13Weather Forecast | 5 p.m. update, May 5, 2026Added:
And of course we're following weather.
We've seen a wet election Tuesday. Lots of folks out and about. Some needed umbrellas. Yes, if unless you were out early. Yes, and I was just updating uh temperature. We talked about this yesterday. Temperature's going in the wrong direction. 51 is the current.
That's the new high for the day. So I was inputting my little numbers there.
>> Yes. Oh jeez. I'm not liking [laughter] this trend. It It is going to be a cooler trend.
Oh jeez.
>> [laughter] >> It is going to be a cooler trend. You're going to want to swap the umbrella for the [music] jackets the next couple of days. Here's what I was inputting. 64 the high. That happened shortly after midnight. Temperatures have been nearly steady in the 50s with the rain most of the day, but we're now down to 51 and that's the current temperature. Also want to point out we've had over an inch of rain since midnight. 70 50, those are the averages for today. 92 35 are the records. Sunset isn't going to be necessarily a good one that we can see because of all the cloud cover and the rain, but that happens at 8:43. There's the 51 in Indianapolis, but behind the front we already have some 40s on the map including 47 Kokomo, 48 Lafayette, 49 Greencastle. Ahead of the boundary, we still have some 60s including 60 in Shelbyville, Bloomington and 61 degrees right now in Bedford. However, behind the front you can see the cold air temperatures down about 25 degrees from this time yesterday. We're 26 cooler in Kokomo, down 23 in Lafayette, and down 21 in Indianapolis. It is going to be a chilly rain the rest of today. This is our live Doppler 13 radar showing some of that steady rain from Lebanon up through Lafayette, south along 231 into Crawfordsville and Greencastle. Pockets of yellow indicate some of those downpours that we're going to be dealing with. We also have some heavier rain southeast of Greensburg along I-74. One area of heavy rain moving out, another area of heavy rain moving in. What this will mean for us, a soggy night and that lowland flooding that we've already been dealing with will continue to get a little worse over the next several hours. You can see with Future Track 13, we are going to be dealing with rain off and on, heavy at times through at least 11:00 tonight. Should start to lighten up after midnight and when you join Lindsey on Sunrise Wednesday at 4:00 a.m., then we'll start to clear things out and dry things out for the rest of our Wednesday. A mainly cloudy sky still midday. 51. We'll spend most of the afternoon tomorrow with temperatures between 55 and 60 degrees. We do get a break from the steady rain tomorrow and again on Thursday.
Rain chances return. Right now looks to be later Friday and then make a comeback. Right now thinking the early part of Mother's Day will be soggy. We will be keeping you updated on that in the 7-day. 55 to 60 degrees the next couple of days. Definitely some jacket weather with perhaps a little bit of frost on Thursday morning. 57 for a high Thursday afternoon. Friday we're at 65.
Saturday we're at 72. If you're choosing to celebrate prom this weekend and you don't want to deal with any rain chance, make those plans for Saturday. And then the rain chance looks to be mainly early in the day on Sunday. Yeah, and probably less competitive for brunch reservations.
Now you're thinking. All right. Thanks so much, Angela.
