you're likely going to see Democrats get more desperate because um Republicans are redistricting in the South. That's taking away Democrats' seats.
Um and if you think about it, in the 2030 census, Democrats are going to lose seats as well. Republicans are going to gain seats. On top of Republicans are deporting a bunch of illegal aliens that Democrats have been using to increase their census numbers. So Democrats are actually in kind of the they're kind of in a precarious situation. So it's likely we'll actually see them start to get more desperate and act more desperate. But, I wanted to call this out because he and many other Democrats go out into the public and they try to lie and manipulate people into believing things that aren't true.
If you just listen to him, you would think that, you know, Democrats are just trying to do the right thing and abiding by the will of the people and Republicans are just trying to destroy everything. When in reality, Democrats are trampling over constitutions in order to try to get power. And then when they're held accountable, they don't say, you know, we actually did violate the Constitution. We didn't do that right. No, they never do anything wrong.
What they're going to try to do is pivot and say, well, the Supreme Court threw out something that the will of the people wanted. While completely ignoring the fact that Democrats violated the Constitution in many ways because to them, it really doesn't matter. The rule of law does not matter to them. They just use it as a talking point to seem moral and get people to support them.
What matters to them is locking in federal power, okay? So, you'll see them talk about, well, we're fighting for democracy. Just replace the word democracy with Democrat political power and everything they say will start to make much more sense because they talk about fighting for democracy while they literally tried to trample a state Constitution in order to lock in federal power, which is arguably the opposite of democracy.
So, I mean, it's truly wild when you think about it, but these people, in many cases, are morally bankrupt. They have minimal morals and they will do whatever they need to do essentially that that they can get away with to get in power and we saw that in Virginia. So, that's all I've got for now.
