[00:00:02]This is the 9Z series auction. 9Z01 is a Clovis style point that I made on video.

[00:00:16]So, it's kind of rough.

[00:00:19]It feels kind of rough. The flaking was okay. It was not that difficult to nap, actually. It just looks It looks tougher than it is. Yeah.

[00:00:35]Yeah, one side looks pretty good.

[00:00:38]Anyway, um yeah, not much to say. This is all on video.

[00:00:44]I I'm going to give you the measurements and all that, but yeah, you can watch the whole process on one of my live streams. Four and a quarter total width across the stem. Inch, inch and 38 there. A little bit wider here.

[00:01:34]All right, let's see. Compare it to a lighter and we'll see how much it weighs.

[00:02:19]This one I was going to offer in the brokes and bif faces or no, there's no brokes. this week. So, I was going to offer it with bif faces, but it turned out well enough. I think I can offer it by itself. Yeah, I was sharpening it up this morning and I decided to thin it down some more.

[00:02:36]I don't know if I by face this on video or not, but yeah, I'm just going to offer it by itself. It's sharp all the way around. I don't know what you would call that point style.

[00:02:49]Anyways, it is a dite obsidian 5 and 116th inches right here. It's like inch and 38. A little bit wider in the middle.

[00:03:04]Yeah. If I had narrowed the stem more, it would have been like an egg basin or something, but I did not want to make it more narrow. Yeah. I wanted to preserve as much as I could. It napped surprisingly well.

[00:03:19]Or I just got lucky. Yeah. Or both.

[00:03:28]Yeah. I like the way it turned out.

[00:03:32]All right. Compared to a lighter.

[00:03:37]And let's weigh this.

[00:03:59]There are three objects under this one item number. I just made that last night on the live stream. Mostly natural tools on this one, but I finished it up with modern tools. I was having trouble notching on this side here.

[00:04:16]But yeah, the the upper part mostly with natural tools, antlers, stones, and bones.

[00:04:25]And uh yeah, I was getting a little impatient, so I use steel and copper on the lower part. Okay, it's in that little dart point.

[00:04:34]This one I did earlier in the week on a live stream.

[00:04:40]Ehy style point made of blue glass.

[00:04:43]I think it's from a I think it's from a water bottle. Blue water bottle. You know, fancy water. And then this is just a piece of translucent Texas high-grade shirt. Little puny style point. C U N E Y. Cutuny.

[00:05:10]All right. So, there is some translucency on that one. Yeah.

[00:05:18]Not on this one.

[00:05:20]Okay.

[00:05:25]This one is two and 38.

[00:05:29]Yeah.

[00:05:34]This one a little bit over two inches.

[00:05:38]This one is one almost one and a half.

[00:05:44]Just slightly under.

[00:05:50]Let's compare it to lighter. Compare them to a lighter.

[00:05:56]So these two are arrow points. That's in that little dart point.

[00:06:00]Okay, let's weigh these 114 grains 58.

[00:06:59]This is a group of five faces in various stages.

[00:07:04]Some of these I finished out or I sharpened. So I'll separate those.

[00:07:12]Let's see which ones I sharpen.

[00:07:19]One, two, three, four.

[00:07:23]Yeah.

[00:07:25]All right. So, I sharpened these for a total of seven bifaces. These are sharpened but not notched.

[00:07:31]Okay. These are refined, thinned and sharpened.

[00:07:37]This one is a translucent transparent grade of obsidian.

[00:07:43]Yeah. Banded obsidian.

[00:07:48]Nice and glossy. This one's a dite.

[00:07:51]Yeah. No translucency. This is a dite obsidian. This one is pretty clear yet.

[00:07:56]Very clear. Like a midnight lace type of obsidian.

[00:08:00]I'm pretty sure. Yeah, I sharpened it, but I had trouble with the edges on this one.

[00:08:09]So, I just I started messing with the symmetry too much.

[00:08:17]So, I stopped.

[00:08:20]So, it's a little bit off. I said, "No, I'm just gonna if I keep messing with the symmetry, it just keeps getting step fractured in the middle and stuff."

[00:08:28]So, I had to clear out some step fractures. And I said, "That's good.

[00:08:32]That's good." I finally I cleared out a bunch right there. I remember that one.

[00:08:39]Anyway, this is these are all sharpened. Yeah. All the way around, right?

[00:08:49]This is the same kind of dite obsidian as the second item number, right? Same type, but it's just different banding.

[00:09:00]Yeah. Or is it this type? Let's see. I might have spoke too soon.

[00:09:07]They're all slightly different. All these dites are slightly different.

[00:09:10]Okay. So, there that's those four. I didn't show the flakes cars.

[00:09:24]And I'm going to measure and weigh each one of these.

[00:09:42]Okay. So, and these over here are not finished out.

[00:09:46]They are refined but not sharpened or thinned completely.

[00:09:54]All right, first stage of thinning is done. I did these on these two glass ones on video. I also did this one on video. This one is the one I did with all natural tools.

[00:10:05]Yep. Antlers, stones, and bones. With this one here, I didn't do anything to it. I I was going to save it to make a point out of it, but no, I'm I ran out of time. So, these three are not finished as far as the sharpening and final thinning. I think I was going to leave this this thick. So, this is the final thinning on that one, but I was going to thin these down more. This is bottle glass. This is these are both bottle glass.

[00:10:45]And yeah, these all these three are on video. The all the other ones I might have started on video, but I didn't finish them on video. I finished them off camera. Okay.

[00:11:29]They don't look the same size, but they they're all the same size. Same length.

[00:12:42]Okay, let's compare them to a lighter just so you can get some reference frame of reference here.

[00:13:18]It's a box of Georgia Flint River Church. Most of this stuff, if not all of it, is heat treated. Okay, these are flakes and spalls.

[00:13:32]I'm going to go through these pretty quick. I've got one, two, three, five, five boxes of flakes and spalls of different types of stones.

[00:13:41]All right, so this is the first one here. These are mostly butterscotch and mostly heat treat, but butterscotch naps fine in the raw state.

[00:13:54]So that's 4 in to the maximum length.

[00:14:00]This one, this is raw. This says raw on it.

[00:14:04]3 and 3/4.

[00:14:07]This one is raw as well. You can see, it says raw. It's written on there.

[00:14:16]This one might be heat treat. I think it is a little over four and a quarter. This is probably a heat treat.

[00:14:27]3 in. It is curved though, so you're not going to get the full 3 in. I would break it in half and get two out of that one. But that's just me.

[00:14:36]About three inches on that one.

[00:14:40]About three inches here. That one's a swirl chart, not a butterscotch.

[00:14:47]Four inches total.

[00:14:50]Probably not going to get the full length.

[00:14:53]3 and 38.

[00:14:55]Kind of a flat flake.

[00:14:59]Five by 3 and 3/4.

[00:15:04]Got that little patch of nasty stuff right there.

[00:15:10]But that's it. Little bit of little bit of an issue with this.

[00:15:16]Little bit of hole. There's a hole in the middle there.

[00:15:25]This one here.

[00:15:28]5 in. It's got a crack on this side.

[00:15:33]Right. Little over five inches. Okay.

[00:15:37]So, yeah, the bigger pieces I'm pretty sure they're heat treat. Some of the smaller ones are not okay.

[00:15:53]Another box of flakes and spalls. This time this is high-grade ranch rock from some of my videos.

[00:16:05]I mean I think I think these rocks represent more than one video. But these are higher grade pieces.

[00:16:14]These these are all raw.

[00:16:16]Give you a chance to get an idea what I call high grade. Some of it some of it might be tough. Like this one here may not be the the top top high grade.

[00:16:30]This one is pretty good.

[00:16:33]This one's pretty good. Hopefully that cortex is not going to give you any trouble.

[00:16:38]Some of these can be tricky, but it's hard to get a piece of this ranch rock without cortex. I mean, I try to save you this one if and also if these don't fit in the box, I'll take off some of these turtle backs. You know, I might knock back some of this stuff. Take a flake down this way and then shoot across that kind of thing. If these don't all fit in the box, it's kind of over stuffed right now. So yeah, this is high-grade ranch rock from an area south of San Angelo, Texas.

[00:17:12]Okay, so just give you an idea of the size. This is three, two and 38, I don't know, three and a quarter.

[00:17:29]I'm going try to cram them in just like this. If I have to knock them back a little bit, you know, some of these bulky areas, I'll take off some of this stuff.

[00:17:39]If they don't all fit okay, do a bit of a curve there.

[00:17:49]This one, the Cortex looks pretty good on this one. So, I'm I think that'll be pretty solid.

[00:17:56]This one, I'm pretty sure that's pretty good quality. This is all translucent stuff.

[00:18:07]I forgot to mention that.

[00:18:14]Can't see it through that. Can't see through the cortex, but you can see otherwise. So, it'll all be translucent high-grade stuff.

[00:18:24]Okay? But it's raw, so it's going to eat through your tools.

[00:18:29]It's not like obsidian.

[00:18:34]Just because it's high-grade raw doesn't mean it's easy to nap. It's It's just coop. It's just more cooperative than all the other stones.

[00:18:44]Basically, that's what that means. When it's high grade, it'll cooperate. It shouldn't have a lot of different consistencies.

[00:18:51]It should be pretty consistent.

[00:18:54]I chose these because they looked like they don't have defects.

[00:19:04]Okay. And I like making arrowheads out of this kind of stuff.

[00:19:09]So, I was saving it for me, but I was cleaning out my flakes today and I noticed I have way too many flakes. So, yeah, I'm going to start getting rid of them, start selling them. All right.

[00:19:30]9 Z07.

[00:19:33]This is a box of Amoeba CHS flakes. Amoeba ch flakes, not CHS. Well, it could be different batches. Some of these, I think, come from different batches. Like that one, I don't think comes from the same batch here. And some of the like this one is a real dark piece from I don't know where. Anyway, I just looked through a bunch of my flakes and I found all the the stray amoeba flakes, amoeba ch flakes. And these with little speckles and kind of a grayish tint or grayish look. These are from a video.

[00:20:11]This one here and all these related ones are all from the same piece. Now, these little some of these little ones are from different pieces.

[00:20:22]I just looked through a big bucket of flakes and I found the amoeba pieces.

[00:20:29]Most of them are from the video. Okay.

[00:20:34]Whichever video that was, I don't remember, but you know, you can probably recognize it by that one. It was one of the first, I think, one of the first balls that came off the big piece of ammo shirt. This one is five inches that way.

[00:20:49]Four and a quarter that way. Little bit less. Four and a eighth that way.

[00:20:54]Okay.

[00:20:56]This one I don't know. Probably probably won't get the full length. So about 4 in.

[00:21:03]All right. So those those are the biggest ones.

[00:21:06]This one about 4 in. It's got cortex and little hole right there. So you're not going to get the whole thing.

[00:21:15]But the material near the cortex is usually pretty good. I don't think that cortex has issues.

[00:21:21]If this has issues, just let me know and I'll send you another piece. I think I've got some more pieces.

[00:21:45]Right. Just a little bit. Oh, that one is might spoken too soon. I guess if it gets really thin, it gets really translucent.

[00:21:54]Yeah, it's not usually that translucent, but I guess if you get it thin enough.

[00:22:09]9 Z08 a box of lighter color ammo shirt.

[00:22:16]The previous box of ammo shirt is darker tint than this. These are lighter and these pieces are also smaller and they vary in napability.

[00:22:29]Like this one here is not going to nap the same as this one here. They're kind of from different batches. These two are from the same rock. I can tell. But this these are not from that batch, right?

[00:22:47]They're not from that. And these in the middle are from mixed batches. But these are going to be smaller random flakes that are not that big.

[00:22:57]Yeah. And some of this stuff will nap easily and some of it may not. Like this one may not nap as easily as some of the like this one here. It's a different kind of amoeba. This one is more translucent I think. Yeah. Than this one, right? Yeah. This one is not as translucent as this one here.

[00:23:27]And these some of these border on being flint. So it'll map. Okay.

[00:23:35]All right. So this is the same batch there. Just a bunch of little flakes.

[00:23:39]Mostly little flakes in this batch.

[00:23:41]Yeah. Sorry. I don't have very many big pieces anymore.

[00:23:45]I napped all of them down.

[00:23:50]Unless I find another batch in some of my buckets. These are what I've got now.

[00:23:57]Saved a few for myself, but not very many. I'm planning on getting more in October. Okay.

[00:24:09]So, yeah, these are kind of wonky in some cases.

[00:24:13]Like, see that? So, they're not all perfectly flat. So, you're going to lose some length on some of these. Some of these are kind of chunky, so you may not be able to thin them down very well.

[00:24:24]these, you know, new guys can nap this without too much difficulty, but most of this stuff's for advanced nappers.

[00:24:41]Most of the rock I'm offering is for advanced nappers, but yeah, beginners don't do too bad on this omoeba stuff.

[00:25:06]A box of Georgetown blue.

[00:25:10]This is the blue tint Georgetown stuff.

[00:25:14]And as I was looking for Amoeba shirt, I found a bunch of this. So, I put all these in the box. See how it's got a bluish gray tint?

[00:25:28]It's not that light gray. It's a darker color and a kind of a bluish color. And the this stuff is snapping halfish, okay? So, you got to be careful with it.

[00:25:39]It's not for beginners.

[00:25:42]Just letting you know. It will snap in half on you. Four and a quarter. And I try to pick out some flat pieces.

[00:25:51]I don't know, a little bit over four and a quarter.

[00:25:58]I was saving this for some videos, but I'm never going to get around to napping this stuff.

[00:26:06]This is a flat piece. Two and a half.

[00:26:10]This one's a little bit wonky.

[00:26:13]That cortex should be fine.

[00:26:16]two and a half or thereabouts. So, yeah, a bunch of little little flakes for you to experiment with. I guess before you do the bigger ones, that's what they're for.

[00:26:28]If you're into doing only the bigger ones, start with the small ones first so you get used to it. Four and a quarter.

[00:26:35]That's what I would do.

[00:26:38]You'll find out how how snap and halfish it is from the smaller ones, but it produces a really nice arrow head. I like the way these feel.

[00:26:48]It feels very distinct.

[00:26:54]Okay.

[00:26:59]So, there's enough in here to fill that small flat rate box all the way to the top.

[00:27:06]And these I prefer to pick out the flattest pieces.

[00:27:12]Okay.

[00:27:14]And this is not translucent stuff unless it gets really really thin. See it really really thin around the edges it'll get translucent but you won't be a probably won't be able to nap it down that thin. See what I mean? Okay.

[00:27:28]Typical of Georgetown. It can be translucent on the very edges.
