Weather forecasting involves predicting temperature patterns based on historical data and current conditions; for example, Phoenix's first 110°F day typically occurs around June 11th, and high UV index levels (indicated by purple on forecasts) mean skin can burn in less than 10 minutes, requiring sun protection during outdoor activities.

Added:Happy Sunday. Good morning, everyone.
Jamie Warren here with a look at that most accurate forecast. We have another very warm day in store for us. We will be in triple digits by lunchtime. 110° is what we're forecasting for our high today. That'll be at about 4:00 later on this afternoon. Now, this is above normal for this time of year, but it's not really that far off in terms of when we typically start seeing 110° temperatures. In fact, the average for our first 110° day is June 11th, and we actually hit this yesterday where we saw 110. So, it's going to be hot from here on out. We're now officially in the thick of those hot summer months. I also want to warn you that the UV index levels are going to be extremely high today. It's not every day we see this purple here on this thermostat. What this means is that you could burn if you're outside for just less than 10 minutes. So, make sure that you are putting on that sunscreen and just really taking some proper precautions if you're out at maybe any of our splash pads or pools across the valley this weekend. Now, we've been tracking some storm chances over the past few days or so. Maybe you saw some sprinkles where you were over the past day or so. We are seeing clear skies this morning, but later on this afternoon and into this evening, we could see a slight storm system make its way through. It looks like things are going to clear out, though, come tomorrow. I also want to show you the highs across the state today. We have that moisture of north coupled with warm temperatures. Spots like Sedona, you'll be at 96° today.
Payson and Prescott, you'll be at 94 and 91. 83° in Flagstaff, but look at Lake Havasu City and Bullhead City. Even 113 is what we're forecasting at Quartzsite for today. So, very much above that 110° mark. And then for those lows for overnight, I mean, even if you're out at any of maybe the sporting events happening tonight or anything with your kids really. It is still going to be warm. We're only going to dip down to 87°.
Spots like Prescott and Sedona, Flagstaff clearly a little bit cooler.
Flagstaff will dip down to 50°. That 7-day forecast not offering us very much relief as we show you that tomorrow we're expected to be at 109, 110 for your Tuesday. For the most part dry skies for us here in Phoenix, but we're still tracking those scattered showers up in the high country throughout your work week.
