Showers return to South Florida: NEXT Weather tracks overnight rain and Monday morning storms

[00:00:04]As we take a live look at the night sky right here, it has been a steamy weekend, but showers are expected for the beginning of your work week. And it did start this morning. Want to take a look at video right now from Miami Gardens. You can see the rain coming down here, filling the streets with water. But this is typically what we see in neighborhoods across South Florida when it rains. Next Weather Meteorologist Dave Warren with a look at those storms headed our way. Yeah, we'll have more another round again tomorrow.

[00:00:29]Again, with the breeze that comes in, you get these working through the area.

[00:00:33]They push through in the morning, and they try to work to the interior in the afternoon. That means overnight, like right now, our Next Weather Radar picking up the activity that's redeveloping and moving with the breeze from east to west. Zoom in, show you exactly what can will be watching over the next few hours. A little bit of activity, even a few lightning strikes, with a few showers that they continue to work towards Biscayne Bay and are trying to hold together as they near the coastline. Northern Broward had a shower or two around Pompano Beach. A little farther south, right in the middle of the Keys towards Duck Key. This is crossing over the Keys going from east to west. So, an occasional shower tonight. More importantly, what you'll wake up to tomorrow morning. Next Weather Rain Tracker shows these continue to work through the area, and we'll start to see a little more activity developing right off the coast.

[00:01:17]That's a morning shower or two that you'll be stepping outside to in the morning tomorrow. Low 80s. Temperatures will struggle to drop into the upper 70s. I think this is about what you'll wake up to tomorrow morning. We'll put a higher rain chance in 80 down to briefly 79 thanks to some rain around in the morning. The rain chance is gradually beginning to diminish, but not till we get to the afternoon. That's the type of pattern we have with this east breeze.

[00:01:41]Showers and storms work their way through the area. Higher rain chances tomorrow morning, but we'll see them drop slightly in the Next Weather 7-Day Forecast. I'll show you what that means for our temperatures when I come back.
