Heavy rain continued for more than an hour at around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, causing flash floods in several parts of the Clang Valley, including pedalling Ja and Koala Lumpur, disrupting traffic flow on main routes.
Within 2 weeks, flash floods as deep as 1.2 m hit the food court area on Jellen 51A/223, section 51A again, causing several vehicles parked in the parking area to sink this evening.
A Malaysian Highway Authority spokesman said flash floods were reported at kilometer 48.0 of the Sha Alam Expressway. cases from Kinara towards Awan Basar, resulting in a 4 km traffic jam since 4:27 p.m. The spokesman added that flooding was also reported on the Kuchai link towards the new Pantai Expressway and at KM1 18.9 heading towards Maju Jaya where one lane was submerged causing traffic to crawl.

Several cars were seen stalled in the rising waters under an overhead bridge connecting highrises in Jalon 3155 and Jalon Awan China. At Jalon 4155, the part of the road which is directly under an overhead bridge near the Awan Bisar LRT station was also flooded. At Jalan Awan Basar, all four lanes of the road in front of a supermarket were completely covered in muddy water.
Motorists on the middle ring road 2 MR2 at Desaton Razak also experienced delays due to flash floods and water logging. A fallen tree near a Petron station on the Koala Lumpur Serban Expressway towards Desa Pedalling southbound blocked two lanes and caused a traffic slowdown.
Following several online reports regarding the flash flood incident at Kuchai Link, New Panti Expressway, NPE, issued a statement to clarify that the incident occurred along Jalan Kuchai Lama heading towards Jalan Clang Lama.
