When royal family members face serious allegations, the monarch must balance family relationships with constitutional duties, prioritizing the integrity of police investigations and avoiding any actions that could compromise legal proceedings or be interpreted as support for the accused.

Andrew’s ‘vulgar’ behaviour towards women exposed as police expand investigationAdded:
Let's catch up on all the royal news now. Joining us is Victoria Arbita, royal commentator and author of Queen Elizabeth, an icon of modern monarchy.
Victoria, thank you so much for your time. Let's start with ex Prince Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. There are reports that King Charles is snubbing him despite staying within close proximity of Andrew. The king has been staying at Wood Farm on the Sandingham estate for a holiday, but he's not going to be making time to catch up for for tea and coffee with his disgraced brother, is he?
>> No, he's not. And one can understand why. The king's in quite a tricky position. You have to remember that he's not just head of state, he's also head of family. But in that role, he's required to put duty above all else. In the late Queen's reign, she walked a very delicate balance. So there's only one time I can think of that she put family ahead of duty and that was in 1997 when she chose to remain at Bal Morald's comfort her grandsons after the death of Diana. But the king is in a particularly tricky position. You have to think about the fact that if he was to turn up to show Andrew to see Andrew that would be widely interpreted now he might realistically be going over there to read him the riot act but it would be interpreted as support for his brother.
And the king has to be mindful not to compromise any kind of investigation if this does indeed relate end up with charges and Andrew should go to court.
The courts would be acting in the king's name. So I think he's wanting to make sure that he doesn't prejudice the investigation in any way or compromise it.
>> We're also learning more details about Andrew Matt Batten Windsor and his alleged treatment of women. He's reportedly used pretty vulgar pickup lines on women um as well as acts to humiliate them. According to new claims by royal author Andrew Lowey, who of course wrote this book about Andrew. Uh, Victoria, it also comes as Tames Valley police confirmed they've expanded their investigation into Andrew. Detectives are now also examining potential sexual offense allegations. So, police have urged anyone with relevant information to come forward. Of course, it's worth saying Andrew's always denied any wrongdoing, maintained his in innocence, but are you able to bring us up to speed and share with us kind of the latest details surrounding surrounding Andrew and the latest on the police investigation?
>> Well, I think it's really important you did something great there by associating the police investigation, which is based on facts and allegations that are coming out from Andrew Lowi. Andrew Lowi has made a litany of allegations about former Prince Andrew and I think we have to be quite careful with this. It is very important to stay with the facts.
Andrew has no right of reply as a member of the royal family, albeit a disgraced one. So, as you rightly mentioned, the police have broadened their investigation. Back in February on Andrew's 66th birthday, he was arrested for uh allegations related to misconduct in public office. That probe has now expanded to include abuse of position, sexual uh impropriy and corruption. And this particularly is relating to allegations that a young woman was taken to Royal Lodge back in 2010 for sexual uh purposes. Um police are imploring that victim to come forward to share what she might know and indeed anyone else that might have pertinent information. But I think we have to be quite careful here. Andrew is the master of his own device. He is not a pleasant character. He has shown a complete lack of judgment, no empathy. Uh he really has not done himself any favors. But it's not terribly helpful when we keep adding allegations that have not been substantiated that are coming in some respects from named forces but mo named sources but mostly from unnamed sources.
So I think at this point we have to allow the police to conduct their investigation thoroughly and for them to rely on the evidence available to
